Asking for more money at work. Why? Been given CFO duties. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you deserve

Eighth work post
So after we have made a bunch of people redundant and we tell everyone that everything is okay, we forget to pay them for the month.

It is perfectly normal to feel anxiety the day before going back to work after a holiday or weekend.

Sixth work post
*"There are six HR professionals supporting the company. The east coast team consists of 300 employees, while the west coast has just 40. The proposed plan is to relocate five HR staff members to support the smaller west coast team, leaving me solely responsible for the 300 employees on the east coast. This redistribution doesn’t seem proportionate to the workforce size and operational needs."*

Fifth work post
**Surviving the Workweek: A Dramatic Retelling**
Monday: The optimism is strong. Coffee is poured, emails are opened, and I briefly believe I’m the protagonist of a workplace success story.
Tuesday: The illusion shatters. Inbox chaos, unexpected meetings, and someone has discovered a *new* process that is somehow worse than the old one.
Wednesday: We’re in the trenches now. Someone used “per my last email” with frightening precision. The printer has chosen violence. I Google “how to run away and start a new life as a lighthouse keeper.”
Thursday: The caffeine levels are concerning. I am both overworked and underwhelmed. We power through with sheer willpower and a questionable amount of snacks.
Friday: The weekend is within reach. A final burst of productivity emerges—right before everything breaks and the fire alarm goes off (metaphorically… hopefully).

Fourth work post
One of my responsibilities is compiling and providing data to #WGEA. Interestingly, this task often falls to women, pulling us away from other priorities. Typical

Third work post
It was a whirlwind of exits today—three employees calling it quits, followed by one dramatic farewell due to a serious security breach. If HR had a reality show, this episode would be titled *The Great Unraveling*.

Second Work Post
How many posts do we crank out in a day? Guess we’ll find out! Never been a blogger before—this is uncharted territory. But hey, if Julie could whip up boeuf bourguignon while navigating existential crises, I can certainly give this a go. Inspired by Julie & Julia, minus the book deal. And the cooking. And the structured life plan. Let’s wing it!

Work Post One
Working in HR is an incredibly dynamic and rewarding experience. Every day, I find myself supporting colleagues, navigating workplace challenges, and being the go-to person for resolving concerns. But it makes me wonder—where does HR turn when we need guidance, support, or just someone to lean on? The irony of being the problem-solver is that sometimes, you need someone to listen too. Any fellow HR professionals out there who can relate?
