Thor shrugged, “They may be primitive, but they have their own ingenuity. It is a treat to watch them discover things.” Now especially, under tremendous adversity, the people of Midgard showed their resilience and their brilliance.
Thor raised an eyebrow as Loki began on his grandiose speech. “It baffles me, brother, that you would be so eager to rule a people for whom you so clearly hold disdain. Not that you have ever been a particularly active king when you seized the opportunity – the territories of Asgard crumbled under your regency, if you recall.” He clasped his hands behind his back, “I perused the history of this place when I spent an extended stay here. They dispense with idle rulers with tremendous brutality here.” He did not go any further, allowing Loki’s imagination to fill in what enough angry Midgardians could do to him.
“Father certainly. Mother may be more willing to allow Sif and the Warriors Three to follow. I know that Aslaug fetched Sif’s sword for her from the vault it was locked in, she may be waiting for the best time to open one of her portals.” Thor was certain that his friends would come for him, “But I do imagine that we are all quite banished.”
Loki tutted and rolled his eyes. “Oh, please. Brilliance? I, am brilliant. They are like a monkey with a hammer. Not entirely sure what they’re doing but they’ll do their best or harm themselves in the process.” He retorted.
He held out his finger warningly as he mentioned the territories of Asgard falling. “That, was hardly my fault. I was looking after Asgard, should we be called every second someone needed their nose wiping? Honestly, they think we’re an unlimited power.” He scoffed, folding his arms.
As he mentioned their brutality, he shuffled on his feet and glanced away from Thor. “Quite… I remember their pet the ‘Hulk’, all too well…” He said clearing his throat. “Is he… Is he here?” He asked worryingly looking around now.
Loki walked up to Thor, his face full of smugness. “Father betrayed you, dear brother. As he did me. Mother will try her best, but what happens if we’re here for good? Hm? What happens if we never see Asgard again and we’re forced to rule over this, doomed world?” He questioned with a wicked smirk.

“I would, if I believed that you had not already freed yourself, brother,” Thor smirked, he knew no Midgardian bonds would contain Loki for long. Thor folded his arms and waited for Loki to reveal the trick.
Thor had missed Loki – he always did, in spite of the many reasons people would expect him not to. It had occurred to Thor more than once over the years since Thor was first banished to Midgard that no matter how many times Loki tried to kill him, Thor could never bring himself to do the same. It was one of the things that defined the difference between the Trickster and himself. Thor was glad that they had the opportunity now to mend old wounds – but he had yet to let his guard down entirely. “What brings you here, Loki?”
Loki opened his mouth to speak, closed it and then let the ropes fall to the ground. He stood and stretched his legs looking at the ropes. “How primitive. I mean, really brother. I do not understand what you see in these mortals.” He said, carefully massaging his wrists.
He paced around the room, studying it with intent as Thor asked his question. “World domination, to be treated like a king and all the other obvious reasons…” He stopped and looked at Thor briefly. “Among other things…” Loki looked back down and then stopped pacing the room opposite Thor. “I’ve left father and mother on Asgard, of course. I’m fairly certain they will have sealed off Asgard permanently now…” The Trickster sighed, knowing there may not be a chance that they could return home. “We’re on our own…”

Hearing Loki’s distaste towards Ego filled her with relief. “One particular mission did not go quite so well…the Guardians made sure I was safe on an escape pod, and it landed not too far from here. I’ve tried contacting them…and nothing.”
He gave a small nod. “I see. However, the Guardians? Are they a fellowship?” He asked, unsure if there was any way in which he could help her.

Thor was met by a flustered sentry as he was moving from one building to another. Somehow, he already knew what the matter was. He had heard something he thought might have been Bifrost in the distance earlier, but he had chalked it up to wishful thinking. He was hoping some of his friends would be arriving, but Loki was a little more of a mixed blessing – if indeed he was here to help at all.
He shut the door behind him when he entered the Gatehouse, “Surprise is right, brother,” his tone was impossible to read. While their relationship had improved, Thor was not sure what to expect from Loki in this company. These people had been traumatised enough by current circumstances, they did not need a reminder of prior trials.
Loki sighed and looked up at him, gesturing towards the ropes he was ‘bound’ to. “Couldn’t untie me, could you brother? This is rather demeaning.” Seeing Thor again was a blessing. Of course, he hadn’t expected him to be dead but it was always a possibility.

