everyone's talking about how kris feels at the end of chapter 4. and don't get me wrong, i feel for them, too. but none of yall seem to be commenting on that big, emotional moment susie had where she talked about how toriel showed her kindness when she first showed up.

toriel was kind, trusting, even a mentor figure to susie. she took her to the diner. she told her it was gonna be okay. susie, too, put her life on the line to try and rescue toriel. susie, too, was missing into the wee hours of the night. susie, too, had to see toriel drunk off her ass, apparently not at all worried about either of them.

she was gonna stay the night with them. toriel knew that, and did what she did anyway. hell, toriel was actually surprised when susie went "nah i'm not staying" and walked out on them.

surprised… but not concerned. she kinda just shrugged it off. like she didn't really even care.

considering all the struggles susie has with feeling unwanted… considering the shit that she said when she fought lancer… seems like that would have hurt her, too, no?
