Arcane reaction

episode 1-3 (Welcome to the Playground, Some Mysteries are Better Left Unsolved, The Base Violence Necessary for Change)

Started arcane, came for the sapphics but the gays and their crazy science hijinks intrigue me

The sapphics are still my favs though there's just something about a tragic romance that really appeals to me y'know

Man I can already tell that Vi and Powder and going to make me very sad over broken sisterhood

Like seriously how does the rift between them grow so much? They adore each other (looking back this hurts)

Damn that councilman with the gold flecks over her cheeks is so hot

I feel like you can tell a lot about me from how excited I am by the mad science in this show

I appreciate the similarities and yet stark dissonance in Caitlyn and Jinx’s fighting styles

One is completely on the lawful side of the spectrum and the other is on completely the chaotic

I really liked Grayson’s character; really sad that we didn’t get to see more of her

What are you shooting for?

It’s going to come completely full-circle with that line, isn’t it?

I think Marcus feels like he’s following in Grayson’s footsteps and maintaining peace with the undercity but he’s really not

Viktor wants revolution to reach the undercity too, I wonder what happened to him there

We’re getting some Viktor backstory, I’m very curious to see what made him believe in magic and Jayce when no one else did

One thing that is really well done in this is how every character had a line that they weren’t willing to cross when they were younger but now, they will. First Viktor, now Mel

Imagine showing up to work one day and people are like “jesus fucking christ there’s a corpse in here”, herd you to the back room and everyone who sees you also agrees that there is now a dead body where you are sitting, with the appropriate amount of shock and disgust about it. You figure it’s some kind of a prank that they’re pulling, but also the people that you know aren’t into pranks, or aren’t very good actors, are treating you like a corpse. They go weirdly back and forth between talking about you as if you’re not there, and politely asking you to stay still while they figure out who you’re supposed to call in case of a dead body randomly appearing.

Paramedics show up, study you thoroughly and agree that while they can’t see any apparent sign of death, you are, indeed, dead, and ask you to climb aboard the ambulance. You’re taken to the temporary corpse storage that hospitals have.

On the way there you ask them whether this kind of shit happens often, and while they won’t look at you, the paramedics agree that they’ve never had a talking corpse before, though they won’t question the fact that you’re moving on your own.

You’re eventually led to a morgue, where you’re shown a slab to lay on, and at this point you don’t really even question it, you just climb onto the Corpse Shelf and lay down, maybe have a little nap, with no idea what’s going to happen next.

Then you wake up to someone walking into the morgue, who has the shit scared out of them when you move, and they’re like “dude what the fuck, you’re not supposed to be here, this place is for storing dead bodies” and when you’re like “aw man sorry I thought I was a dead body” they have no idea whether you’re joking and they don’t care, you’re just chased out of there.

And you just kinda go home and take a shower, show up to work normally the next day and nobody questions it.

And basically that’s probably how those ants feel when scientists spray them with the Pheromone That Dead Ants Smell Like, and just hang out at the dead-ant-pile until the smell wears off.

my biology professor has such a chaotic energy about him, last week i went to his office hours and somehow we ended up on the topic of gay marriage:

he said that when he lived in texas they changed the law to define marriage as “between a man and a woman in a house of religious worship with the intention to have children” so he filed his taxes as single and when they called him up like “you filed married last year” he was like “you changed the law, i was married by a judge in a courthouse and i have no intention of having kids” and they told him “you know who that law was for” and i guess he hung up on them and did not, in fact, pay taxes as a married man that year

I want a story about a king whose son is prophesied to kill him so the king is like “whatever what am I supposed to do, kill my own kid wtf is wrong with you” so he just raises him as normal, doesn’t even tell him about the prophecy, and instead of some convoluted twist of events that leads to the king’s murder the son grows up and when the king is very old and dying and in excruciating pain the kid is just like alright I'mma put him out of his misery.

It breaks my heart every time I think about how Wilhelm lost his biggest support. The only one in his Family who cares about Wilhelm’s happiness more than his duties.

Erik being the only one who can read Wilhelm’s signals and knows when he needs a little physical comfort to stay calm.

Wilhelm seeing Simon for the first time, and checks how Erik reacts to him. He wants to see if he is smitten as well. Erik’s opinion means everything to him.

Erik knows how much Wilhelm needs proper hugs. His little brother’s needs are simple, but rarely met by anyone.

Erik’s words of advice is everything Wilhelm needs in this situation. He needs his big brother to be able to stand his ground and be confident about his gut feeling.

Erik was a supporter of August, and understood where he came from and why he acts like he does. But I wonder how he would have reacted if he was alive to see what he did to Wilhelm.

What breaks me the most is, that this was the last time Wilhelm spoke with Erik. It was probably the first time Erik saw his brother in love. He tease him about it in such a sweet and brotherly way. It seems like Erik has an understanding of his brother not necessarily falls in love with girls, and he just embraces Wilhelm as he is without any assumptions or pressure. But there is nothing I want more than for Wilhelm to actually tell Erik that it’s a boy he’s in love with. Erik is probably the first Wilhelm would tell, but he never got the chance. And Erik never got the chance to tell Wilhelm that he is perfect as he is, and his happiness is more important than anything else. It would have changed so much for Wilhelm’s inner conflicts, if he just knew he had Erik’s support.
