Just finished a stroke of the pen after finally buying a copy. I found reading it weirdly inspiring, you can see pratchett slowly improving, finding his voice and his feet as a writer. Which isn't to say the stories are bad, but they are not great satirical discworld epics. I especially lived the quest for the keys as it seems a turning point for pratchett, where he works out that he wants to be funny and weird and wacky and the seeds of discworld have started growing in his head.

I am once again thinking about digging holes
It's so fucked up that digging a bunch of holes works so well at reversing desertification
I hate that so much discourse into fighting climate change is talking about bioenginerring a special kind of seaweed that removes microplastics or whatever other venture-capital-viable startup idea when we have known for forever about shit like digging crescent shaped holes to catch rainwater and turning barren land hospitable

Ok so here are my thoughts:
It seems really fun, simalair vibes to lockwood and co. However, with lockwood and co I had read the source material, with this I've read the singular appearance of Charles and edwin in the sandman, but not their spin off. I would say from the first episode I defintly still prefer the sandman and don't feel overly motivated to check out the dead boy detectives comics (this is more so cause I have a shit tonne of assignments to do). The vibes seem cool and I loved seeing Kirby as death again (dhhdhdhsjsjaghahrbfb!!!!!!). The set up seems like an interesting plot with just enough nuance and morally grayness to create intrigue. My biggest gripe is that we haven't seen the origin story of edwin and Charles from sandman. It's a really good issue and it needs to be adapted for tv, either here or in the main show. (I need the hell is something you carry with you convo sooooooo bad). Also for some reason I thought that edwin and Charles would already be boyfriends cause it seemed inevitable at the end of the sandman issue they were in. Alas that is not the case. So ya know, if they don't get together before the end of the series that's really torpedoing my head cannon (nothing against crystal by the way, she's cool but I need Charles and edwin).
So overall I think the show seems worth checking out and when I'm less bogged down by study I'll binge the rest of it.

john oliver’s research team figured out what company made and sold the drugs used for death penalty cases under trump and named them (Absolute Standards) and they have not been cleared by the FDA for human drugs.
john talks about why they keep that information private and why they are once again stirring shit up by sharing it here, along with discussing other issues with the death penalty in the united states.

John Oliver on Andy Cohen last night: there's a nonzero chance Kate Middleton is dead
My dad: That's a misunderstanding of probability. Because there is someone who knows where she is and what's going on, it's not a quantum event
Me, nodding: There's no Schrodinger's Kate Middleton
