This is the perfect time for me to explain my blog title! My blog title is “Red Tape With Reason” because Mearing strongly believes that working within the established boundaries is important whenever necessary. She isn’t so hard on the red tape because it gives her more power and influence. If anything, that is secondary at best. The reason she is so adamant about it is that, when she worked as an agent, she lost one of her partners because he broke the rules in an attempt to capture one of their objectives. It’s been a slow transition from that moment to where she is; however, she wants to make things tough on people. It’s not to be annoying. It forces them to think about their actions whether they like it or not, and that may be the thing that keeps them alive in the field. She tries to teach the lesson that sometimes we have to do things we don’t like for the greater good (including paperwork). She’s tough on people because she cares and wants them to live.

"Am I hearing you correctly, Optimus? You're questioning my capabilities?" Mearing said back, her eyes narrowing at the massive titan. Without the least hesitation, she reached down and picked up her purse with an exasperated look before throwing it back on the ground.

"There. I can 'carry my own weight.' I just chose not to in this case. As for the rest of the time, how can I carry my weight when I'm not given the chance? It's the rest of you that try to sneak around behind my back and go on damn unauthorized missions."

She crossed her arms over her chest, arching an eyebrow at the Prime. "And your point is? Just because I'm a female doesn't mean I have to be a lady."

She enjoys trophy hunting for stags. It keeps her in practice with a rifle and the quiet environment of nature is a perfect contrast to her intense job. It gives her a chance to breathe and just let loose. Besides, she sees it as doing a good thing because deer are overpopulated anyhow. Why yes, she does use all of what she kills and donates the rest. She’s a bitch but she’s responsible.

Her house may or may not have deer heads mounted everywhere. Odd fun fact, she dresses up the heads in goofy costumes for when her sister visits with her children on the holidays.

Mearing firmly believes that a person should prove themselves to each and every individual that they meet. She thinks that titles, awards, and the like aren’t good tools of judgement. She wants to know a person for who they actually are and not the position that they hold. You have to work hard to get on her good side, but on the flip side she also believes she has to work hard to prove herself to others. She wants to be known for her inner strength, not the strength that comes from her position or title.
