Far Cry 5 (2018) When you’re sent to arrest a cult leader in hope county Montana, it all goes awry. You must fight back against the cult to save not only yourself but everyone controlled by the group! As a long time fan of the Far Cry games, I’d be lying if I didn’t expect big things from the game, but it delivered! It’s range of great open world, hunting, good trophy list, thought provoking story, memorable characters and a stunning soundtrack makes this game a success! The story (without spoiling it) is a moral dilemma, various dialogue moments in the game have profound meaning and eventually begins to make you ask... who is the the bad guy. The game feels like a take on modern America but also gives off walking dead vibes which is great! Graphically I was fairly impressed too, I played on ps5 and had very little qualms with it! The game really is brilliant, there’s so much to do, it’s endless in its possibilities and is fun all the while doing it! I didn’t want it to end. The platinum is easily attainable and is fully enjoyable to get! The problems for me arise in the form of the driving, which is in my opinion terrible, which seems to be a farcry staple. The AI, the buddies are great at times but can also be extremely frustrating. The worst of all though, is fall damage, my god, jumping can cause you to lose half health down a hill and considering how hilly the game is.... I also wasn’t sold on the far cry arcade, it’s good in concept but pointless really, the trophy list probably could have done without the online trophies too! One of the best about the game is the soundtrack though, it’s a powerhouse of emotion, tenacity and honestly takes the game up another level. So much so, I’ve found myself listening to it in the real world on many an occasion! Overall, Far Cry 5 is a huge success. There’s not much to say, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a good game to sit down with for a while! #FarCry5 #FarCry5Review #Omareviews #GameReview #FarCry #FarCryReview #PSBlog #PSShare #SharePlay #Playstation #PS5 #HopeCounty #GamingPhotography #JohnSeed #FollowForReviews #Gaming #LockdownReview #Hammock #ApocalypseGame #GameReview #Reviewer #GamingLife https://www.instagram.com/p/CM4TMhnFPbm/?igshid=19f3omrmosj4f

Evil Ed (1995) When Ed is transferred to the sex and gore department of his editing job, it isn’t long before the job becomes too much and has more of an effect than he could have ever imagined. Evil Ed is a film that’s long been on my list of films to watch, I finally got round to it and whilst it’s a 5/10 it wasn’t that bad! It’s an enjoyable film, it’s very B movie and it shows, with some mediocre acting and strange voiceovers! Evil Ed has some great ideas, from what I could gather it harnesses the idea of gore, sex and violence, heavily prevalent during the 80s, especially with exploitation movies, and channels that into the idea that too much of it can turn you into it. The idea itself is good, and plays out well, and takes some crazy turns! The movies monsters in his head are insanely strange and macabre and are most certainly creepy! You’d be mistaken for thinking this film was made in the 80’s through its topic, characteristics, and its soundtrack, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s on the lower budget scale of things. If you’ve watched a lot of horror B movies, especially those from the 80’s etc, then it gets a bit samey after a while which leaves these reviews a bit short, especially with no spoilers, but I guess that’s what made the best horrors stand out! Whilst these are fun to watch, they ultimately are pieces of their times and noticeable now! Although lovingly enhanced with better image quality! Overall, I enjoyed a few different elements from this movie, it contained some interesting ideas that exploded in the end, and also has a lot of fan service to previous horror movies dotted throughout which is cool, but all in all it’s still another low budget splatter horror! Have you seen Evil Ed? Let me know what you thought in the comments! #EvilEd #EvilEdMovie #EvilEdArrow #EvilEdArrowVideo #EvilEdSpecialEdition #ArrowVideo #Omareviews #ArrowVideoReview #VideoNasties #SplatterHorror #90sHorror #HorrorReview #Horror #HorrorMovie #BluRayCollection #FollowForReviews #Reviewer #MovieReview #EvilEdMovieReview #EvilEdReview #EvilEd90s https://www.instagram.com/p/CLUsGobFjoA/?igshid=1179hhkp7qpip