Gabby wasn’t supposed to leave Haven without telling Laura or Logan… She knew that. She knew that it was because they didn’t want her out here alone again. She knew it was because they worried… But she’d been bored, there was nothing to do, and she’d seen some crazy rainbow laser type thing in the distance.
She’d arrived to see a man with black hair throw a dagger with impressive accuracy. The young girl watched for a few moment before his attention turned to her.
Gabby smirked a little when he threatened her. As fun as that would be to explain to Laura and Logan when they got back to Haven, the zombie he’d ‘killed’ might not stay dead for long. “You did it wrong…” she answered, exposing the single ‘claw’ she possessed on her right hand and decapitated the corpse.

Loki blinked and then took a step back, his eyes darting from the girl to the corpse. “Ah… I see you’re an enhanced individual too… Interesting. Well, if you would kindly point me in the direction of my brother, I will be on my way.”

“While I agree most humans are hopelessly out of their depths, I scarcely think they have a monopoly on foolish choices.” He dryly replied in response to the arrogant response from his new acquaintance. “Unfortunately this time one human’s choices lead to what happened here.”
Smoothly the metal plate lifted up carrying the newcomer over the ground. Erik raised everything just over treetop level in order to take the most direct course back to Haven. Not terribly far from here. They would see the cleared area and the walls soon.
Loki rolled his eyes as he spoke, his eyes watching the ground that moved below them. “That, is putting it lightly. Now, we enjoy a battle as much as anyone else. However, you mortals do war all wrong. You do it to harm and damage one another, we? We do war to end conflicts, we do not elevate situations to gain an upper hand. We fight fair…” He said, before remembering letting the Frost Giants into Asgard. “All’s fair is love and war.” He smirked.
“So, are we going to have an awfully fun bonding session and by the time we return be the best of chums?” He asked with a smirk.

Chaoyi, smiled. “Me? I’m the guy who was laughing at you, clearly.” His true form was hardly a secret these days, and Asgardians have historically posed little to no threat to their kind, but this one did try to invade their whole fucking planet before, so he was probably an exception, ie. not trustworthy.
He looked down with a raised eyebrow at the where the other was trying to move in on his perch, the propped a chin on his palm. “By the way, that’d be a lot more intimidating if you actually came up here.” Pfft yeah right, Asgardian or not, the alien was still a tiny anthromorph, only comparable in Chaoyi’s human form.
Laughing? At him? Did this fool not know who he was? Loki frowned and started to sharpen his knives against each other as he advanced, a murderous glint in his eyes. Loki stared up at him now and held his dagger out threateningly. “Why don’t you come down here, coward?”

Family Reunion: Thor/Loki
So, he had been found out. Granted, it hadn’t take long but now he was awaiting interrogation within the compound. He sat there with his hands behind his back and his eyes fixed on the chair opposite him. Loki hoped that this wouldn’t have to end with him faking his death once again.
Luckily, he had managed to worm his way out of the rope and simply created the illusion that he was still bound up. When the door opened his grinned watching, Thor walk in. “Surprise brother!”

“Oh, well…it is a long story.” She averted her eyes quickly. Part of her was glad Ego was gone. The other part felt immensely guilty. He had raised her, after all! Why should she feel like this?
“He is…well, he is no longer with us. I truly do not mean to disappoint, old friend.”
“Wonderful. I did not like that man, I could see the world domination look in his eyes, I know it all too well.” He held out his hands happily greeting Mantis. “You look well, why are you on Midgard?” He asked.

“I don’t know!” He asserted, stumbling back as the blade just brushed against his skin. “I. Have. No. Idea. Just-just back up, okay? Please? We’re on the same side! I swear!”
Loki narrowed his eyes and shook his head. “The same side? No, no dear mortal. Did you not hear me? I am a God. You, are not.” He said, slightly lowering his eyes. “Well? Be useful before I kill you.”

“So cool...” He said, rolling his eyes heavily. “Lead the way then, twenty year old midgardian.”

It was a good idea to take a walk outside of the compound today, more so for whoever he was going to find in his presence. Being a bringer of fortuity, he had a somewhat sense for these things, and he could just feel that something was about to happen.
After Thor and his ward, Qiaoyi learned to recognize the magical tremors of an Asgardian’s arrival, and boy did this one make an entrance. Bright cosmic light streaking in from the heavens, leaving a scorched pattern in the earth from where the newcomer stood. It was quite a sight. The man in the middle though, was a failiar face, if only because his image had been shoved in front of the dragon’s line of sight too many times when the Asgardian lead an alien invasion to the surface. Loki.
The alien’s arrival was a bit of a conundrum at first, what with the earth’s surface being mostly uninhabitable and thus worthless to invaders now, but after witnessing the ridiculous showdown between the Asgardian and a watward zombie, Chaoyi quickly put the pieces together. That, and he was laughing.
« Oh gods, » he tittered, from he was perched on an exposed metal beam, « for a former invader, you really don’t do your homework before you travel do you? » Then his irises flashed into gold slits for a brief second as he added, « And I’d like to see you and your little knives try. »
He heard the voice and turned his head in the direction of the source. Loki gave a small smirk, wondering if perhaps this was a challenge. He now pulled out a second dagger and grinned menacingly walking towards the person with the golden eyes. “What’re you? Sorcerer? Mortal? What are you?” He asked, advancing towards the being

