enjolras and lying can be so fascinating... i can imagine him having a strict moral code that prohibits lying bc he's crazy like that but i think that it's more accurate he sees lying as strictly pragmatic. maybe it has an inherent moral wrongness but it's sometimes necessary. that being said i enjoy it when people portray him as being simply too earnest to be able to directly lie to his friends

not a headcanon but it's so fun when fics make little references to that time grantaire slept for a day straight. also enjolras doesn't sleep much he doesn't really need it

as i've mentioned combeferre having younger sisters is so important... also it's always fun when people have enj/courf/ferre as childhood friends but in my head enj and courf were childhood friends but ferre wasn't as well-off as them (not actually impoverished, but definitely far from how wealthy i imagine the other two to be) and from an entirely different community

i do think death scares him... he's willing to die of course but he isn't set on it the way enjolras is. he really wants to live to see a better world. also cholera oh god he can't stop reading the news about that and it sure is scary!
