ty so much for sharing your experience!! I, admittedly, knew barely anyyhting about combined type, and i've learned so much from your story and thoughts. I hadn't considered some of what you said about self dx, and i appreciate you sharing :)
no bc i'm fucking exhausted by how adhd is percieved. I'm literally disabled, and yet such a large percentage of the general population refuses to acknowledge adhd as a genuine disability. If i say "I have ADHD", many people will think i'm saying that i can't focus sometimes, and i get restless and excited, that i can't help but bounce my leg.
And like, yeah, that's stuff some ADHD-ers DO experience, but it's only scratching the surface of the differences between an ADHD brain and a neurotypical brain. That's another thing- adhd isn't just a list of symptoms, NO neurodivergence is. It's a completely different brain structure and worldview, a worldview that, yes, makes me more creative and passionate but makes other areas of my life so much harder.
Going off of that, no ADHD-er is the same. You can't expect the same things from ADHD people. We don't all fit in a box, it's a spectrum. And there are two different types, innatentive and hyperactive- no one fucking talks ab innatentive! AFAB ppl are more likely to be innatentive (not hyper, more spacing out + daydreaming) and if you aren't hyper and your grades are alright no one notices untill suddenly BAM things get too hard and you haven't developed literally any skills to cope.
also, stop diagnosing yourself based on "put a finger down" tiktoks and annecdotes from your ADHD friends. A lot of the struggles faced by ADHD-ers are common among us, sure, but they are not diagnostic criteria and can be experienced by non-ADHDers. If you relate to a lot of ADHDer struggles then maybe look into some of the diagnostic criteria but dont self diagnose based on annecdote alone.
Another thing that I've been seeing lately- stop treating ADHD like diet autism. yeah, there are a handful of common experiences, and they are co-morbid (they tend to go hand in hand) but the notion that adhd is a "less" version of autism is so fucking hurtful. They are different disabilities with different symptoms and erases the idividuality of our experiences. Also, the whole "autism lite" concept implies that autism is "worse" than adhd and adhd is like. an easier disability to have, which hello, maybe dont compare disabilities like that.
Hyperfixations aren't fun and quirky. I ignore basic needs like food and water and sleep in favor of obsessing over random shit. I can't stop thinking ab the topic, and it feels like im gonna explose of i cant share the information with people. I bring up unrelated shit no one rlly cares about in convo and watch people struggle to make themselves listen or they cut me off, and that fuckin stings. oh yeah, rsd- the smallest things can feel like massive rejection and like everyone hates you and you can never get shit right.
I'm not saying oh, woe is me, the life of one with adhd is one of suffering. I love my brain sometimes, and i wouldn't trade my brain for anything. But adhd is never seen for what it is- the complexity, the diversity between us, the totality of the effect on our perspective- no one sees that, at least not a majority of people.
so please, raise awareness.

UPDATES ON THE JOSH FIGHT!
According to Fawcette, the main streamer of the event, the amount of Joshes who turned up is about 75-100 Joshes. Any streams are really laggy, but for those who couldn’t tune in here are some pics:

These were taken from a laggy stream, but as you can see the turnout is massive. The crowd is estimated to be at least 200 people.
The latest winner from the series of Josh fights is “Tiny Josh”, a four year old child who was inducted into the battle. As of right now, the bearer for the title of “The One True Josh” is the original Josh Swain.
Updates will continue if the stream stops lagging.
