A Few More Tidbits On 527
written by Will Schumacher
I posted awhile back about the 527 number. It seems to be hidden in a passage about the revealing of Jesus.
I wrote:
The reason I study numbers is because of Clay. He had posted about how he believed God impressed on him the importance of the number 527. Jared was age 527 when Enoch was taken.
Enoch is a prototype of the Rapture. Jared’s name means “to descend”. God would seem to be implying that the descending of Jesus for the resurrection/rapture is tied to 527.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
There sure looks like a hidden 527 in this passage:
1 Corinthians 15: 4-8 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
1-Cephas, then 12, then 500 brethren, then 1 James, then the apostles (the number 12 is always associated with the apostles so should we not infer 12?), then last Paul. You have 1 + 12 + 500 + 1 + 12 + 1 = 527
This hidden 527 number is about the appearing or revealing of Christ to his disciples. The descending/Rapture is about the appearing and revealing of Christ to his disciples. This would be a perfect match to the age of the descender, Jared at 527, when Enoch/the Church is taken.
Strong’s G527 = tender. It is used only 2 times in the Bible, both times in context of the return of Christ:
Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Mark 13:28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
I have seen 2 numerically important events begin with a hidden 527. Both are types of the end times.
The first plane that hit on 9/11 was at 8:46 am. 8:46 begins minute 527. The Bible speaks of the high towers falling at His return. The high towers represent man’s pride against God.
The 3/11 Japan quake/tsunami/nuclear event was tied to Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 which was Av 27 on the Jewish calendar. The 5th month 27th day, another hidden 527.
So the new:
1) The 4 gospels are the life/revealing of Jesus. There are 3779 verses in the 4 gospels combined. 3779 is the 527th prime.
2) Enoch was 365 when taken. He is the 7th generation. Eber is 365 when Rebekah is brought to Isaac by the servant/Holy Spirit and marries her. They are a picture of the same event. Eber is the 14th generation and Isaac the 21st. All multiples of 7.
Eber means “the region beyond”. I have thought this is a picture of heaven. When we are raptured we are taken to heaven. Isaac takes Rebekah into his tent and marries her. Jesus’ tent is heaven.
Verse 527 from the end of the Bible refers to eternal life, Heaven, and has a gematria of 5675:
1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
Strongs H5675 = Abar, the root of Eber.
A further proof they are connected and Eber is Heaven.
3) There was an earthquake in Christchurch on Sept 4, 2010. There is a post or two on that. It had a number connected to Jared and Enoch.
The book of Revelation talks about a great earthquake associated with the return of Christ.
The first one on 9-4-10 was Elul 25 on the Jewish calendar, the first day of creation and the exact day Nehemiah finished the walls of Jerusalem:
Nehemiah 6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.
Interestingly, the earthquake happened at 4:35 NZT.
Jared lived 435 years after Enoch was translated.
Strong’s H435 = Elul. Nehemiah 6:15 is the only verse in the Bible that H435 occurs in.
Nehemiah 6:15 has a gematria of 2808.
Strong’s G2808 = shut
It is used in the parable of the ten virgins (Rebekah is the virgin church) and the door being shut.
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Eber lives until 464 and the 464 number is tied to the door being shut.
So this earthquake was some type of sign on Elul 25. Elul 25 is a hidden day number 527. A typical Jewish year is 354 days. Over a 19 year cycle there are 7 leap years of 384 days. Every 19 years the cycle starts over because their calendar follows the moon and the sun.
The 527th day of each 19 year cycle is Elul 25. (354+30+29+30+29+30+25)

The Cherubim & the Word of God (Part 2)
written by Will Schumacher
To recap some items I have posted on the word of God, there is a mysterious light God made the first day. Some Jewish rabbis have believed this to be the light of the Messiah.
The first words God spoke were “Let there be light” in Hebrew. The gematria of this phrase is 232.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
The gematria of “the Word of the Lord” in Hebrew is also 232. It is used the first time with God’s unilateral covenant made with Abram:
Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
In the book of Psalms God’s word is called light:
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
God’s Word is the whole Bible, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ.
The NT uses the phrase “from the foundation of the world” when referring to God’s plan of redemption.
Matt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Strong’s G2602 = “foundation”.
The foundation of the world in my eyes is the conception, the beginning, the first day.
Verse 2602 is about the vail, the doorway to God which covered with Cherubim who I believe more than likely are the “Word of God”. Recall the Hebrew language is a concrete language. Everything is described concretely as to how it functions, unlike our abstract language.
Exodus 36:35 And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work.
The cherubim are described as four “living creatures”.
I have posted on the number 4 a few times. It is tied to division. It is the first dividable number. The first time it is used in the Bible is when the river of Eden parts into 4 rivers. It is typically used of how creation is divided: 4 winds, 4 directions, 4 elements.
However, when the 4 parts are together it is whole. So the totality of the 4 parts together is the wholeness of the thing, so the 4 living creatures together represent the wholeness of the Word of God. The four faces represent the wholeness of the work of Christ and who He is.
The Hebrew word for “word” is dabar. It means and ordering of things. The 4th time it is used in the Bible is in Genesis 15:1 for the “word of the Lord”. The 4th book in the Bible we call Numbers, but the Jewish people call it “Bamidbar” or “in the wilderness”.
The word “wilderness” is the word “dabar” with a letter mem at the beginning. So the wilderness is a place of order. It is a place of testing. The Israelites were there 40 years, a time of testing. We are in the wilderness now. The letter mem represents water. Water many times represents the Word of God since both are essential to life. Water when contrasted with land represents chaos and uncertainty whereas land is firmness and certainty. Our time in the wilderness, just as Israel’s, is a time of testing. When we rely on the bread of life/ manna/ God’s word it is a time of order. When we rely on our own word/ ourselves/ the world ways of chaos. It is a time of disorder.
It’s interesting that this 4th book of being in the wilderness is 1288 verses long. Strong’s H1288 = bless. If you recall “cherub” most likely means to bless per Abarim productions and the mirror image spelling of “cherub” is Strong’s H1288 = bless. The word of God is meant to bless.
From prior posts, Deborah is a picture of the Spirit inspired word of God. Deborah also means bee and the word of God is like honey.
The first mention of the cherubim in the Bible is verse 80 and the first mention of a Deborah in the Bible is verse 1020. The difference is 940. The only verse in the Bible with a gematria of 940 is about the “word of the Lord”:
1 Kings 6:11 And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,
Recall the gematria of “Let there be light” and “the word of the Lord” are 232.
Verse 232 from the end of the Bible is about a “little” book that will be like honey. This is the “word of the Lord”.
Revelation 10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
This vision of John in Revelation 10 should make you think of Ezekiel 1-3 and Daniel 10-12. Both these sections of scripture are related to the cherubim and the word of God. I will do a post on that in the future hopefully.
Strong’s H232 = ”girdle” or a belt. It is used first with the belt Elijah wore on his loins. From prior posts Elijah is a type of the Holy Spirit filled person. When you are filled with the Spirit you are also filled with His word.
2 Kings 1:8 And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
In the NT we are to wear the “belt” of truth on our loins. God’s word is truth.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Jesus says John the Baptist is Elijah who was to come. John wears this same belt that Elijah does, the word of God. John also eats honey, the word of God.
Matthew 3:4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
The first time the cherubim are described as something other than cherubim is in Isaiah 6 where they are called “seraphim” meaning fiery ones.
Isaiah 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
The Bible calls the word of God “fire”.
Jeremiah 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Revelation 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed
The sword in Genesis 3 which is the Word of God is a flaming sword:
Genesis 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Isaiah 6:2 has a gematria of 5752.
There is only one other verse in the OT with a gematria of 5752. It is the first mention of honey in the Bible which of course is what the Bible associates the word of God with:
Genesis 43:11 And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:
In the NT this verse about the “word of the Lord” has a gematria of 5752:
Acts 13:49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
Strong’s H5752 = Oded. Abarim Productions says the root word of Oded means “to perpetually witness”. Isn’t God’s Word a perpetual witness just as the cherubim cry day and night “Holy,Holy,Holy”?
This verse seems to reflect the eternal witness of God’s Word set in heaven.
Psalm 119:89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
God is always seen as surrounded by the cherubim/ 4 living creatures/ His word.
God calls His word light, which was the mysterious creation on day one:
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The running total gematria to the word “light” in the above verse is 962. The gematria of Psalm 119:89 is also 962.
962 is a number associated with the Genesis 5 patriarch Jared. It’s his lifespan, how many years he lived. Jared means “to descend”. Jesus calls Himself the light of the world who descended from heaven.

