Happy Holidays and such!  My boyfriend got a new drawing tablet and gave me his old one.  I finally sat down and decided to play with it.  Multiple reference images, endless marks on the wrong layers, much more stress than I anticipated, and two and a half days later I have a new found appreciation for digital artists.  It took me far longer than I thought it would to get this line art and there’s still so much I want to add/clean up.  I think it looks good for my first digital drawing tho, and I did have fun with it.  Next I’m gonna try to add Ziggy in there somewhere.

Practice

Sketched out a little scene that I want to try to draw tomorrow.  I got it down on paper in a small, less detailed form right now.  Hopefully I can get it looking decent enough.

Tried to draw leetol behbeh Ziggs this evening.  I like this but I want to improve on it and I plan on revisiting this one a few times.  Gotta work on them hands and them feets.  Oh I only used a ref for colors so I’m a bit proud of that too!

In case anybody thought I was good.  This is what happens when I try to draw something new and without a tutorial.  All in all I do like it.  Just not as much as I had hoped.

My boyfriend wanted me to try his alcohol markers so I tried them out with Litten.  I like the way it turned out even if Litten got some big hips.

Inteleon:  Awwwww look at the little baby!

Chance:  ....... I’m not a baby.

Inteleon:  So you ARE little then?

Chance:  DAMMIT!  NO!

I think it looked better as a sketch.  I feel like I kinda ruined it with the colored pencils but I’m really proud with how it turned out all the same.  I didn’t like how Chance ended up.  I can never get it just right like my boyfriend over at @chanceinthepants can.  That being said it looks a little extra rounded and baby-ish so it kinda worked out for this little interaction lol!  Also turns out my boyfriend has a scanner so now I can upload scans of my drawings instead of garbo pictures!  I didn’t know till after I colored it tho so that’s why one is a picture and the other is a scan.

My boyfriend suggested that I keep mixing things up and not just get good at drawing one thing.  I’ve always liked Inteleon too so I gave him a shot.  I am very proud of this one! I didn’t have a tutorial I just used a reference and what I’ve learned and drew it.  I’m am thrilled with how well he turned out!  I feel like I’m really improving and getting better.

I bought some colored pencils at the store and tried giving this little guy some color.  I think it turned out pretty good considering this is the first time I’ve picked up colored pencils since I was a kid.  I feel like I’m slowly but surely improving.  I did use the color scheme in the “How to Draw Pokémon” book but I still feel accomplished.  The only thing I don’t like is his lower jaw shadow kinda turned into a five o’clock shadow lol

My boyfriend bought a "How to Draw Pokemon" book today so I gave sandile another shot. I really like this one. I need to apply what I learned to Ziggy and work on him some more! I also bought some colored pencils and since this turned out so well I'm probably gonna make my first attempt at coloring him in tomorrow

So I know I’m a day late and a dollar short for fanart Friday but, I did something non-pokemon and a little different.  I started playing through Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door with my boyfriend and I was NOT prepared to receive a new son.  The game even lets you name him and everything!  I went with Ziggy in game but if I keep drawing him I will have to come up with a different name.  Oh and in case anybody was wondering since I can’t show it very well in pencil I got the pink kid yosh.

Definitely the best I’ve done so far still not very “great” but I think I’m making progress.  AND HEY I REMEMBERED THAT TAIL THIS TIME.  Just ignore that arm it’s kinda bad now that I look at it again.  Hope somebody enjoys!

I’m still here and I’m still trying.  Been busy but with work slowing down for the Holidays I should be able to dedicate a bit more time to drawing again.  Def looks better than before.  I still want to work on the leggys a buit more and I don’t know how to arm and hand.  It’s taking me a lot more to get them in a place that I think are “good” by my standards at least.

*Edit:  Oh and I need to work on the damn tail.  I was so tore up about the appendages I forgot the damn tail!

GOD I didn’t want to share this but it’s been a hot minute since I posted anything.  Sorry work has been a bit busy lately and I don’t have a lot of time on my hands.  I tried to do Ziggy on two legs because it seems more fun and I like the idea of him learning to walk and having to use his tail to balance, but it is bad.  Like absolutely horrible.  His stupid sassy left leg annoys me endlessly lol. Anyway after that abomination I decided to try just sketching one part in this case I was focusing on the legs and trying to figure out how it works.  I’ve been watching a few videos and some tutorials and I like the progress I’ve made.  I don’t know if it’s the “right way” to learn but just drawing one part and experimenting with that one part seems to have helped.  I want to try two leg Ziggy again but I’m gonna practice his arms next instead and hopefully put it all together.  Anyway sorry for the sad drawing but at least I feel like I’m learning and improving.  I’ll just keep it small and won’t sweat the details just yet.  Also I hope other people can see this and realize everybody starts somewhere and it’ll encourage them not to give up.  Don’t give up!

Sorry I haven’t been nearly as active lately.  I’ve been working on drawing a lot more and working my way through a couple of online courses and trying to improve through those but I took a break from it and decided to give Charlie a whirl this time.  I think Charlie turned out pretty well and I really like this one so I decided to share it.  Story Time:  Charlie decided to steal Chance’s pants for fun and enlisted Ziggy too.  I drew Chance looking for his pants earlier but it was too simple and boring and didn’t look good so just like... imagine it or something I guess.

I had a terrible dream last night.  I dreamed that somebody asked me to draw something that I couldn’t possibly draw yet and I didn’t want to tell them no but I didn’t know how to draw what they were asking.  It bothered me so much I woke up and immediately checked my asks real quick and saw there were no new asks... “Whew”
