Hmmmm. Honestly I love everyone in this tournament, so I cant really say. If I had to pick one, I would go with Martin and Danny Wyttegun. I loved their design :)

Submit swordspeople for the upcoming sword gays showdown!

To qualify for this poll, your character must canonically fight with a sword or sword-adjacent weapon (sabers, long daggers, rapiers/epees and all that).

"Sword gays showdown" is just a name, please do submit characters who are bi/pan, ace, trans and other LGBT+ identities. This tournament is all about vibes so characters you headcanon as LGBT+ are fine too!

I reserve the right to disqualify a submission if I'm uncomfortable with the source material (for example if the author of [media your characters are from] is racist/transphobic/etc).

the water fire siblings dichotomy :) Romia has water powers and is younger than Harima who has fire powers, they have family issues(both in gen and connected to their powers) Romia's the more outspoken of the two, comes off bubbly, both of them have a temper, Harima's more of a realist, she's also pretty emphatetic in gen despite everything as far as the relationship with eachother is, there's tension between them due to paternal issues(romia recognizes the stuff their mother put harima through and understands her hatred for them due to that but won't really admit to herself she also went through the rough of it, she still seeks validation), they still get along and live in the same spacet, but things are starting to boil over

Coro, Taima, and Joule are the epitome of "tough love in sibling form". They all love each other so much, but wouldn't pass the opportunity to pick on one another occasionally. Coro is very much the protective big brother though, and would stand up for his sisters in a heartbeat. Taima is more reserved than her siblings, but is very passionate about her special interests. Joule is the most rowdy, being the youngest, and loves causing trouble, with or without her older siblings. Coro and Taima are twins, with Coro being slightly older (both are 18), and Joule is the baby of the family (even though she's 16). At the end of the day though, they all love each other and would both die and kill for each other if need be.

They are so many things. They start out pretty close. As close as you really can be when you're born 10 years apart- Maia's the older, and Vinny's the younger (he comes first when I say their names together because he's a main character and Maia's not). They didn't fight much, mostly because they're just. In different life stages.

Things start to fall apart 15 years in. Due to very traumatic reasons, they are separated, and they take this hard. They loved each other, and now the other's as good as dead from their perspective. They take it… "well". Maia idealises the fuck out of her baby brother's memory, while Vinny's just so pissed off. He's a kid. He's a kid and his family's all dead or otherwise gone. He's a kid and he's alone and he's so angry about it.

They meet again when Maia's 27 and Vinny's 17, and they've changed. Maia has moved on (mostly), she's in a new place, she's got a new family, she definitely completely 100% does not feel an overwhelming sense of guilt at leaving her brother behind!! Vinny can not even remotely be described as taking it well. From his perspective, not only has she replaced their family and community with a new one, complete with husband and kid (cringe and heteronormative and also he's way too young and beautiful to be an uncle, in his humble opinion), but she doesn't even seem to feel bad! He's had the worst 2.5 years of his fucking life, he missed his sister a lot, and when he sees her again, he finds out she didn't even try to find him again. She burned the bridge (not really- it was almost entirely external factors) and was happy afterwards. He's suffered a lot and she's happy and fulfilled living in Nowheresville with her new family, and her brother nowhere in sight.

Maia isn't as happy as he thinks she is. She'd LOVE to have Vinny back in the picture- he's her brother and she loves him a lot (he does too, but he's a teenage boy- he's not going to say that!). Unfortunately, they refuse to reestablish healthy communication, so Vinny just acts like even more of an asshole shitgoblin than he already is because he's angry and doesn't know how to express that. Maia just tries to ignore the issue and blame his friends for being bad influences who "corrupted" her brother (remember what I said about her idealising her memory of Vinny?).

They work it out eventually. They talk things out, hug each other, and get to know each other's friends/family. But not before Vinny burns down the town hall. Oops (it was NOT an accident).

Mori and Id are, in their story, the first siblings!!! They are gods of death and humanity, children of everything and nothing. Mori is the older sibling, and Id is the younger.

Id is almost completely emotionally driven-- they are motivated by love and a desire for happiness and an inability to fully cope with grief. And they… have little respect for the concept of individual sentience. The way they worked in their story is that Id created humans, and created them with a little piece of them inside them, (their namesake. impulsivity and pleasure-seeking). The best analogy I have for how Id thinks of humanity and humans is like how artists think of their work-- It’s part of them they’re part of it but they made it but it’s something new. Their self exists as a loose hivemind of the subconscious of humanity and their original self. It’s complicated but basically they are an ATTEMPTEDLY benevolent true cosmic horror putting on the face of a cute little guy to interact with their creations and the world around them.

Mori has always really had to shoulder the role of an older brother. He is much more practical than Id, and a little more melancholy. He has a dry sense of humor and the weight of an immense and difficult job, which he knows is necessary and has great meaning and importance, but which is hated by his sibling. He can be intimidating and scary, but there is something very comforting about him. He loves crafting weapons (and somewhat less enthusiastically also crafts other things. like plagues) and most of all……. he really just wants to chill and not be thought of as something terrible. He wants to be cared about :,3.

TLDR Id and Mori love each other so much, but Id is always struggling with the fact that he must take away their creations (which they consider a part of their self) and Mori is always struggling with trying to find meaning in a role that causes his loved one such upset. Nonetheless, they need each others companionship. Id needs Mori so bad as their brother but they will always have to balance that with the tenants of their being. They are foils for each other and deeply exemplify the complicated love and rivalry of sibling relationships.

Korvir is trying so so so hard to be cool like his brother but Vatiph really doesn't want that because Vatiph is a fuck up and he knows he's a fuck up and he doesn't want his precious little brother to end up like him. Vatiph isn't very outwardly emotional and doesn't really know how to express affection so Korvir feels like he's just an annoying little brother, but he doesn't know that he is the most important thing in the world to Vatiph. Vatiph would die for Korvir. He just might, if Korvir keeps jumping headfirst into Situations without thinking.