The Cherubim & the Word of God (Part 1)
written by Will Schumacher
The cherubim and the flaming sword are the keepers/doorway to the tree of life:
Genesis 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life
The Bible shows the cherubim as the door keepers in the construction of the Tabernacle.
The Holy of Holies is the dwelling place of God. God is the tree of life. He dwells in the cloud above the Mercy Seat containing 2 cherubim:
Exodus 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
The Cherubim are on the veil/door to the Holy of Holies.
Exodus 26:31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:
The covering of the Tabernacle and the Holy of Holies had cherubim:
Exodus 26:1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
When John enters the heavenly tabernacle the cherubim are surrounding the throne.
Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
When Ezekiel sees God on His throne it was above the cherubim.
Exodus 10:1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
When Isaiah sees God’s throne he sees seraphim which are most definitely cherubim:
Isaiah 6:1-2 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
Repeatedly throughout the Bible the way to God is through the Cherubim.
The Hebrew language is a concrete language. When it describes something it describes its function. Cherubum are called cherubim because it is what they do.
According to Abarim productions the word cherub most likely means to bless or be mighty. The root word “kerub” doesn’t appear in the Bible but there is an Assyrian word spelled the same, meaning “to bless” and the Hebrew word “to bless” is “barak” which is a mirror image of “kerub”. So a cherub is more than likely one that is meant to bless.
Per my last post, the flaming sword of Genesis 3:24 that is guarding the way to the tree of life with the cherubim is a supernatural sword, it is the Spirit filled word of God.
Curiously even though the cherubim are seen throughout the bible as the way to God they are never pictured with the flaming sword except in Genesis 3:24.
The Hebrew word for “word” is dabar, spelled dalet-beit-resh. In the hebrew language each letter has its own meaning and the ancient Hebrew was a pictograph language. Dalet is a door and beit-resh is the Hebrew word for “son”. So the word dabar can be seen as the door to the son, just as the flaming sword/word of God is the door to the tree of Life/Son of God Jesus.
I have been reading and listening quite a bit the last few months to Jeff Benner of the Ancient Hebrew Research Center. In Genesis 15 he explains that the smoking furnace and the burning lamp are one in the same. It is just Hebrew poetry of resaying the same thing twice in a different way. He says the reason he can say this confidently is because the verb is singular.
Genesis 15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
He also states, although there is no verb to support it, that he believes the cherubim and the flaming sword are one in the same. There is a word play which is common in the OT. Cherub is spelled kaf-beit-vav-resh. Sword is spelled Chet-beit-resh. They sound very similar.
SO let’s just say Jeff Benner is correct and the cherubim and the flaming sword are one in the same. They are both pictures of the Spirit-filled Word of God. The Spirit-filled Word of God is the door to the tree of life/God.
It is interesting that Jesus is called the Word of God and He calls Himself the door.
The cherubim cry 24 hours a day 7 days a week “Holy, Holy, Holy”. Does the Holy Bible, the word of God, cry “Holy, Holy, Holy” 24 hours a day 7 days a week?
Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
There are four faces to the cherubim.
Revelation 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
These four faces have throughout church history been associated with the 4 gospels, the 4 “faces” of Jesus. He is the Messiah, the king of the Jews. He is fully God and fully man. He is the servant who came to die for us and give us life.
The four faces of the cherubim were the standards of the 4 encampments around the tabernacle in the wilderness. The people of God were identified by these 4 standards or identifiers just as we are to be sealed by the Holy Spirit with the word of God and are to identify Him to the world around us.
In Revelation 6 the 4 living creatures/cherubim release the first 4 seals consisting of war, famine, and death which correlate precisely to Leviticus 26 and the curses of not following the Word of God. The 5th seal is the blood of the prophets who brought Israel the Word of God.
I started down this rabbit hole when I read the following verse about the word of God is living.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
I recalled Clay saying he saw a living and breathing bookshelf of books (in Heaven) and how they were alive.
The four living creatures/ cherubim are first described in Ezekiel:
Ezekiel 1:5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
Strong’s H2416 = living creatures. It simply means life or something alive just as the word of God is living.
The cherubim are constantly described as having wings. The Bible associates wings with salvation and protection. Does the word of God offer salvation and protection?
Psalm 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
The Holy Spirit is pictured as having “wings.” The Holy Spirit is first pictured as “fluttering” or “moving” over the water. Strong’s H7363 =”moving” or “fluttering”:
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The next time Strong’s H7363 is used is with the Holy Spirit like an eagle with wings giving protection and salvation.
Deuteronomy 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
In the NT the Spirit descended on Jesus like a dove:
Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
The cherubim have the appearance of burning coals of fire and lamps.
Ezekiel 1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Lamps is Strong’s H3940. Its first use is in Genesis 15 with the first use of the “word of the Lord” in connection with the covenant where God unilaterally walks through the cut animals as a “burning lamp”:
Genesis 15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Recall Deborah is a picture of the Spirit filled word of God and she was from Lapidoth which is the plural of Strong’s H3940.
Judges 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
Deborah’s partner is Baraq = lightning and the living creatures cast forth lighting as per Ezekiel 1:13.
Ezekiel says they have straight feet:
Ezekiel 1:7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
Strong’s H3477=” straight” “right”. God’s word is straight/ right.
Psa 33:4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.
The cherubim follow the Spirit of God. The Word of God is filled with His Spirit and can only go where the Spirit goes.
Ezekiel 1:12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
When Ezekiel describes the movement of the cherubim they move in an orderly fashion.
Ezekiel 1:15-21 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. 16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. 18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. 19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. 21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
The hebrew word dabar meaning “word”carries with it the idea of order. God’s word is His order.
When the Bible is describing the 4 living creatures/cherubim, the Bible is describing their function. And their function matched the function of the Word of God. It protects and saves. It declares His holiness. It is right and true. It judges the heart of people. It declares His plan for salvation through His Son Jesus, the Messiah, fully God and fully man. Its goal is to bless us.
If the cherubim and the flaming sword are one in the same then numbers should support that.
Cherubim = Strong’s H3742.
The first verse in the Bible with a gematria of 3742 is also the first mention of manna:
Exodus 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.
What is manna? There are a few Bible centered publications that are called “daily manna”. Manna is your daily feeding of the word of God just as Israel was fed daily in the wilderness with the manna. Jesus, the “Word of God” calls Himself this bread from heaven that gives eternal life/tree of life.
John 6:33-35 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Hebrews 4:12 is about the word of God living. It is as I said the verse that started me down this rabbit hole. If you would subtract 3742 verses (Cherubim Strong’s 3742) you would come to verse 29285 which starts this whole discourse Jesus has about Him being the manna/bread from heaven that gives eternal life.
John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Curiously, the verse before the above verse, Jesus talks of the loaves of bread they just ate and later he says the manna is bread but He uses the word “meat” in here which is Strong’s G1035 and if you switch to the OT Strong’s H1035 = Bethlehem = the house of bread where Jesus is from.
Verse 3742 is about redemption money. Redemption money is the price paid to redeem that individual. Jesus paid the price, He paid the redemption money for us. It is the central theme of the Word of God.
Numbers 3:49 And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:
In the NT “the word” seems to typically be used as the message of Christ paying this redemption money for us.
Acts 14:25 And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
The four living creatures are first mentioned in the NT in verse 30775. If you subtract 3742 verses you come to a man healed by the name of Jesus:
Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
His name is the Word of God.
Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
There are more number correlations and hopefully I will show them in a future post. I believe this one got long enough

The Word of God (Part 4)
written by Will Schumacher
Numbers in the Bible contain truth. They can never contradict the truths of the Bible, but they complement them and at times lead you to “connect the dots” to understand them better.
God placed cherubims with a flaming sword in the garden to keep the way of the Tree of Life:
Genesis 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the Tree of Life.
The Bible says the sword of the spirit is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
In Genesis 3:24 Strong’s H2719 = sword.
If you go to the Bible Wheel site you can see a gematria breakdown of Ephesians 6:17. (The site is back up)
Go here:
If you look at the in-text gematria of “sword of the spirit” it is 2719. (803 +770 + 1146)
The gematria is a perfect match to the Strong’s number of the sword in Genesis 3:24.
It would seem the flaming sword keeping the way to the tree of life is the word of God.
Strong’s H3858 = ”flaming” as in the “flaming sword” of Genesis 3:24.
It is used only 1 other time in the Bible. This verse would seem unrelated at first, but it is verse 1697 and Strong’s H1697 = ”word” as in “word of the Lord”.
Exodus 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
In the above verse “enchantments” is Strong’s H3858.
So Strong’s H3858 =“flaming” or “enchantments”. It has the idea of something magical, divine, or spiritual behind it, something beyond this physical world.
The flaming sword keeping the way to the Tree of Life is something spiritual and divine-just as the word of God is spiritual and divine.
The first verse in the Bible with a gematria of 3858 is Genesis 15:2.
Genesis 15:2 And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
Recall the “word of the Lord” first appears the verse prior.
Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
The first use of Strong’s G3858 =”receive” is with “the word”.
Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
Numbers unequivocally associate the “flaming sword” keeping the way to the Tree of Life with the word of God.
Further notice verse 1697 from the end of the Bible.
Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
This verse again seems to not have much to do with the word of God.
But its gematria is 5440. Strong’s G5440 = phylacteries.
Phylacteries are small boxes containing the word of God worn on the foreheads and arms. They are based on God’s command for His Word to be “frontlets” between their eyes and signs on their hands.
Exodus 13:16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deuteronomy 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
In the NT we see God sealing our foreheads with His word by the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
Revelation 4:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
God has glorified Himself through His word.

