Artist Sign ups Extended!

Artist sign ups have been extended to 1 week with some changes!

Originally, artists were required to have a draft of their idea ready while signing up. However, this has been changed for anyone signing up during the extended period.

Artists may sign up without a draft at anytime by August 24 but they will still be asked to leave a rough outline/summary of what they have in mind while signing up.

Uploading your draft has been made optional, but you may upload it if you have it ready!

Artist signing up during this period and without an uploaded draft will be given 1 week more of time period — specifically, till August 31 to send me their drafts (in case you didn't Sign up with it.)

I'll mail everyone who signed without the draft AFTER August 24 and ask them to submit their WIPs within the given time period.

yes! The flower language bsd zine is such a good concept that a group of us started discussing it and before we knew it, we were making the server and the hyper focus took over! We are hopeful to send out an interest check about it soon! 🫶

we have a good number of mods already (very sweet people too! 💕) We are fine tuning details as we speak. We are so excited about it, and I love that you are excited for it too! 🥹💕 Rosie told me you were asking her about it and all I could think was “LETS FLIPPIN GOOOOO” 🌸

several aspects of the zine will be decided at a later date when we put out an interest check to determine free+digital or charity+digital, along with taking guest nominations, what kind of merch people would like to see, and how they'd like to interact with the zine whether as a consumer/artist/writer and so on.

but the basics we have so far are: SFW, 18+, we're still deciding on ratios/amount of contributors we'd like to take on. we took on back-up art and writing mods so there's more manpower to go around for judging applications and helping give people feedback, so we can allow more than the usual number of contributors 👀 usually zines have anywhere from 30 to 39, we might bump this up to 50 if interest also permits

we also thought it would be neat to have a split theme of people doing fluffy, lighthearted pieces, and others doing angsty pieces since there are a lot of flowers that have positive/negative meanings. (we're still finalizing on a name for it, but we thought it would be cool for spring and summer to be the lighthearted pieces, and fall and winter to be the angsty pieces 👀👀)

we're also going with a general theme in terms of, not necessarily being shippy content only, platonic will be allowed, along with character studies, canon divergent scenes, one character only, etc. we feel there's a lot to play around with for flower language!

and along with that, there are so many flowers we can easily have everyone do something different, unless people inside the zine want to collaborate

we're SO excited for this you have no idea!! 😭 we have the preliminary discord set up and we're making accounts now and working on assigning mod duties. the name of the zine is especially important to us because we had one particular name in mind that would affect our formatting/layout so we're trying to all come to agreement on what we like most, and it's hard because there are a lot of good names so far <3

Welcome to Soukoku BigBang 2025‼

Hello everyone~! My name is Crystal Heart and I’m going to be your host for this adventure!

The Skk BigBang is finally getting started!! Here’s some important information regarding this event:

Q. What is a Bang?

A bang is a type of fan challenge in which writers and artists work together to produce new collaborative content for the fandom.

In a reverse bang, the artist signs up first and creates a sketch, and the writer claims the person they want to write for based on the sketch and summary the artists provide.

This event will have an optional theme which will be chosen by you all through voting.

Q. Who can Participate?

This event accepts writers, graphics-makers, comic artists, traditional artists, and illustrators. Whether this is your first time participating in an event or you’re a fandom event veteran, it’s all fine as long as you’re 18+, interested in meeting new friends and providing new content for the fandom! This is not an NSFW free event, so no minors allowed.

(If you want to provide something that’s not listed here, just send me an ask!)

Q. What are the responsibilities?

→ Writers will create a fic of a minimum of 3,000 words.

→ Artists will create a minimum of 1 stylistically complete work.

→ Graphics-makers, moodboarders, icon-makers: check here.

Q. What is the schedule?

July 28 - August 4: Theme Voting

August 6 - 17: Artist sign-ups

August 19 - 30: Writer sign-ups and claims

September 1: Artist-Writer pairings confirmed

September 21: First check-in

September 22: Pinch-Hit sign ups open

October 12: Second check-in

November 5: All works due

November 6: Posting begins
