these will be for ones that have variations as in set mixes, aka they're similar but not 100% the same and whichever set makes it through will represent that specific sibling set!

Do you like fictional father figures?

What about father figures in ships that are practically canon? Well boy oh boy do I have a tourney for you! Welcome to the All But Canon But They Are Dads Showdown! Nominate Your Favorite Ships that are pretty much canon but they also are dads to compete for the best one!

Before you nominate a few ground rules!

Only nominate a contestant once per person! By that I mean each of you can only nominate one specific person one time, you can nominate multiple contestants in different submissions, No cheating!

They have to be father figures in some sense

That being said odds are I’ll only include up to 64 characters

Those being said I am going to limit it to 2-3 sets from one source

Any harassment or vitriol will be met with a a soft block for 24 hours before a permanent one if it continues and repeated vitriol towards an opponent will be liable to disqualification or being forced onto a team with their opponent.

This is silly little tumblr poll do NOT take this too seriously! It's all for fun!

There will be some Automatically getting ins but I am not going to say who because I would like to see if they end up getting nominations (Odds are you can guess though)!

Fictional Characters ONLY will be allowed in the tourney!

The Cousins Competition!

Do you know any characters that are cousins? Maybe they have a fun dynamic or just want to fight each other? Then this is the tournament for them!

Some ground rules for nominations:

No real people

There has to be at least two characters

Hey, could we also share images for you to use for prospective nominees somehow? I just realized some characters may be hard to find good screencaps of, and others may uh... have some very awful fanart of them that'd come up in image searches 8")

If you would like to I will gladly take it, I'll open up submissions so you can do it that way! Or if anyone wants to draw art for that then that'd fall more under propaganda and in that case @ this blog and tag it with #notquitesiblingsshowdown2023 or you can submit it or send it as an ask and same applies to just general in show images! Although I'd prefer those being sent via asks or submissions!

Can a trio be submitted if 2 of the characters are canon siblings and the 3rd is their not-quite sibling or do the groups need to consist entirely of not-quite-siblings?

That descion will be made on a case by case basis! Nominate them and see what happens, i will ask the council (friends who are more familiar with a source) what they think on that and also my own judgement!

Do you have a duo or set of characters that aren't quite siblings, but have a sibling-like dynamic? Whether or not they are actually related in any way, they are canonically just friends, or it's a silly goofy headcanon you just have? So they aren't quite siblings but they are practically are and are close enough to where they are such to you at least? Well then this is the tournament for you!

As much as I love canonical adopted or step-siblings, they do not count for this tourney! Those would fit in the catagory of YES THESE ARE DEFINATELY SIBLINGS.