Jesus, the Sweet Word of God
written by Will Schumacher
The Bible says Jesus is the Word of God. The first time is in John 1:1.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The last time is in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
In the Old Testament the “word” of God is Strong’s H1697. The phrase “The Word of God” in Revelation 19:13 has a matching gematria of 1697.
The verse jump from the first time Jesus is called the “Word” to the last time is 4985.
Strong’s H4985=sweet.
Recall Strong’s H1683 = Deborah is the feminine version of the noun “dabar/word”. She is a picture of the Spirit filled Word of God. Strong’s H1682 is also Deborah meaning “bee”. Bees make honey whose sweetness is compared to God’s word.
Psalm 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
The above word “sweeter” is Strong’s H4966 whose root is Strong’s 4985=sweet.
The first verse in the Bible containing Strong’s H4985=sweet is a type of what Jesus did on the cross for us.
Exodus 15:25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
The Torah/word of God is likened to water in the Bible because just as the Word is essential to life so is water. The Torah/word had become bitter. Man had taken God’s Torah/word and turned it into a detailed set of rules and regulations that no one could keep. Jesus condemned the Jewish leaders of His time with what they had turned the Word of God into. Jesus made the waters sweet again. We are saved by faith alone through the sweetness of God’s grace and it is available to all. Praise God for what Jesus did for us!
When the water is turned sweet the Israelites end up at this dreamy oasis in the wilderness called Elim.
Exodus 15:27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
Elim is Strong’s H362. Verse 362 of the Bible is the first use of the “Word of the Lord” in the Bible. It is Genesis 15 where God unilaterally makes the covenant with Abram just as Jesus unilaterally fulfilled His covenant with us and made the waters sweet. And again as my prior post showed the covenant of Genesis 15 is tied to Deborah and Barak also.
Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
What further ties this all together is the gematria of John 1:1 where Jesus is first called the Word and the gematria of Exodus 15:25 where the waters/word is made sweet is identical. Both verses have a gematria of 3627.
And last of all, the first verse in the Bible with a gematria of 4985 (matching the verse jump and “sweet”) is about Deborah and Barak.
Judges 4:10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
Why is Jesus called the Word of God? Because He is the exact representation of God and His Word. The Hebrew language is a concrete language. It doesn’t deal with abstract ideas like our Greek influenced language does. The Hebrew language is all about the five senses. John shows this Hebrew mindset in 1 John 1:1 when describing Jesus as the Word.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

Deborah & Barack
Written by Will Schumacher
I believe there is a strong chance the light that God created the first day is His word, the whole Bible, the whole story of redemption.
The first words God spoke were “Let there be light”. The gematria of this phrase is 232.
The gematria of “the Word of the Lord” in Hebrew is also 232 matching “let there be light”.
The Bible says the word of the Lord is light.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
This light that God created the first day is Strong’s H216. This is the same word used for light in relation to the word of God.
Chapter 216 of the Bible is the song of Deborah and Barak.
Strong’s H1696 is the verb “dabar” meaning “to speak.”
Strong’s H1697 is the masculine noun dabar meaning “word”.
Strong’s H1683=Deborah= feminine version of the noun dabar/word.
The Spirit of God is always in the feminine form so I see Deborah symbolically as the word of God empowered by the Holy Spirit.
There are two Deborah’s in the Bible.
The first is the nurse of Rebekah:
Genesis 35:8 But Deborah, Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.
Rebekah is a type of the virgin bride of Christ. She is a picture of the Church in its perfected state that God sees us in once we have been covered with the righteousness of Christ. Deborah the nurse of Rebekah is a picture of the Holy Spirit nursing us with the word of God.
Strong’s H1682 is also the Hebrew word “Deborah” meaning “bee”. Bees make honey and the word of God is likened to honey:
Psalm 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Genesis 35:8 is the first mention of Deborah in the Bible. The gematria of the verse is 6071. There are 2 other verses in the OT with the identical gematria.
The first verse with the identical gematria to the first mention of Deborah, who is a type of the word of the Lord, has the phrase “the word of the Lord” in it:
2 Kings 7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
The second verse with the matching gematria is about a picture of the preincarnate Christ who has a face of “lightning”. It also contains Strong’s H1697=”words”:
Daniel 10:6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Strong’s H1300=”lightning”. The second Deborah sings the song of chapter 216 with Barak=”lightning” which is Strong’s H1301.
The root of Barak is Strong’s H1299=”cast forth” seen in this verse about lightning cast forth.
Psalm 144:6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
So lightning is light that is cast forth. Barak is one who casts forth light. Jesus is light, he casts forth light.
So Barak is a type of Christ and Deborah the Spirit filled word of the Lord.
Deborah is a woman of Lapidoth. (KJV says wife but since Lapidoth is feminine it most likely should be rendered as “woman” vs “wife”).
Judges 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
Strong’s H3941=Lapidoth=feminine plural of Strong’s H3940=”flame”, “torch”, “lamp”.
So Deborah is a woman of “lamps”.
Strong’s H3940 is used for the first time in Genesis 15 where God unilaterally made a covenant with Abram:
Genesis 15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Genesis 15 is also where the “word of the Lord” first appears in the Bible.
Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward
Further Genesis 15:1, which is the 1st appearance of the “word of the Lord” has a gematria of 3276.
Deborah and Barak defeat the armies of Sisera but Jael is the one who kills Sisera.
Judges 4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
Jael is Strong’s H3278 whose root is Strong’s H3276 matching the gematria of Genesis 15:1.
There is just an incredible interconnectedness of Deborah and the “word of the Lord”.
Also in Daniel 10:6, tied to Deborah, Jesus had eyes like lamps (H3940) of fire. The lamps of fire is the Holy Spirit. Jesus has Holy Spirit eyes just as Deborah is the word of God being used in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Revelation 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God

Word of the Lord
written by Will Schumacher
An interesting concept I heard from Rabbi David Fohrmann is that when reading the Bible we need to understand that it is first and foremost about God relating to His people and although it contains history it is not a literal story of the history of His people.
In the creation account God creates a “light” on the first day. Yet the sun and moon were not created until the 4th day.
Genesis 1:3-5 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:16-19 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
An interesting question is what is the light that God created the first day?
The Bible Wheel site is open sporadically I have found. At the Bible Wheel site, it says the first words God spoke were “Let there be light”. The gematria of this phrase is 232.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
The gematria of “the Word of the Lord” in Hebrew is also 232 matching “let there be light”.
Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
In Genesis 1:4 “the light” that was created was an “aleph tav light”.
Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
The gematria of the “aleph tav light” is 613.
The Torah has 613 commands. This 613 number is tied to the Torah.
Both “the word of the Lord” and the Torah are light.
Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law (torah) is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The word “torah” would be better translated as instruction.
This light that God created the first day is Strong’s H216. This is the same word used for light in relation to the word of God.
Chapter 216 of the Bible is the song of Deborah and Barak.
Judges 5:1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
Strong’s H1683 is Deborah. Its root is the word dabar -meaning “word” as in the “word of the Lord”.
So the word is Light (strong’s H216). Chapter 216 is about the Deborah, a picture of the Word of the Lord.
The word dabar and thus Deborah have to do with order. Deborah means “orderly motion”. The ten commandments are actually the ten words (dabar).
Exodus 34:28 And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments (Hebrew word dabar = word).
When you look at the creation account God is putting things in order. Days 1-3 He separates light and darkness, then water from the heavens, and then land from the seas. Days 4-6 He creates lights for day and night, then fills the waters and heavens with creatures, and then fills the lands with creatures.
The Bible says Jesus is the light.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
The Bible says Jesus is the Word.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Jesus’ light is life and it shined in darkness.
John 1:4-5 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
The words of Jesus are life just as His light is life.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Paul calls people children of light and darkness also.
Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Bible students disagree on if the light that God created the first day is to be taken literal or figurative. I would argue that numbers and the Bible itself point to this light as the word of God which illuminates us and brings us out of darkness. This word is the whole Bible, the whole story of redemption, all 31102 verses.
The Hebrew language is a concrete language. It is not abstract like ours. A concrete language Is one which deals with the 5 senses. Everything is described by what you can see, hear, feel, taste, and touch. Jesus was called God’s word because He is how we can see, hear, feel, taste and touch God. God’s word is not an abstract idea.
I want to do a few posts on the Word of God. It is alive and living. It is not an invisibIe abstract idea. Paul calls it living. The word “quick” means living.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart

