please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.

Here’s to realising life is an insane adventure and you want to be a part of it, even if it’s not always what you expected it would be x

the most painful part about self-healing is how gradual and slow-moving of a process it is. it often goes unnoticed by the outside world. back home, you could be putting in your best effort, ploughing through mud, launching yourself over the hurdles and still, as long as the results aren’t jarring enough, people automatically assume you’re not trying. BUT! there is beauty in how intimate of an experience growing and mending is. on occasion, you’ll look back and think, “i’m a better person than i was before.” the overwhelming sense of promise and pride … i assure you it’s worthwhile. the lack of acknowledgement from external sources can be extremely discouraging but please keep at it! i promise you it’s worth it!!!

I’m gonna be blunt: you bring little worth to a friendship if you’re apathetic toward the good in your friends’ lives. If you shrug when they come to you with little things that they’re happy about, they will eventually stop coming to you with anything and you’ll wonder why that relationship feels stale. Practice genuine excitement with the people in your life. If you see a friend try to downplay how excited they are about something just be like “yoooo! This is a cool thing! You’re a lovely person and you deserve lovely things! I love you!“ 

I think it’s easy to be someone people complain to, but it’s just as if not more important to be someone they know they’re allowed to be excited and proud and happy around.