Dishonored 2 (2016) As Princess Emily Caldwin rules over Dunwall, there’s a plot to overthrow her as queen. She and Corvo must get to the bottom of it and keep her where she belongs. After the high standards of number 1, dishonored 2 had to make sure it didn’t drop the ball, and we’ll it didn’t. Although it’s practically the same game with a new story, it keeps with its traditions and does well for it. The games mechanics still could have used a little tinkering for me, there were times when picking things up felt a bit stiff, the jumping could have been a bit better and the hand to hand combat felt awkward, but aside from that the rest of the actions felt easy to use. The setting is again, beautiful, traversing through the different areas with multiple avenues to do so, climbing, high chaos, low chaos, I can almost guarantee that nobodies play through will be the same! Especially being able to play as Corvo or Emily. Whilst dual character selection is good, I also personally am not a big fan, as I feel that if you don’t want a second play through as another character, you might miss out story with the other. But it’s personal preference. There’s a mission or two where I feel the game over complicated things too, which annoyed me slightly, but thankfully it was only a segment! The story is interesting and adds more depth to the characters and background of the people involved which is good. There isn’t anything particularly major or groundbreaking about it but it works and makes for a decent sequel to a good series! Overall, if you liked the first one, you’ll like this one. It sticks to its gun, does what it does best and brings you a sequel that is true to the original! #Dishonored #Dishonored2 #Omareviews #CorvoAttano #EmilyCaldwin #PSShare #PSBlog #GamingPhotography #Dishonored2Review #Gaming #GamingReview #GameReview #PS4 #XboxOne #Dunwall #GameCollection #GamingAddict #FollowForReviews #LockdownReviews #Gamer #LockdownLife #Lockdown2021 https://www.instagram.com/p/CKrF94OFIDv/?igshid=kth129vhxps3

Jigsaw (2017) When a new batch of bodies start turning up in the city, a new hunt for the deceased jigsaw is underway. There’s an old saying, ‘let sleeping dogs lie’. It applies perfectly to this reboot and they should have just left it where it was. Although Saws tenure wasn’t a particularly emphatic one, it brought a new sort of horror to the scene, the mystery and gory nature was unique at first and had something good. Yes it faded, and it wasn’t great towards the end but at least it called it a day... or so we thought. Reboots are sometimes a blessing and other times a curse, this is one that should have been left alone. It just doesn’t do anything for the series other than overcomplicate things and create more unanswered questions. I mean you know it’s bad when even Clousers soundtrack doesn’t even stand out anymore. There’s the odd bit of intelligence that works, and some of the traps are cool. But at this point, saw needed a miracle, and this reboot really wasn’t it. Overall, this isn’t one of the worst films you’ll ever watch, but it’s one of the worst saws. It’s pretty pointless, doesn’t offer much and probably should have been left alone. #JigsawMovie #SawTheMovie #Saw2017 #SawReview #Saw2017Review #Saw8Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #TobinBell #SawFranchise #ScottPatterson #CostasMandylor #BetsyRussell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKojGCZFCFf/?igshid=12ygm6w5g9855

