this whole season has been really cool regarding lore, and getting some real in-depth information on the hive and everything that they were and became is just awesome. hearing the hive gods argue has been entertaining also, even if we can't hear xivu actually speak. unrelated but i'm hoping we get a sick ass sword by the end of the season, it's really setting us up to have one but i won't be all that surprised if it is just a one off (again) where we get a cool sword and cannot even keep it smh.

eris's throne world makes me think about yor's, again, and how terrible it is there and how no one should ever go there.

@twiningfates and i have a really fucked up au for yor and hassa but it's so good and i think about it all the time. all the time.

sad times thinking about rezyl's descent into darkness where the happy, carefree, fun guy slowly becomes closed off to the people closest around him and it takes so long to fully change him that a lot of people don't really notice that it is happening. it would be minor things for a long time, he doesn't want to hang out and makes excuses until people stop asking. he doesn't smile anymore over a course of decades and blames it on being tired or any other mundane thing. gets to a point where people only vaguely remember that this hero was one of the most fun lightborn to be around until he kills someone, permanently, in the crucible. a place where early guardians were killing each other to hone their powers and cunning- but for practice, ghosts were untouchable. however he didn't even kill their ghost. he just shot them down and the never got back up. there wasn't anything to revive. no light, no soul, not a speck of anything beyond the corpse on the ground. and from there it really just went downhill like falling off a cliff face to an abyss awaiting below.

yor/rezyl out here with no shame. he'd clean himself in the river and not care who sees. he'll fuck in the forest and if someone wanders across him oh well. guy has been around for hundreds of years he really could not care any less what someone thinks about his indecency. for the most part, yor doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks about him anyways.

What better a person to understand pain than a man who built himself on it, both with his own suffering, and the countless moments of agony he inflicted upon others. Is that not the doctrine of the creatures he'd become a part of? The Hive showed dominance through pain, and death, but they also shared love in the same manner. To kill and be killed was divine proof that one could better themselves, to become smarter, stronger, claw one's way to the top until nothing else remained.

Who better to hone yourself on than the violence of that which holds your heart?

yor deciding to live amongst humanity again post final shape is incredible, one because he cannot be distinguished from any other guardian at this point with how many of them utilize the darkness alongside their light, and two because he still very much is a wolf in the middle of the flock of sheep and herding dogs. they just don't realize it.

since i am here; yor being an undying being in the same way that the hive are, is an interesting dynamic to write out. while death is pretty inconvenient for him, and generally not permanent, he still looks to avoid it. of course that isn't always possible, accidents happen and he can be caught by surprise. a fun aspect of it was explored in an au i wrote years ago where he was captured, and tortured, but no matter how badly his captors wanted him dead for what he has done they couldn't kill him. why? because killing him would quite literally set him free of their binding. he gets sent to the ascendant realm and none of them know exactly where the entrance to his throne world is. it will absolutely take him a while to crawl his way back out of there but there will be hell to pay when he comes back.

so in short he is not afraid of dying, but won't actively seek out death.
