Pouring the amber liquid into two glasses, he uses the time it takes as a distraction, thinking of a proper response. "Just the opposite, huh?" Walking over, he handed the man the drink, taking a sip of his own before continuing. "I don't really think it's that simple."
“Yeah, I’m trying to figure out how you tick, for one. Besides, I’m kind of known for being reckless. I’ve got the damage fine record, after all.” He tries to give a smug smirk to hide the nerves that are beginning to tighten inside of him. The way they do whenever he’s going into a situation where he has no clue of the outcome. He knows what outcome he wants, of course, but that’s in no way a guarantee.
By the time they reach his loft, Kotetsu is confident he has a firm control over his nerves. That he can do this. That the outcome he envisions is actually attainable.
Then again, he’s still sober.
“Whiskey okay for you?”

The comment only widened the goofy grin on his cheeks, tailing after him inside the sleek high rise. As soon as they reached his apartment, he set to work. By now he had the layout of Barnaby's kitchen more or less memorized, easily gathering what he needed and cooking as if he were right at home. A smile comes to his features at the thought, especially since his partner didn't even protest to any of this anymore. And if he was being completely honest, he liked to think that Barnaby let him do as he pleased because he enjoyed the company.
Walking back out into the living room a short while later, he balanced a tray with their meal, flashing a grin as soon as he caught Barnaby's attention. "Dinner is served~"
“Damn straight you are,” he grinned, puffing out his chest slightly, tipping his chin slightly higher. It was all in good humor of course, which he intended to keep up as long as possible that evening. He didn’t exactly like having to ask favors of people, hence the automatic offer to cook as a way of repaying the debt. But making the usually surly blond smile for most of the evening would be even better, in his books at least. Skipping up the steps, he looked down at him, grin still wide on his face. ”I mean c’mon, best guest you could have in town~”

“Lucky me.” His words were dry, but his face had twitched teasingly at his partner. Even if Kotetsu was acting like his usual childish self, it was certainly better to have him as company than just that of the air in his apartment. But the brunette didn’t need to know that.

It's hard to believe that this warm, affectionate man is the same person that walked into his apartment just a short while ago. Then again, maybe its not so far of a stretch. He'd denied the teasing, of course, but Barnaby had still come here on his own, completely sober. Maybe there was no harm in this after all.
Leaning forward, he decides to take the risk, lips brushing against the blond's. "Nah, 'course not," he murmurs, before deepening the kiss. For now the water can wait, the idea of indulging something he's been trying to ignore is far more tempting. Golden eyes slip shut, both hands resting against the small of the blond's back as he nips tentatively at the blond's all too inviting lips.
There’s any number of examples that fly into his head; it’s a pose he often takes at work, scowling over some complaint over unnecessary damage or something similar. Kotetsu hadn’t really given it much thought, hadn’t realized there had been jades watching him, a hunger in them locked carefully away until this moment. ”That so?” Finding his voice again, his other arm joins the first around Barnaby’s waist. The mere thought of Barnaby doing such a thing, with himself as the motivation, has heat flooding pleasantly through his chest, imagination running wild of what it might look like, sound like. Certainly everything Barnaby’s saying is true; he feels he’s admitted too much already himself due to the alcohol loosening his tongue. A part of him doesn’t want to take advantage of him like this, even if it really is what the blond wants. It would be enjoyable, it’s not that he’s doubting, but he can’t shake his want of it to mean something more. Five years of solitude had left him hungry for more than simple physical release.
“Y’know, you’re cute like this. Your face is all red,” he teased, brushing the backs of his fingers over the blond’s flushed cheek, trailing them loosely through his hair. ”You could probably use some water though. I can already hear you complaining about a headache in the morning,” he continued with a small laugh.

Seeing her? S-she's gone, Bunny. No amount of wishing her back is going to change anything. Believe me, I've tried.

Sometimes its a little too easy to tease him. "Oh ho~ Did they get cancelled then? Aww, poor Bunny-chan. 'Least you'll this old man to keep you company tonight, eh?" he snickers, elbowing him lightly in the side.
“You’ve got a point there.” Giving a shrug, he glances back at him with a grin, “Wouldn’t want to interrupt date night or something though~ Just thought I’d make sure.”
He snorted and ignored the last comment there, and starts the small walk back to his apartment complex. “I have plenty of food in my house, so we don’t need to get anything.”

“Mm. Sounds nice.” He smirked at the other male. “Besides, after all I do, I deserve a bit of thanking.”

He fights the urge to scowl at that. "Yeah, yeah," he waved it off. "So then I'm assuming you didn't have anything planned for tonight, right?"
“Sure.” He blinked in relief, thankful that he didn’t have to put in any effort at all. “That’s not a problem. I have extra blankets and pillows in my closet.”

"Ahh, thank you Bunny! I knew I could count on you!" he beams, pulling him into a brief hug before stepping back. "I can cook for you tonight, as thanks."
oldfashionedheroics replied to your post: Oiiii, Bunny!
-pouts.; I er..need to ask a favor.
“What kind of favor…?” This proposition didn’t sound too promising.

"Can I crash at your place tonight? My ac crapped out this morning. I don't really want to know what it feels like in there at this point," he admits sheepishly.

You’re being attached to someone who’s being distant towards you.
You’re paying attention to someone who ignores you.
You’re making time for someone who’s too busy for you.
You’re too caring to someone who seems careless towards you.
You keep waiting on someone who keeps stalling on you.
Wanna Know Why You're Hurting?

for your convenience!
I've made a page designated solely to keep track of roleplays and to offer links to them. It can be found here as well as on my blog for future reference. I'll try to keep it updated to the newest replies, but even in the event that it is not, the notes should reflect the newest ones anyway.

Wtf?!? Thought Lunatic killed him?!?
That's what I'd heard... It's not like Lunatic misses very often, and he was definitely his m.o. It doesn't make sense.

The better question is why isn’t he dead?!?
...Well if the rumors are true, he should be. Just makes this even worse.