Saw 3D (The Final Chapter (7)) 2010 Jigaw has set up another game, this time, after surviving an attack from his accomplice, he will seek revenge on those that challenged him. So here we are... at the 7th instalment of the film series that some see as torture porn and some see as clever. Me I’m in between, and the last chapter does a little to restore my faith in it, but not completely. The new set up is good, I like the mrs approach to the film, with the protagonist story proving to give person reason to be taught a lesson and the traps on those around him are logical and inventive. The ending is also enjoyable, and will take you on a little saw journey if you will, answers a couple but not all questions and even leaves you on a bit of a cliffhanger. Maybe I’m just desensitised to it all at this point but coming to the end of saw there wasn’t really a point where I seen Jigsaw as the bad guy, and never wanted him to die, which is a strange position to feel about a serial killer of sorts. Aside from that, the final chapter goes out with a mild bang, everything is pretty much as it has been throughout, the food music, the decent but not groundbreaking acting, some rinse and repeat scenarios but also some new surprises sprinkled in the mix! Overall, there really isn’t all that much to say about saw 3D, if you’ve made it this far congratulations, and you’ve stuck it out! The overall feel of the franchise is similar to that of a few long running ones, it dragged towards the end and the idea lost its weight. If you’ve watched a lot of these you can carry on and catch the end, but for a one off you’d be missing too much for it to matter! #Saw7 #Saw3D #Saw7Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2010 #SawReview #Saw2010Review #Saw7Review #Saw3DReview #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #TobinBell #SawFranchise #CaryElwes #CostasMandylor #BetsyRussell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKhFM65FF8p/?igshid=1owwtav4f2avh

Saw 6 (2009) The legacy of Jigsaw is still going and the games just keep on coming. At this point, there isn’t much of an intro I can give without either spoiling anything. Or rather to try and explain what’s going on. Saw has become a real big rabbit hole that is predictable and just quite long. Although the idea of the whole thing is clever I just can’t engage myself in it as much at this point. Characters feel stale, interesting, the victims of the games don’t really have much importance, not enough to really make you care for them anyway and the series just feels very tired. The traps are still fun to watch as they play out, and part of me wishes that they would have just skipped the whole trying to be clever about everything and just made a raging lunatic killer. At this point I think being too clever has been it’s downfall. The story just feels like it’s being handed from person to person, ultimately telling the same story and doing the same thing and it tells. Clouser is back doing what he does best and I can’t really moan at the score. Overall, Saw is getting tired, it’s getting leggy, there isn’t much left in the franchise at this point without a shake up, and I mean a real shake up, not just another handing of the torch. If they’re going to do that, they may aswell just set themselves alight! #Saw6 #Saw6Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2009 #SawReview #Saw2009Review #Saw6Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #TobinBell #SawFranchise #ScottPatterson #CostasMandylor #BetsyRussell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKYyAeTFBxc/?igshid=mpg85tx2nlpc

Saw 5 (2008) Jigsaw has since passed, yet his grisly murders continue, however his apprentice has also passed, so who is carrying out his devious schemes. Okay so by this point the game is pretty much up, there’s a long list of victims and always someone to carry out the deed to do them in! The traps are still inventive and still as gory as ever, but as I said in the previous; is it enough to save saw, I’m not quite sure. The ideas behind it all are good, but the execution has become so confusing at this point that without keeping a timeline and referring back to and fro it’s really hard to fully comprehend just what’s going on. Some are better explained than others, but it feels like the film is taking on a life of its own, rather than being a thought out plan from the start. That isn’t to say it isn’t clever, because it is, and there’s times, especially towards the end of the films with their flashbacks etc that really make it worthwhile, but it doesn’t do enough to tie together the missing pieces throughout. The simplicity of saw is perfected again by Clouser, his score has been simple, and contained its signature throughout and is still as punchy. The acting again, I mean the people in the traps need little to do but scream and have 5 minutes of fame, but the usual suspects and the lead do their job adequately. Overall, Saw 5 is really just carrying on down the rabbit hole. It’s delving into a seriously convoluted storyline that, if you haven’t been paying attention will leave you at a loss. #Saw5 #Saw5Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2008 #SawReview #Saw2008Review #Saw5Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #DonnieWahlberg #TobinBell #SawFranchise #ScottPatterson #CostasMandylor #BetsyRussell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKWsblYlFY3/?igshid=15br23vv3ywwx