Why Rebekah is a Virgin
written by Will Schumacher
God oversaw the division of the scriptures. He hid His truth in this division through numbers to bring Him glory.
Studying these hidden truths through numbers, Rachel is the bride needing redemption and living through this life of tribulation being sanctified.
Rebekah on the other hand is the virgin bride. She has been espoused to her husband and become one with Him. In Jewish law a couple espoused to each other are as good as married. They are one. The Father sees us as pure just as His Son because we are one. We are waiting for the groom to come back to get us to complete the marriage.
Rebekah the virgin bride is saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit and thus a virgin spiritually. God can only reside through His Spirit in someone who is a virgin spiritually.
Rebekah is used once and is perfectly placed in the NT in relation to other verses to show the different truths God has hidden. I have written on her more than any other.
If Rebekah filled/sealed with Holy Spirit makes her a virgin then I looked at the verse jump from the Holy Spirit filling the first believers to the only mention of Rebekah in the NT (New Testament).
Acts 2:4 is verse 26954 and Rebekah’s only mention is verse 28166. The verse jump is 1212.
ACTS 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Strong’s G1212 = evident. It is used in verse 29114 which is 948 verses after Rebekah. Galatians 3:11 is about the only way we are saved, by faith. It seems a perfect match to Rebekah the virgin bride.
Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Strongs’ H948 = fine (white) linen
In the New Testament the bride is clothed in fine white linen which is the righteousness of the saints.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Revelation 19:8 where “fine linen, clean, and white” is used, is 2860 verses after the only mention of the virgin bride Rebekah in the NT.
Strong’s H2860 = bridegroom.
Notice its use in the OT (Old Testament) about the bride decked in “garments of salvation, and a robe of righteousness”.
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
This all meshes perfectly. The virgin bride of Christ is only saved by faith. There is nothing we can bring to be saved. God can not dwell in us as we are. We have to become one with Christ and be covered with His righteousness. We are a new creation.
You can read my other posts about Rebekah and see the connections to her being a virgin, the 24 elders, and the importance of her carrying a pitcher of water. It all relates. To God be the glory.

Phineas & Jesus with a Sword in His Mouth
written by Will Schumacher
My last 2 posts included information about Phineas. He is a type of Christ I believe at His first and second coming. When he put the spear through into the belly of the man of Israel and the woman as one and received the covenant of peace, I believe this typed Jesus’ first coming and atoning death. When he led Israel in God’s holy war of vengeance/wrath and killed the 5 kings of Midian and the false prophet Balaam, I believe this typed Jesus’ second coming as Revelation 19 lays out.
Phineas’ name means “mouth of brass/serpent”. (I use Abarim productions quite a bit when looking at name meanings). If you were to do a search on the meaning of brass in the Bible it would turn up “judgement” or “righteous judgement”. The bronze altar and the bronze laver are usually alluded to along with the bronze serpent lifted up in the wilderness.
Abarim productions points out that the word for “brass” and “serpent” are the same root. They believe the meaning of the root is “intuitive knowledge”. The serpent in Genesis 3 was called “subtil” or “crafty”. It had a kind of “sneaky, crafty intuitive knowledge”. If brass represents God’s “righteous judgement” it would make sense since God Himself is the only one who can discern right from wrong and good from bad. He alone can judge righteously, we can not.
So, Phineas’ name would mean “mouth of righteous judgement”.
We find in the book of Revelation that Jesus has a mouth with a two-edged sword.
Revelation 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Revelation 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
Revelation 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Revelation 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
This two edged sword is the Word of God.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
So Phineas’ mouth of righteous judgement is a type of Jesus’ righteous judgement by the Word of God.
In the letters to the 7 churches of Revelation Jesus describes Himself as having this sword in His mouth to the church of Pergamos in Revelation 2:12 and 2:16. In that letter he refers to Balaam, the type of false prophet that the Phineas led army killed. This further identifies the link we should see between Phineas and Jesus.
Revelation 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
In Revelation 19 Jesus is seen at His second coming with the sword of His mouth. He proceeds to throw the beast and false prophet into the Lake of Fire just as the Phineas led army killed the 5 kings and Balaam.
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Phineas is Strong’s H6372.
Verse 6372 is about the inheritance of Joshua (Hebrew name of Jesus) the Son of Nun after he conquered the Promised Land.
Joshua 19:50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
There is only 1 Bible verse with a gematria of 6372 and again it is about inheritance:
Numbers 18:24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the Lord, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
At the second coming of Christ the enemy is defeated and we are to reign/take up our inheritance with Him.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years

Phineas, the Broken Vav, Revelation 6
written by Will Schumacher
In my last post I wrote about Phineas. He is a type of Christ. In his zeal he puts a javelin/spear through a man and a woman into their belly and makes an atonement for Israel and God gives him a “covenant of peace.”
Numbers 25:12-13 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: 13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
The Hebrew word for “peace” in the above “covenant of peace” is written with a broken vav. I have read that this is the only time in the Bible that the letter vav is written this way. Vav is the 6th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The letter vav means “to join”, “nail”, or “and”.
The first time a vav, the 6th letter, is found in scripture is in the first verse and it is the first letter of the 6th word, “and”, which is joining “the heavens” and “the earth”.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The heavens are the divine, spiritual realm and the earth the physical realm. Jesus is considered “the vav” because He is joining the heavens and the earth.
In the story of Phineas as a type of Christ, the broken vav is seen to represent Christ, the vav, broken for our sins when he was “vav/nailed” to the cross.
The most common gematria of Jesus is 888. Strong’s G2247 =”nails” is only used twice in the NT and is in the same verse in the book of John and both times the in-text gematria is 888.
John 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
I have posted on the missing vav in the past also. Jesus is seen as the restorer of the missing vav.
In Genesis 2:4 the word for “generations” is spelled as it should. After Genesis 2:4, and therefore after the Fall, the word for “generations” is spelled defectively with a “missing vav” until we come to the line of Perez in Ruth 4:18.
Genesis 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
Ruth 4:18-22 Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron, 19 And Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab, 20 And Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon, 21 And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, 22 And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
Ruth 4:18 and the “restored vav” lead to the birth of King David. King David, who God made the covenant of kingship with, is a type of Jesus. Jesus is called the “Son of David”. Perez means “to make a breach”. God made a breach in mankind through Jesus and restored the “vav” that joins the heavens and earth that was lost through the fall.
The running total gematria to the word “generation” in Ruth 4:18 is 888, again matching the most common gematria of Jesus.
The word “vav” means “nail” or “hook”. Both a nail and hook join one thing to another.
The first time we find the word “vav”, it is joining the curtain/veil to a wood post in the Tabernacle.
Exodus 26:32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.
In the New Testament this curtain/veil that is joined/vav to the wood post is seen as a picture of the flesh of Christ joined/vav to the wood cross broken for the remission of sins and access to the Father.
Hebrews 10:19-20 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Jesus is the vav that joins heaven and earth. Jesus calls Himself as much when He says He is the ladder joining heaven and earth that Jacob saw.
Genesis 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
John 1:51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
Jesus was the vav broken for us to give us peace. Jesus is the one who restored the vav, and thus restored our relationship to the Father.
Vav is the 6th letter and thus tied to the number 6. The number 6 is also tied to the crucifixion of Christ.
Jesus’ anointing for his death took place 6 days before His sacrifice.
John 12:1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
Jesus was presented by Pilate to the Jews at the sixth hour and this is where they yelled for Jesus to be crucified.
John 19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
While Jesus was being crucified darkness came over the land beginning in the sixth hour.
Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
I have posted how the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet correspond with the 22 chapters of the book of Revelation. The 6th letter vav then corresponds to the 6th chapter of the book of Revelation. The 6th chapter of Revelation is about the 6 seals. The 6th seal contains 6 verses.
So many sixes. Is the 6th seal about the Vav, Jesus Christ, broken for our sins and joining heaven and earth?
The first verse of the 6th seal refers to a “great earthquake” and the sun becoming “black.”
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
The earth quaked when Jesus died and the veil was torn. As stated earlier the veil is a type of Jesus’ flesh torn, just like the vav was broken in the story of Phineas. The sun was black/dark from the 6th hour while He was on the cross. Again, vav is tied to the number 6.
Matthew t 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
Matthew 27:51 also says the “rocks rent”. The word for rock is “petra” meaning “a heap of rocks” or “a mountain of rock”. You could say the mountain of rock was rent/divided/moved. The 6th seal also speaks of mountains moving.
Rev 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Mountains are symbolic of kingdoms in the Bible. I believe what the Bible is saying is the kingdoms of this world were brought down and moved out of their place because the kingdom of God had been established by what Jesus did on the cross.
Daniel 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
I was interested in the verse count from Matthew 27:51 stating the veil was torn, the earth quaked and the rocks rent to Revelation 6:12, the first verse explaining the 6th seal and referencing the great earthquake. It also stated the sun became black, which I believe is the Father mourning for the Son, and the moon became blood, which I think may reference Jesus blood sacrifice since the moon reflects the light of the sun just as Jesus as fully man reflected the light of the Father.
The verse jump is 6625. Verse 6625 is interesting since it is the Song of Deborah celebrating the victory over Sisera, a type of the Beast of Revelation. Strong’s G5516 =”666” and Strong’s H5516 = Sisera.
Judges 5:1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
Judges 5 is chapter 216 of the Bible. 216 = 6 x 6 x 6
The woman used a nail (Vav means nail) to pierce his head.
Judges 5:26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
Jesus was nailed to the cross at Golgotha. Golgotha means “head” or “skull”. The cross was like a nail or tent peg pierced into the head.
The 6th and final verse of the 6th seal in the 6th chapter is also interesting.
Revelation 6:17 or the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Its gematria is 4685. Verse 4685 actually refers back to the story of Phineas and the covenant of peace/broken vav.
Numbers 31:20 And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood.
Numbers 31 is a holy war against Midian for seducing the Israelites.
Numbers 31:2-3 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. 3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the Lord of Midian.
Phineas led this holy war.
Numbers 31:6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
This war was because the Midianite women seduced the Israelites and there was a plague.
Numbers 31:16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord.
The plague was the plague that Phineas stopped in Numbers 25. Cozbi, the woman killed with the spear was a Midianite. After the incident of Numbers 25, God tells Moses to kill the Midianites. The command is carried out in chapter 31.
Numbers 25:16-18 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 17 Vex the Midianites, and smite them: 18 For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake.
Numbers 31 contains elements similar to the book of Revelation. You have 5 kings of Midian killed who would seem to be a type of the beast of the sea. Balaam killed who would be a type of the beast of the land/false prophet. Phineas is leading with trumpets. 1000 men are chosen from each of the 12 tribes for 12000 total. In Revelation there is 12000 from each tribe for 144000. Only the virgins are saved just as in Revelation the spiritual virgins are saved.
So it would seem the 7 trumpets of Revelation, which is the Church age of the 144,000 sealed and led by the Holy Spirit, is like Phineas dividing out the 12000 Israelites and leading with a trumpet. We are in a spiritual battle.
The 7 bowls of wrath and the throwing the beast and false prophet into the lake of fire would be like the killing of the 5 kings and Balaam then.