Someone claiming they were a god scarcely impressed him. After all,l weren’t mutants gods among humans? So no, this stranger so far failed to make himself appear to be more. Especially with his lack of knowledge of basic survival skills in this new world. Just one more lost soul in a land full of them.
The question got a short laugh out of him. “Hardly, I’m a mutant.” While not needed, Erik could appreciate a bit of flair and he made a small gesture with his hand. The containers lined up neatly while a disk separated from his side and wafted towards Loki. It stopped one step up from the ground. “Well I don’t intend to walk there.”
Erik waited for Loki to either step up, or find his own method of transportation before moving forward. “The working theory is a scientist meddling with something they should not released a virus up on the world. Transmitted via bodily fluids, most commonly saliva but blood certainly is infectious it turns most humans into what you saw. There are aberrations that can be a bit troublesome.”
‘Mutant’, the people on Midgard did have some strange words. He did not look mutated however his ability was not common among the mortals, that much was clear. Loki noticed the step and willingly allowed himself to step up and witness the mutant’s ability.
“I see, so once again it is you mortals meddling where you do not belong. How charming.” He said, rolling his eyes hard.

“Yes, this planet is very familiar with your particular brand of mercy. Interesting to see who you offer it to.” She slid a cloth across her claws as she withdrew them, too much infected blood into her system and she could end up with a fever for an hour or two.
“You needn’t describe him to me, I just told you I saw him arrive.” She pointed out, raising an eyebrow at him. She exhaled and folded her arms, “Thor is surrounded by others intimately familiar with your mercy. Avengers, New Yorkers, other people of Earth. You never even met the X-Men,” she inspected her fingernails thoughtfully. “I can take you to him if you really want me to, but it might not be the most welcoming atmosphere for you.”
The way she spoke of him made him wonder if perhaps she had heard of him. He gave a small smirk and walked closer to her. “I can have mercy, it all depends on how nice I’m feeling.” He said, as his hand rested on his back pocket.
Loki rolled his eyes. “Please, the Avengers do not scare me. I’ve come toe to toe with them previously and they merely only defeated me by pure chance…” He paused, and his eyes darted. “Do they still have a Hulk?” He asked.
At her request, he smirked. “No dear child, just point me in the way and I shall be on my way.”

“I think we love a good entrance more, and he flew in on a pegasus.” There was mirth in her voice, she couldn’t really help it. Watching a dramatic goth scarecrow try to give orders to a zombie was up there for funny things she had seen today. “The infected either no longer understand language, or they might just be more interested in having you for lunch; it’s sort of unclear.”
She heard one coming up behind her, the rank smell of it carried on the breeze. She let her pack drop to the ground for full range of motion. She spun, unsheathing the claws of one hand, and severed a neck like warm butter. The skull went flying, and rolled a few times on the ground, and landed between Laura and the god, continuing to hiss and growl. She strode forward to skewer the decapitated head to properly kill the brain. “The heads don’t always survive decapitation, but it’s a reason to always wear boots out here.” She still remembered seeing some poor, stupid kid in toms bitten on the ankle by a zombie that was just a head.
@ofmagic-and-mischief
Loki let out a small sigh and shook his head at her response. “A Pegasus? Really? Honestly, you mortals are really dim sometimes…” He said, making his way across the rubble towards her. “Well, you cannot say I tried in reasoning with it. I’m very merciful like that, you see.” He said with a smug arrogance.
He watched as she managed to kill the infected and blinked as it’s head found it’s way over to him. He pulled a sour face and stepped over the head. “Vile creature…” He muttered, making his way closer to the female. “Well isn’t this just wonderful. Now, I’m going to ignore the fact you just decapitated that poor mortal’s head with something from inside your hands for information. Where is my brother, Thor?” He asked. “Tall with blond hair, looks like a statue, about as intelligent as one too.” He stated.