Saw 4 (2007) When the seemingly impossible happens, detectives pull together to try and understand how and why the grisly murders are taking place! Another year, another saw, and this time they’ve tried to up the ante by producing a convoluted storyline that becomes kinda confusing in the end and also starts to become predictable! Saws original idea was amazing because of its simplicity, it’s straight forward approach left a lot to the imagination and allowed the film to flourish in its minimalism. 4 films in, with recurring characters, in a deep twisting storyline, the continuity and questions start to be questioned and things start to get a little confusing. At this point you start wondering about how bad this police force are, is he that clever, are there never missing persons reports for anyone not found. The questions start to mount and saw doesn’t answer them all. The gore is still there, the ideas are creative and not recycled which is good, but there comes a point where the gore and violence has to be backed up by something behind it, and it doesn’t always do that! The acting is as good as it needs to be, Tobin Bell reprises his role as Kramer, and does as well as he has done, Wahlberg is back with not a lot to do and we mainly follow Lyriq Bent as Rigg, who again does what he has to. There’s no wow factor but they all get the job done. Charlie Clouser still manages to piece the film together with his score which is surprising with how simple it is, but it works! Overall, Saw 4, whilst not being the worst film you’ll ever see, is certainly starting to show its age, and starts to feel a bit leggy. There’s life in the old dog yet... but how much, time will tell! #Saw4 #Saw4Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2007 #SawReview #Saw2007Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #DonnieWahlberg #TobinBell #SawFranchise #LyriqBent https://www.instagram.com/p/CKGyILAlr5g/?igshid=1w9j88pzipd88

Saw 3 (2006) Jigsaw is back again, this time he has a surgeon to help him whilst he puts the others around him to the test! Saw 3... here we go again! The good thing about saw 3, for me at least is that 3 films in and it doesn’t feel boring or too samey... yet. However... the cracks that start to arise 3 films in are that there’s a lot to keep up with, and you’ll find yourself asking questions about the events before or surrounding the current events. There were a few times I started to wonder about missing persons, poorly executed areas of almost over thinking and it becomes a little bit sloppy at times. What the film doesn’t lack is violence or gore and it’s back in full effect with that, and whilst the film does have its problems it also manages to tie things up cleverly again and with a good plot twist. The film Is pretty much split in two, with neither being particularly exhilarating, but the twist manages to save it more than anything. The acting from Tobin Bell requires him to do a little less, yet he still pulls it off effectively, and the unhinged Shawnee Smith plays the deranged Amanda well again! There’s also a cameo from Wahlberg again who probably puts in a better performance than his previous! Clouser is back on the soundtrack again and manages to keep the signature there without it feeling overused or boring! Overall, Saw 3 is a good movie, not amazing but by no means bad, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, and you’ll still be interested in the series and what comes next! If you’ve come this far you’ll be wanting to know what follows! #Saw3 #Saw3Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2006 #SawReview #Saw2006Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #DonnieWahlberg #TobinBell #ShawneeSmith #SawFranchise https://www.instagram.com/p/CKEc_CCl7F4/?igshid=wc8q0bngb0mz

Saw 2 (2005) When detectives Erik Matthews investigates the latest in the jigsaw killings, he’s involved more than he’d have ever imagined. When Jigsaw brings us his latest victims! Saw 2 does a good job off building from the foundations of the first one, where number 1 is simple and manages to focus on the events of 2 or 3 people, number 2 is a little more complex and involves a bigger cast. The victims this time around are still linked, but with a higher body count the way they can all be linked becomes a little bit harder, luckily it comes together well, however the reasoning for people being in the game this time is slightly looser and doesn’t quite nail them down as cleverly as the first. The best thing about number 2 is the improved inclusion of Tobin Bell, bell delivers an unnerving and unflinching performance as Jigsaw/John Kramer. His steely character ties everything together seamlessly and he fits the role perfectly. Wahlberg also puts in a decent performance as officer Matthews who loses his cool over time! Charlie Clouser returns on the soundtrack and does a fantastic job again, drilling home the dark, mysterious world with his signature theme song and creepy score. The traps are inventive again, and from minute go, they have you drawn in with their extreme violence and gore, the only thing I had with it is there are a couple of times I wondered how the way to win was or that some really just petered out. Overall, whilst number 2 is bigger and contains more than the first, it doesn’t necessarily mean better! It keeps things coming along steadily and it’s twist and turns manage to set up a 3rd film! #Saw2 #Saw2Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2005 #SawReview #Saw2005Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #DonnieWahlberg #TobinBell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKBtAEblTA5/?igshid=e5jzdg72kv7i