Phineas, the Spear, Rebekah, Rachel, Eve
written by Will Schumacher
I wrote about Eve a while back and I won’t rehash that here, but I believe that was an interesting post.
Eve is the first picture of the bride of Christ. Eve ate of the fruit and gave to the man. The Church ate of the fruit and “gave to Christ” for He suffered the consequences of our sins on the cross. Adam slept and Eve came out of his side (rib also means side). Christ slept, a picture of death in the Bible, and out of His side (also meaning rib) came blood and water. Christ is called the second Adam in 1 Corinthians 15.
Genesis 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
The blood from the side of Christ symbolizes His atonement for our sins, the water symbolizes the “life giving Spirit.”
John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins- a hint to the Lamb of God clothing us with His righteousness through His blood.
Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
There is one other notable story about a spear and atonement in the bible. Phineas puts a javelin which can also means “spear” through a man and a woman into their belly (where the life giving Spirit will pour out from the believer) and makes an atonement for Israel and God gives him a “covenant of peace.”
Numbers 25:6-13 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; 8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. 9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand. 10 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy. 12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: 13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
Phineas’ action is obviously a type of Christ atonement. Phineas is “zealous” just as Christ was. He receives a covenant of peace and Jesus is the Prince of Peace who has given us peace. Phineas received an everlasting priesthood. Jesus is a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek according to Hebrews 7:17.
I have written a number of posts on Rebekah as a type of the virgin bride. She is Strong’s G4479.
This verse on Phineas putting a spear through the man and woman as one is verse 4479.
Numbers 25:7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
This story on Phineas putting a spear through the “man of Israel and the woman” is the same story as the spear put into Jesus’ side at the crucifixion and blood and water coming out. It is the same story of God taking the woman from the side of the man and they are related to Rebekah the virgin bride as a type of the virgin Church.
Rebekah is a spiritual virgin because she is a new creation. Rebekah is mentioned one time in the New Testament in the 2937th verse from the end. Strong’s G2937 =”creation/creature”as used in:
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
We are a new creature because we have been crucified with Christ.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
We have to be a new creature because the law states the high priest must marry a virgin.
Leviticus 21:13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
I believe the story of Phineas is the story of Christ laying His life down by His own power. “The man of Israel and the woman” speared together as one are a type of Jesus taking on our sin and us being crucified together. Out comes blood/atonement and water/new life of the Spirit. It is a new creation event like Eve born perfect out of the side of Adam.
The first mention of Rebekah in the Bible is verse 571 with a gematria of 2333.
Strong’s H2333 means “lifegiving” or “living place”. Strong’s H2332 =”Eve” the “lifegiver”. They are both spelled the same in Hebrew and mean the same. The first mention of Rebekah is tied to Eve. Rebekah is a new creation.
If you were to add 2333 verses to the only use of Rebekah in the New Testament you would come to this verse:
2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
The above verse is the only use of Strong’s G5459 and Strong’s G1306.
From a previous post on Rebekah and the number 5459:
Rebekah- a picture of the bride of Christ- her name means to ensnare (by her beauty).
Strong’s G4479 =Rebekah
1st verse with gematria 4479:
Deuteronomy 21:11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife;
That was Bible verse 5459.
Strong’s H5459, peculiar treasure
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.
G5459 = day star which is the planet Venus, also known as goddess of beauty
Notice this 1306 number:
Rebekah is only mentioned 1 time in the NT. 1306 verses before Rebekah’s only mention is the only gospel recording of the spear in the side of Jesus that brought out the water and the blood.
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
Further, 2 Peter1:19 is verse 7354 of the New Testament. Strong’s H7354 = Rachel. Rebekah and Rachel are the 2 strongest female types of the church I have seen. Rebekah seems tied to the virgin state we are as the redeemed and Rachel seems tied to the act of redemption.
Rachel is Stong’s G4478 and verse 4478 is also in this Phineas story:
Numbers 25:6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation
John 19:34 is verse 4243 from the end. Jesus, as our high priest, has just died and accomplished His goal of atonement. The wrath of God is satisfied for His bride. Notice verse 4243 is about Aaron the high priest accomplishing atonement and staying the plague:
Numbers 16:48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
Strong’s G4243 = ambassadors. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 we are called a new creation/Rebekah. 3 verses later after saying Christ died for us we are called to be ambassadors.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Strong’s H4243 =”Mehir” meaning “price” from Strong’s H4242 as used in the living water we are to buy without price, the living water Jesus spoke of in John 7:37-39:
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
There is more to this Phineas story that I hope to be able to post on next.
What is also interesting about Venus is that it is the only planet named for a female god. There is a website on the Bethlehem star at Jesus birth which claims the wise men followed Jupiter, the king planet and part of what it saw was a conjunction with Venus. So you would have seen the king/Jupiter becoming one with the bride/Venus heralding the birth of the bridegroom king and redeemer

