1200 words so far. I'll probably have it finished by tomorrow. It's so horribly cliche and I love it. Hope you guys will, too <3
Got a new WillxReader fic idea in the works. Gonna be horror, because I can't NOT write horror. It'll likely be a little shorter but I need something a little to the point to get back in the groove again. 🤞

Requests are open. Rules are as follows:
1) No NSFW. I only write it sparingly and for myself. I also won't write it because I can't definitively verify the age of the requester.
2) I won't write for the novels past The Silver Eyes because I haven't read them yet. I'll update this post as that changes.
3) No RPF.
4) I may fill a request for other media properties if I'm familiar enough with them. Send me an ask and I'll let you know if it's doable.
5) I reserve the right to fulfill or deny any request at my discretion.

It’s important that everyone understand that, when I say that I “like” a villainous character, what I in fact mean is that I consider them to be both cool and morally praiseworthy, as well as correct in their aims and methods and worthy of emulation by people in the real world. Just in case there was any ambiguity on this point.

Would anyone find it preferable if I uploaded my stories in full to Tumblr and just kept up separate links for the copies published to AO3? I get worried that someone on here will find my works and steal/scrape them (manually or with a bot) and upload them to wattpad or something. And since wattpad is now allowing entertainment companies to steal uploaded works for content creation, I get scared that my stuff will get stolen.
HOWEVER, I know the post format for linking to AO3 is super goofy at best. The links either look super suspicious or if I try to use a normal looking link, Tumblr won't show the post in the tags at all. So having the stories here for others to have access to outside AO3 would be really beneficial to someone who doesn't want to use AO3 or just wants to like/reblog the work.
Keeping the stories on AO3 does two things for me: the first is that I have a greater piece of mind that my works have legal protection, both potential thieves and also from the website it's hosted on. The second is that if this blog ever becomes deactivated, the works won't just disappear. They will be stored in full on a space that anyone can find.
And the third, since I just thought of it right now, is that I get a lot more engagement on AO3 than I do here. I don't know if it's because I'm not properly cross-marketing myself between the two platforms, or something else I might be doing wrong, but this blog is really just a placeholder for me to compile reblogs and flesh out my thought process for what I write without cluttering my main blog. All the kudos, the comments, the bookmarks, the requests, etc. are all on AO3.
I'd like to have more to do here, and I think I'd like to try to opening up limited requests so I quit stalling when I say I'm working on a new fic and I'm very obviously not LOL. But I dunno. To anyone reading this, what do you think? How would you prefer me to re-organize this blog to make it more accessible?

writing fanfiction is just. i’m being so creative and original. i’m plagiarizing everyone by accident. i’m a genius. i’m cringe. i’m too angsty. i’m too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesn’t matter that it’s not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. i’m seeking validation. i’m projecting my own personal problems onto this story and i’m barely hiding it. i know so many words and i’m using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.

Title: Date Night
Chapter: 5
Fandom: Five Night’s at Freddy’s
Pairing: William Afton/Reader
Summary: Final chapter by request.
Word Count: 8114
Tags/Warnings: blood pacts, fluff, no murder au, blatant references, (eventual) plot-centric smut, asexual character, plot-centric pregnancy
Snippet: "So. Marriage." William sipped at a cup of tea. You were hungrily consuming a plate of roasted tomatoes and hot sauce-covered eggs. You told yourself that the food would distract you from the conversation you were about to have. It was only partially true.
Swallowing, you said, "Yeah. I want to be your wife."

Last night I had a dream where I was taken a different world and started a new life and a relationship. About 9 years into my stay, the person I had been in a relationship told me, "It's only been 30 seconds since you had your accident." Apparently, I had died and the person I was with was what might have been the equivalent of what Christianity calls an angel, except they were more akin to sort of trickster that could warp the world around them. He then told me that when people die, they come to this place and decide if they want to stay or not. If they stay, their soul separates from their body and they remain in the new world. If they don't stay, their soul remains tethered to their physical body, and their soul dies with them. He then explained the reason why this world was so sparsely populated was because people find it incredibly difficult to part from their old life.

Circling back to this now that the last chapter is finally published: I more or less kept the writing exactly the same as when I first started. I only changed some of William's bad parenting to be more neglectful instead of outright abusive (is there really a difference with him though?). So, in response to my other post posing the question about best-case scenarios, the truth is, there is none. Not if I want the ending to make sense. And not if I want to avoid being a hack writer like ol' Scotty. So I left it as is. It satisfied what I was trying to accomplish, that being how a man like William deals with rejection, but I honestly was striving for a happier ending. Oh well. At least no one died in this fic!
Okay, so I *did* have the last chapter of Absence of Mind finally finished, but honestly I hate it. So I'm going to completely re-write the ending. The chapter I have finished will be published as an alternate ending, but it won't be canon to the story and it's only there for people interested in "the worst possible outcome" as a narrative trope. So, for some of you it could be fun. But for everyone else, you're getting something a little more hopeful.

If you ever see a post suggesting that basically any fanfiction you'll ever read is "illegal in some jurisdictions" and the person making the post is an American, just know that that's complete bullshit. Unless someone is using their fanfiction to explicitly threaten violence against other real people, or making libelous statements about private individuals (not celebrities), it's not illegal in the United States. Even the limits that there are on supposed "immoral content" are there not so much because of their immorality but because they harm actual human beings in their production (e.g. ch*ld p*rn*gr*phy), none of which applies to written erotica of any kind. This is a very very good thing, btw, you do not want the state to be given a blank check to legislate morality in fiction. That basically never ends well, most especially for women and LGBTQ+ people aka the bulk of people who are reading and writing fanfiction.
It's easy to forget this in Internet discourse because most people who claim the label are doofuses who act like private companies like Spotify or YouTube are the same as the government, but free speech absolutism -- as in, the state should not be in the business of censorship at all -- is a good progressive thing. It still makes my head spin when I meet people "on the left" who don't get this!

Title: Absence of Mind
Chapter: 4
Fandom: Five Night’s at Freddy’s
Pairing: William Afton/Reader
Summary: Final chapter by request.
Word Count: 4413
Tags/Warnings: domestic life, sexual language, manipulation, graphic depiction of lobotomy, graphic depictions of animal death, more or less realistic depictions of mental illness in a serial killer
Snippet: She excuses his change in behavior to a midlife crisis. And she will help him through it because her vows before God were to him, and it is her wifely duty to see him through his struggles. But William notices her faltering in her attempts to make him open up about his problems, because it means he'll go back to the way he was before. And though she proclaimed to have him as he was, she's grown used to his attention, and she will selfishly save it for herself or risk losing it altogether. After all, doesn't she deserve to be loved this way all the time?