Saw (2004) When Adam and Lawrence wake up in a dingy old bathroom, they must work out how they got there, and how to get out! The simple premise is what makes Saw so effective. When it came out it was new, inventive and clever, and it still is even today. Saw was filmed in 18 days, which isn’t too hard to believe when you watch the movie and see it’s little locations, but the simplicity of having one room but strong writing is what makes Saw effective. It’s clever clue locations, the way it interweaves the characters together, and the gore on show, makes it a winning combination. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the best thing you’ll ever watch, but what it does is introduces the serial killer to you, and provides and strong foundation for the film to build on. It leaves a clever cliffhanger and will definitely leave you wanting more. The acting again, isn’t groundbreaking, but is solid enough to convey the storyline effectively. Present is Billy and the films signature theme song from Charlie Clouser, who does a great job on the films score! There’s a couple of areas that felt a bit drawn out for the sake of it and some questionable decisions make you raise your eyebrows on times, but the intricacy of the films traps and storyline was never going to be without faults! Overall, Saw is a solid first instalment in the franchise that introduces you into the world of Jigsaw. The foundation is great to build off and you’ll definitely be reaching for number 2! #Saw #SawMovie #SawTheMovie #Saw2004 #SawReview #Saw2004Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #JamesWan https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ_KJKAl3_U/?igshid=15cruhtxbnhpq

Eddie the Eagle (2016) Eddie Edwards, is an underdog ski jumper who almost literally has to jump through hoops to make his Olympic dream a reality! Funny story, I never even heard of this film, nor had I any intention of watching it, but I’m so glad I did! Here’s why: From start to finish, this film had me gripped, from its charming introduction to Eddie and his Olympic dreams, to harsh realities and seeing him never giving up, it’s rare that you see such underdog stories convey themselves in a way that isn’t stereotypical, cheesy or corny. This manages to avoid all the cliches and comes across brilliantly. Anyone who knows me knows I love a soundtrack, and anyone who knows me knows I love the 80’s... what did I get in this film, an eclectic soundtrack born from the 80’s and it was magnificent. I loved it and it accompanied the film to perfection! The authentic feel you get when watching this film just makes it feel genuine, makes it feel alive and is what gives it real heart. There’s messages for everyone in it and everyone can take something away! If I’m being cynical, I’d have probably have liked to see a little more about what he did after, even if it was a short segment, but I can’t really complain if I’m honest. The on screen relationship and acting from Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman is top notch and Egerton delivers a fantastic portrayal of Eddie! Overall, I was genuinely taken aback by how good this film was, and unexpectedly at that too! I know this won’t be for everyone but if you want a film with genuine heart, a feel good factor and a great soundtrack this is it! #EddieTheEagle #EddieTheEagleReview #EddieTheEagleMovie #TaronEgerton #HughJackman #MovieReview #EddieTheEagle2016 #SkiJumping #BritishRecord #SkiRecord #British #SkiMovie #Omareviews #SportsMovie #Cinephile #BluRayCollection #SportsFilms #Underdog #UnderdogStory #ChristoperWalken #EddieEdwards #BronsonPeary #WarrenSharp https://www.instagram.com/p/CJisCnQFpVU/?igshid=15sq5d2gmddyr