Revelation 5 & Judges 14: Samson Kills a Lion
written by Will Schumacher
In Revelation 5 Jesus is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah but is curiously shown as the Lamb.
Revelation 5:5-6 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
The verse where Jesus takes the book (verse 7) has a gematria of 4966. I discussed in my last post the tie to Shechem being Strong’s G4966. Reading it may be helpful. This post is about the tie in to Strong’s H4966.
Strong’s H4966 =”sweet”. It is used the first 2 times in the Bible in Judges 14 which is the story of Samson killing a lion and then coming back to find bees and honey in the dead lion. Samson asks a riddle of the Philistines in this story of the lion. Here are the 2 verses using Strong’s H4966.
Judges 14:14,18 And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle. 18 And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion? and he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had not found out my riddle.
The third time Strong’s H4966 is used it answers the question put forth in verse 18, “what is sweeter than honey?”
Psalm 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
In the Bible what is sweeter than honey? God’s word: His laws, statutes, commandments and judgements.
Psalm 19:7-9 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether
In Revelation 5 this verse has a gematria of 6363:
Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
In Judges 14 this verse about the riddle of the lion has a matching gematria of 6363:
Judges 14:16 And Samson's wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
So two numbers from Revelation 5 about our redemption by Christ the Lion of the tribe of Judah pictured as a lamb match to the story of Samson and the lion in Judges 14. I believe the story of Samson and the lion is the story of Christ on the cross redeeming us.
There are 2 possibilities of who the lion symbolizes in this story. Satan is called a roaring lion trying to devour in 1 Peter 5:8. Jesus is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah only one time in the bible and that is in Revelation 5 whose numbers tie of Judges 14.
I believe the lion Samson kills is a type of Jesus. How does Samson as a type of Christ kill a lion as a type of Christ? I believe that is answered by Jesus Himself when He says He lays down His own life and He takes it up again. No one else has the authority to kill the Son of God, only He does.
John 10:17-18 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Samson met the lion at Timnath. Timnath was given to Judah per Joshua 15:57. So this was a lion in/of the tribe of Judah just as Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Judges 14:5 Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
Per the above verse it was a “young” lion. Strong’s H3715 =”young”. Its root is Strong’s H3722 =”pitch” or “covered” as in the pitch or atonement that covered Noah’s ark. Is this young lion a type of Christ covered in “atonement”?
The verse stating that young lion was killed has a gematria of 3468. Strong’s H3468 =”salvation”. It is the same root that forms the Hebrew name that Jesus comes from meaning “salvation”.
Judges 14:6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
When Samson returns a “swarm” of bees and honey were in the carcase:
Judges 14:8 And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.
As alluded to earlier in this post the honey is a type of the Word of God. Out of Christ’s death came God’s Word that we are redeemed through His blood by our faith.
There was also a “swarm” of bees. Strong’s H5712 =”swarm”. It also means “assembly” or “congregation”, as in the “congregation of Israel”. Its first use in the Bible is in a verse referencing the “passover lamb” which is Christ, our Passover Lamb:
Exodus 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
Also on the meaning of a “bee” in the Hebrew mind from Abarim Publications:
“Tradition and most Bible commentators and translators (including Jones' Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names) assume that the bee was known after a derivation of the verb דבר, meaning to speak, because of the sound a bee makes when it flies. This is highly unlikely for two reasons.
First, the bee is not the only creature that makes a sound, or even buzzes. Calling a bee but no other insect a talker would show an imprecision that is ultimately foreign to the Hebrew language.
Secondly, even in Bible times, the bee was culturally defined as a producer of honey. Honey was the only available sweetener in those days, and honey was recognized as a great source of strength (1 Samuel 14:27). Where milk is compared to the initial nutrition of a new believer (1 PETER 2:2), honey serves the die-hards. Hence Canaan was known as the land flowing with milk and honey (Exodus 3:8), and the judgments of the Lord, as well as his words, were deemed sweeter than honey (Psalm 19:10, 119:103). King David reckoned unity in the House of the Lord sweet (Psalm 55:14); Ezekiel tastes a scroll that was given to him by The Word Of God, and it tastes sweet as honey (3:3), and the same happens to John the Revelator (REVELATION 10:10).
Another prominent insect in the Bible is the fly, which also buzzes. The Hebrew word for fly is זבב (zebub), which serves as segment of the name Beelzebub, meaning Lord Of The Flies. The difference between the kingdom of God and the whatever-dom of satan shows clearly in the difference between the bee and the fly: bees have a house, and operate within a complex colony. Bees like flowers and help them reproduce, make honey, speak a language, care for offspring, and are armed. Flies are homeless, aren't social, don't cooperate, like dung and decaying flesh, make nothing, speak no language, don't care for their offspring, and are not armed.
Also note that bees can only function as a society. There is no such thing as a solitary bee, which makes honey on its own out of the sheer perfection of its private brilliance. Instead, the bee is a creature that consists of countless many individuals, who venture about their world and do their little ordinary thing without having much sense of any difference between them and the whole hive. Said otherwise: bees neither have Nobel Prizes nor Superbee comic strips, nor do they imagine to stand on the shoulders of giants.”
Judges 14:8 above is verse 6918. Stong’s H6918 =”holy”. It’s first use is in a verse stating that God’s “congregation/church” is to be a kingdom of Priests:
Exodus 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Recall one of the verses from Revelation 5 that pointed to Judges 14 was an echo of Exodus 19:6 -
Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Lastly Judges 14 is verse 6911 to 6930 of the Bible. Verse 6930 to 6911 from the end of the bible is Matt 27:41-62 which is the passion of the Christ.
The story of Judges 14 is clearly the story of Revelation 5 and the story of what Christ did for us. The swarm of bees producing honey from the death of the Lion of Judah is the congregation/church of God that has been redeemed and is filled with the Word of God that is sweeter than honey. Lord allow me to produce a sweetness to the people you have placed around me that I may glorify your mighty name.

Shechem & Revelation 5, the Book of Life
written by Will Schumacher
The Father holds a book in Revelation 5.
Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed to open the book.
Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
However Jesus is pictured as a Lamb slain, not as the Kingly Lion when He is described.
Revelation 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Jesus then takes possession of the book.
Revelation 5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
When Jesus takes possession of the book the 4 beasts and 24 elders fall down and worship Him for their redemption and the realized promise of becoming kings and priests who shall reign with Christ on the earth.
Revelation 5:9-10 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
The focus seems to be on what Christ accomplished through His death and resurrection and what that in turn accomplished for His bride. The book must be the Book of Life.
Revelation 5:7 above where Jesus takes possession of the Book of Life has a gematria of 4966.
The most famous verse in all the Bible and a perfect match to Jesus as the Lamb of God dying on the cross to save sinners and be written in the Book of Life is verse 4966 from the end of the Bible.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Interesting that Revelation 5:7 is verse 316 from the end of the Bible and a match to John 316.
Strong’s G4966 = Shechem.
Shechem is important to the covenant God made with His people.
The only use of Shechem in the New Testament is about Joesph’s bones.
Acts 7:16 And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
I have written about Joseph’s bones in prior posts. He believed in the promises of God, therefore he commanded them to take his bones when they left Egypt.
Shechem is the place of the first promise of God to Abram that he and his seed would inherit the land.
Genesis 12:6-7 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. 7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.
Shechem is where the covenant was renewed after Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land and gave them their inheritance.
Josh 24:1 And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.
Joshua, at this same time, buries Joseph’s bones in Shechem. Joseph trusted God to keep His promise to Abraham and it was fulfilled as he was buried in Shechem after Israel received their inheritance.
Joshua 24:32 And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
Joseph is a strong type of Christ at His first coming. He was sold into a pit by his brothers just as Christ was sold into death/pit by His brothers. Joseph then rises out of the pit and becomes the second in command over all Egypt just as Christ rose from the dead and became second in command under the Father. The story of Joseph being sold begins at Shechem. It ends at Shechem when his bones are buried in the Promised Land at Shechem.
Genesis 37:13-14 And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I. 14 And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.
Shechem is not only important in that it is about the covenant of God with His people, but it is also about His faithfulness despite our unfaithfulness.
Shechem is the valley between Mt Ebal and Mt Gerizim. God commanded Israel to speak the blessings on Mt Gerizim and the curses on Mt Ebal when they came into the land. They were thus spoken over Shechem where God first promised the land to Abram.
Deuteronomy 11:29 And it shall come to pass, when the Lord thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal
Later Jacob comes to Shechem and buys a plot of land. Shechem the son of Hamor defiles Dinah here. The phrase “Shechem son of Hamor” has a gematria of 666.
Genesis 34:2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her
The gematria of this verse is 3390 matching the strong’s number H3390 = Jerusalem. Dinah is a picture of Israel/Church. Just as Shechem defiled Dinah, the beast system wants to defile us.
Later in Judges 8, Gideon had a son by a concubine in Shechem and his name was Abimelech.
Judges 8:31 And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.
Abimelech kills the 70 sons of Gideon and the Shechemites follow Abimelech.
Judges 9:5-6 And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself. 6 And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.
Jotham then pronounces a curse over Abimelech and the Shechemites for allowing bramble to reign over them.
Judges 9:14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.
Judges 9:20 But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.
This prophecy is fulfilled. Abimelech’s head is crushed by a woman.
Judges 9:53 And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.
This “skull” is Strong’s H1538 = “gulgoleth”. Just as Jesus as the seed of the woman was to bruise the head of the serpent, Jesus bruised the head at Gulgotha.
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Matthew 27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
The story of Abimelech is the story of the cross defeating satan.
The message of the cross and the message of Shechem is that God is faithful to His covenant even though we have been unfaithful. We have chosen the bramble to reign over us. We deserve the curses. By God’s grace alone through Jesus, we have been redeemed and written in the Book of Life.

Jubal & Jabal
by Will Schumacher
Per my last post on Genesis 4, I believe the line of Cain is the history of the line of Judah and thus the history of Christ.
Jubal and Jabal are sons of Lamech by Adah. I believe they are a type of the 6000 year church, jew and gentile. They are mentioned in the following verse:
Genesis 4:20-21 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
Per my prior post, Adah =”adorn”. It is from Strong’s H5710. The bride of Christ is adorned with jewels in the Old Testament (Jerusalem) and the New Testament (New Jerusalem).
Jabal “dwells in tents”. This is the same word as “tabernacle” He dwells in the tabernacle of God. Jubal handles the harp and organ. What art the saints playing in the tabernacle of God in the book of Revelation, harps:
Genesis 4:20 about Jabal has a gematria of 1556. Jubal is Strong’s H3106.
Strong’s H1556 =”roll”. The first three times it is used in the Bible it is used in Genesis 29:
Genesis 29:3 And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place.
Genesis 29:8 And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep.
Genesis 29:10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.
Genesis 29:8 also has a gematria of 3106, matching the Strong’s number of Jubal. That seems noteworthy to have the numbers of Jubal and Jabal tied to one verse. It is as if the the Holy Spirit is saying Jabal and Jubal are represented by these sheep who are watered when the great stone is rolled from the mouth of the well.
Genesis 29 repeatedly emphasizes the importance of the stone being “rolled” away by mentioning it 3 times. Also it is called a “great stone”:
Genesis 29:2 And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth.
The main story of the Bible is Christ. The stone that was “rolled” away from Christ’s tomb was also called a “great stone”.
Matthew 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed:
Mark 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
Jacob rolling away the great stone from the well is a type of Jesus rolling away the stone from His tomb.
Jesus says He is the well of water at “Jacob’s well” when he meets the Samaritan women:
John 4 :14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
The sheep that are watered by Jacob when he rolls away the great stone is a type of Christ dying for our sins and conquering death signified by the rolling away of the great stone at His tomb. He is the well of water that waters His flock. Jabal and Jubal are a type of the flock/the church.
Further, Jabal not only dwells in tents/the tabernacle of God, he also has cattle.
Genesis 4:20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.
Strong’s H4735 =”cattle”. It’s root is interestingly is Strong’s H7069, which is the same root of Cain. It’s definition is something purchased or possessed in relation to livestock. In the Old Testament times of Abraham it represented your wealth:
Genesis 13:2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
The church is very “rich” also through Christ and His rolling away of the great stone:
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
Lastly, Genesis 4:21 has a gematria of 1657:
Genesis 4:21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
The number 1657 is kind of a hidden number. Most bible students readily identify the number 1656 with the flood and Noah’s ark since the flood came 1656 years from creation. The flood lasted 1 year and 10 days. The year 1657 form creation would then represent the salvation, safety and protection in the ark and the new creation.
Strong’s H1657 = Goshen. This is where the Israelites lived and were protected while God brought the plagues upon Egypt just as Noah and his family were protected in the ark while the plague of the flood was brought upon the ungodly world. Likewise, the church is now spiritually protected by God, and when He pours out His wrath we will also be physically protected by God.
Verse 1657 is about the deliverance of Israel from Egypt. We will be delivered from this world at His coming:
Exodus 6:1 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
Noah’s ark was covered inside and out with pitch.
Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Strong’s H3722 =”pitch”. It also means “atonement”, and is its’ root. As in Christ made an atonement for our sins and for the day of atonement, Tishri 10:
Tishri 10, the day of atonement, is a jubilee and ye shall proclaim liberty:
Leviticus 25:10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
Jubal and Jabal share the same root as the Jubilee (Strong’s H3104).
Strong’s G1657 =”liberty” also just as the jubilee, the root of Jabal and Jubal, means liberty. First use:
Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
We have been given liberty and we wait for our final liberty at His coming.
Lastly for the cherry on top, verse 1657 from the end of the Bible is the first mention of the book of life in the New Testament:
Philippians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Jubal was the father of those who play the harp with a gematria of 1657. The first time the harp is mentioned in the book of Revelation is when Jesus takes the 7 sealed book in His hands, which I believe 100% is the Book of Life. The 24 elders are the church just as Jubal and Jabal are:
Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
The numbers are so perfect. Jubal and Jabal are a type of the church living in the tabernacle of God, possessing great spiritual wealth, and live to praise God for His goodness and works, because He has redeemed us. Glory be to God.

The Number 4, Genesis 4, Judah & Jesus
Written by Will Schumacher
Per my prior post, Judah is the door by which we come to the yod-hey-vav-hey. Jesus from the tribe of Judah is that door. The number 4 in the Bible is used by God to show division of His physical creation.
I believe God oversaw the separating of the Bible into chapters and verses and its division by numbers have meaning. This idea never would have occurred to me except Clay began posting on this after his visions. It is something tangible that anyone can look at and make a decision on. If God did this, is it not a testament to His Greatness and the Bible’s authority?
The 4th verse of the Bible records the first division in the Bible when God divided light from darkness:
Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness
The 4th book of the Bible is called by the Jewish people “Bamidbar”, meaning “in the wilderness”. They were sustained by God for 40 years in the wilderness by manna and then entered the Promised Land. The wilderness was a time for testing. We are also in the “wilderness” being tested by God and sustained by Jesus the manna/bread of life as He divides those who are His from those who are not His and then we also will enter the eternal Promised Land.
The 4th chapter of the Bible shows a division in the Bible when Cain is marked and sent away. However there is more to this story. This is what I would like to show in this post.
Cain is a type of Judah/the jewish people and Abel is a type of Christ. It is the story of Christ as the lion of the tribe of Judah at His first coming and His second coming.
Recall Judah is the 4th son of Israel. His name is spelled the same as the sacred name of God except the 4th letter, dalet, is inserted in the 4th position.
The main story of the Bible is about Judah/the jewish leaders turning on their brother Jesus and having Him killed just as Cain killed his brother Abel.
Even the name of the disciple that betrayed Jesus is Judah - Judas Iscariot.
So to the story of Genesis 4.
Eve, the lifegiver, says she has “gotten” a man:
Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
Strong’s H7069 =”gotten”. It also means “purchased” just as God purchased Israel out of Egypt at the Passover:
Exodus 15:16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O Lord, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
Just as Jesus is the Door of the sheep and the Good Shepherd, Abel was a keeper of sheep:
Genesis 4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
God accepted Jesus’ offering as the Perfect Spotless Lamb just as He accepted Abel’s offering. Cain’s offering was not accepted just as the jewish leader’s offering of trying to keep the Law by themselves and making a bunch of other manmade laws was not accepted:
Genesis 4:4-5 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
After Cain kills Abel God tells him he will be a fugitive and vagabond. Rome destroyed the temple and Jerusalem in 70 AD and the Jewish people had no place to call their own. They became fugitives and vegabonds:
Genesis 4:12 Then thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
The Lord gave Cain a “mark”. This is Strong’s H226 also meaning “sign”. Judah/the jewish people have the sign of the Sabbath and have kept it to this day:
Genesis 4:15 And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.
Cain has a son Enoch and names the city he built Enoch. Enoch means “dedicated”. In the Bible the city that is dedicated is Jerusalem.
Genesis 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Coincidentally this city Cain built is the first city in the Bible. Cain was called a “man” by Eve in Genesis 4:1. So this was a “man’s city”. Judas who betrayed Jesus has the last name “Iscariot” which derives form 2 hebrew words meaning “man” and “city”.
The sons of Enoch.
Genesis 4:18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.
Notice the meaning of their names.
Irad =”city of witness”
Mehujael =”destroyed of God”
Methusael (this one seems harder to decipher) =possibly “asked/requested,desired of God”
Jerusalem, the dedicated/Enoch city, was to be a witness (Irad) to the nations of God’s greatness. It was then destroyed by God (Mehujael) twice because Judah had failed to be that witness. Quite possibly the name Methusael reflects Judah’s desire/request to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple and its glory as God’s people which we have partially miraculously seen in these last 80 years.
We then come to Lamech. No one knows for sure what Lamech means. Some speculate “power”. We do know that it is spelled with the same three Hebrew letters as the Hebrew word for “king” and “reign”.
Lamech is spelled lamed-mem-kaf.
King is spelled mem-lamed-kaf.
In both Genesis 4 and Genesis 5 Lamech prophesies. In Genesis 5 he prophesies and his offspring is Noah a type of Christ who builds the ark/means of salvation for His bride.
Lamech’s prophecy of Genesis 4:
Genesis 4:23-24 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. 24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
Notice Lamech says he “slain” a man to his “wounding” and “hurt”.
Recall the Genesis 3 prophecy of Christ. Christ will be bruised on the heel (wounded/hurt) but the serpent will bruised on the head (slain):
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Notice Isaiah 53:5. Christ was wounded and bruised. He was given stripes. Strong’s H2250 =”stripes” in Isaiah 53:5 but it is also “hurt” in Genesis 4:23:
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
So Lamech seems to be a picture of Christ, the lion of the tribe of Judah, bruised and wounded for us, who kills our enemy at the cross.
Lamech has 2 wives, Adah and Zillah. God has 2 wives. The Church is the Bride of Christ. But God is still in covenant with Judah:
Genesis 4:19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
Adah =”adorn”. It is from Strong’s H5710. The bride is adorned with jewels.
New Jerusalem, the Bride of Christ is adorned with jewels:
Revelation 21:18-21 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
Adah has 2 sons:
Genesis 4:20-21 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
Jabal and Jubal have the same root as “jubile”. This is a type of heaven/the Promised Land:
Leviticus 25:10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
Jabal “dwells in tents”. This is the same word as “tabernacle” He dwells in the tabernacle of God.
Jubal handles the harp and organ. What are the saints playing in the tabernacle of God, harps:
Revelation 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
Adah seems to clearly be a type of the 6000 yr old church. My guess would be that the 2 sons either represent saved jews and saved gentiles or they represent the Old Testament saints already resurrected at the time of Christ per Matthew 27:52 and the New Testament jew and gentile church.
Zillah means “dark” or “shadow”.
If we are in God’s shadow, we are in His protection.
She bore Tubalcain. Tubal means ”world” and Cain means “purchased”. So Tubalcain has “purchased the world”.
Tubalcain is associated with brass (judgement) and iron (strength).
Genesis 4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.
Jesus will rule the physical nations (world) with a rod of iron during His millennial reign:
Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Tubalcain’s sister is Naamah meaning “pleasant”. Since I am assuming we are symbolically speaking of ruling with the iron and brass, God’s law (His rules) is called pleasant/Namaah. It is in the feminine:
Proverbs 3:1,17 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
This all seems to make sense. Glory be to God.

Number 4, Dalet, Judah, Passover & Revelation 4
by Will Schumacher
I have posted on the number 4 a few times. You can view my old post on the number 4 or my post on the 4th book of Revelation. I also alluded to the number 4 in my prior post about the Euphrates.
The number 4 is the first divisible number. Physical creation is divided by the number 4. There are 4 seasons. There are 4 directions-north, south, east, and west. There are 4 elements - earth, wind, air, and fire.
In the Bible the number 4 seems to always be associated with division of the physical. Its first use is with the river flowing out of Eden dividing into 4 rivers:
Genesis 2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
The 4th letter of the Hebrew alphabet is dalet. It means “door”. A door divides what is inside and what is outside.
Jesus says twice He is the door/dalet:
John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
As the door, Jesus says He is here to divide as a sword divides. Those who are His become a different creation with a different purpose in life.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
God’s sacred name, called the “Tetragrammaton”meaning “the four letters” is spelled with 4 letters, yod-hey-vav-hey. This is the primary way how God reveals Himself to creation.
Judah is the 4th son of Jacob. Judah’s name is spelled with the same 4 letters of God’s sacred name but the 4th letter dalet is inserted in the 4th position. Judah is thus spelled yod-hey-vav-dalet-hey.
This is seen as saying Judah is the door to God, the yod-hey-vav-hey. Jesus is the door of Judah, the lion of the tribe of Judah. Jesus told the Samaritan woman that salvation is from the jews/Judah:
John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Strong’s H702 =”four”.
There is only one verse with a gematria of 702 in the bible. It is about the tribe of Judah and it’s leader in the wilderness, Nahshon, the son of Amminadab.
Numbers 1:7 Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
This Nahshon is the brother and Amminadab is the father of Elisheba the wife of the first high priest. We are the wife of the High Priest, Jesus the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Exodus 6:23 Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Nahshon has the same root as “serpent” and “brass”, as in the serpent of brass lifted upon a pole to save the people.
Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived
Jesus referred to Himself as this serpent of brass lifted up for the salvation of His bride:
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Jesus is our Passover lamb. He is the door. In the Exodus story the blood of the lamb was put on the door posts.
Exodus 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
To the jewish people the Passover seder meal is tied to the number 4. There are 4 cups of wine. There are 4 questions asked. There are 4 sons.
There are 4 gospels that tell the story of Jesus and His redemption.
Jesus’ garment was divided into 4 pieces at His sacrifice as the Passover Lamb:
John 19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
Jesus was sacrificed on the altar of the cross which has 4 points. At the same time that he was nailed to the cross, the high priest tied the Passover lamb to the temple altar. All Israelites who killed the Passover lamb as prescribed by God in the old testament would have the blood of the lamb poured out at the altar.
Jesus is the door. Strong’s G 2374=”door”. Verse 2374 is about the altar.
Exodus 29:37 Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.
The altar is foursquare with 4 horns.
Exodus 27:1-2 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits. 2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.
Judah, the altar, the Passover meal, and the atoning death of Christ as the Passover lamb are all tied to the number 4. Why? Because by his death we are physically divided when we come to faith. We walk through the door from being children of this world to being Sons of the Living God.
John, who wrote the 4th gospel, shows us this when he goes through a door in the 4th chapter of the book of Revelation and sees the church seated in the heavenlies in the 4th verse.
Revelation 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Ephesians says we are already seated in the heavenlies:
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
In Revelation 4 there are 4 groups shown:
1) the yod-hey-vav-hey on the throne.
Revelation 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
2) the 24 elders; see Revelation 4:4 above.
3) the 7 Spirits of God:
Revelation 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
4) the 4 beasts:
Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Notice what they praise God for, creation.
Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
As I posted on the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and the 22 chapters of Revelation, each chapter is a reflection of its corresponding Hebrew letter. Revelation chapter 4 is about the physical creation and its division.
God relates to His creation as the yod-hey-vav-hey. The Holy Spirit is sent to His creation. The church/24 elders is God’s creation that has been divided from the physical to the spiritual, we have been spiritually reborn. The number 24 is an allusion to the 24 divisions of the Levitical priesthood of the OT. We as priests filled with the Holy Spirit represent the yod-hey-vav-hey to His creation. We sound the trumpet in Revelation 8. The 4 beasts are somehow related to God’s power/Spirit in action. The 4 banners of Israel’s 4 camps match the 4 faces, which match the distinct message of each of the 4 gospels. We see their associated work in Revelation 6.

Euphrates, Othniel, Babylon
written by Will Schumacher
I posted on the number 4 a few years back. It is consistently associated with dividing one thing from another. The 4th Hebrew letter is dalet and its pictograph is a door. A door separates what is inside from outside. The physical created world is also depicted by the number 4.
In the Bible the number 4 seems to represent the separation of the physical world.
The first “4” in the Bible is in Genesis 2:
Genesis 2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
The 4th river is the Euphrates.
Genesis 2:14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
God later tells Abraham the Euphrates is the edge of the Promised Land.
Genesis 15:18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
So, the number 4 is about dividing the physical, and the 4th river, the Euphrates is the physical dividing line on the east of the covenant Promised Land. What is further interesting about the Euphrates is that it went through ancient Babylon. Its like God is painting a picture of His people on one side of the Euphrates and on the other is Babylon/not His people.
The New Testament mentions the Euphrates twice and only in the book of Revelation. The second time it is mentioned is a reference to how Cyrus conquered Babylon. His army dug channels to divert the Euphrates and they entered through the dried up river bed. Cyrus is a type of Christ.
Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
Strong’s G2166=Euphrates. Strong’s H3566=Cyrus. The following verse is interesting because it is verse 2166 with a gematria of 3566. Many see “him” as Christ.
Exodus 23:21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
Strong’s H6578=Euphrates. Verse 6578 is about Othniel:
Judges 3:9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
Othniel is also a type of Christ. He defeats a king of Mesopotamia. Babylon was located in Mesopotamia.
Judges 3:10 And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.
I posted on Othniel awhile back.
Joshua 15:15-17 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher. 16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. 17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
Kirjathsepher means “the city of books”. Othniel means ”the lion of God”. He is from the tribe of Judah. Achsah means “anklets” or “fetters”. She is in bondage.
So we have the Lion of God from the tribe of Judah taking a city of books and marrying someone who was in bondage. We have the New Testament picture of this in the book of Revelation. This is the only time Jesus is called a lion in the Bible. The book is the book of life:
Revelation 5:1-5 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
This story of Othniel is a picture of the completed redemption work of Jesus and thus as king sitting down at the right hand of the Father as the owner of the Church/book of life. Jesus as the lion refers to His Kingship. The lion is called the king of the jungle/beasts.
Othniel is Strong’s H6274.
Verse 6274 from the end of the Bible. Perfect match.
Mark 15:2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it.
Jesus defeated “Babylon” on the cross and will again permanently defeat Babylon at His coming.
Babylon is described in Revelation 18 as being full of the “unclean”. Strong’s G169 is used twice in this verse, once as ”unclean” and once as “foul”:
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
The first verse in the bible with a gematria of 2166 matching the Strong’s number for the Euphrates is about the clean vs unclean:
Leviticus 11:47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
Jesus uses “eating” as a metaphor for doing God’s will.
John 4:32-34 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. 33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Leviticus 11:47 is verse 3045. Strong’s H3045=”know” as used in the tempting of Adam and Eve. They also “ate” and believed the lie that they could know good from evil:
Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Strong’s G3045=”dainty” is used in Revelation referring back to the story of Adam and Eve and man not being able to discern good from evil apart from God.
Revelation 18:14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
As I said earlier Othniel is a type of Christ being the lion of the tribe of Judah defeating a king of Mesopotamia/Babylon. His Strong’s number is H6274. There is only 1 verse with a gematria of 6274 in the Old Testament and it is again about the clean vs unclean:
Deuteronomy 14:7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
It would seem that obedience to the law of eating clean vs unclean is akin to relying on God to define that which is good and that which is evil. The children of God are wise in that they rely on God to define good vs evil and Babylon is full of the unclean because they have decided for themselves what is good vs evil in their own eyes