Dishonored: Definitive Edition (2015) When the empress is murdered and her daughter, Emily, kidnapped, Corvo, her loyal bodyguard is framed. Find a way to clear your name and bring justice to Emily! This steampunk world that you’re thrown into with Dishonored is great, from the go you’re traversing levels from top to bottom and going from roofs to sewers in order to achieve your objective. The game has a unique way of approaching things, because of the amount of ways to complete missions it can be a little bit confusing, depending if you’re going for the platinum or not. If not you can play how you want, which can be stealth, not killing enemies or just going wild. Both are equally as fun due to the powers you can attain, and abilities to carry out the stealth are probably a little more enjoyable than the high chaos, purely because the combat system needs a bit of work and feels very clunky. As does the climbing system at times, it works well mostly, but can be incredibly finicky, especially when trying to climb items such as chains etc. Jumping feels very robotic and can lead to you dying, which is incredibly frustrating! The story is great, a classic tale of heroism, betrayal, backstabbing and avengement. The DLC you get as Daud was also a fantastic add on and added a deeper understanding to the game which was a pleasant surprise. There’s some great collectibles to get, from cracking safes, to tunes, to turning everyday items to money, you’ll rarely be left with nothing to do or look at in the world, which keeps you looking at the areas, scanning for enemies or using the heart to search for collectibles that influence your game! Held together with a beautiful score Dishonored proves to still hold up today! Overall, I’d fully recommend playing this, it’s not for everyone, granted but give it the time and attention it requires and it’ll reward you with an engaging story and fulfilling interactions! #Dishonored #DishonoredReview #DishonoredDefinitiveEdition #DishonoredDefinitiveEditionReview #Omareviews #GameReview #PS4 #Shareplay #PS4Share #PSBlog #Steampunk #Daud #Corvo #CorvoAttano #GamingPhotography #Playstation #Sony #FollowForReviews https://www.instagram.com/p/CJa7XzmlZnT/?igshid=12c47z7ngm7m0

Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth (1992) When a journalist down on her luck is searching for the next big scoop, her luck is in, when she sees someone rushed into the ER with chains hanging out of him. Back when the first Hellraiser was released, it felt fresh, it gave a real feeling of mysticism that blurred the lines between the supernatural and the unknown. In number 2 it went too far the other way, in 3 it goes down the middle. Number 3 see’s pinhead trying to take over the human world now and it’s up to Joey, the journalist to save the world. It doesn’t really ever get going though, it’s love triangle, and sob stories with a couple of the characters aren’t that interesting, the story feels like at this point it’s clutching at straws. There’s still plenty of gore present, and the death scenes are still here, which makes it a little more bearable, but similar to number 2 it’s not enough to save it. I tell you one thing, the music budget must have been tiny, as the score is pretty much the same as the other 2 again! Either the sound team made off with a fat stack or were given some time off! There’s not much to be said for the acting Doug Bradley reprises his role as pinhead again and does well, but apart from that it’s your typical movie. The trilogy from Arrow Video is presented in a hardback case, and comes with 3 cases housing each disc. With some beautiful artwork and great quality blu rays it’s perfect for anyone who’s a fan’s collection! Looking back on the hellraiser trilogy, for me it’s a darn shame. Number 1 was incredibly engaging, a fun watch and left you wanting more. 2 didn’t deliver as well as it should, and was rushed, and by 3 it’s pretty much dead in the water. Overall, number 3 has some good ideas, and some great deaths but all in all, it’s the final Pin in the coffin for the Hellraiser franchise that deserved so much more! #Hellraiser3 #Hellraiser3HellOnEarth #Hellraiser #HorrorMovie #Omareviews #Hellraiser3Review #Pinhead #Cenobites #HorrorReview #Cinephile #Horror #MovieVillains #LockdownReviews #LockdownSuggestions #LockdownMovies #MovieReview #FilmReview #FollowForReviews #Reviewer #ArrowVideo #ArrowVideoReview https://www.instagram.com/p/CIQg4hYFiTn/?igshid=s1oac093hkaq

Hellraiser 2: Hellbound (1988) When Kirsty awakens in a mental hospital, her nightmare isn’t over, as she descends into the depths of hell, she’ll face more of her demons. Apparently Hellraiser 2 was rushed into production very soon after number 1’s success, but this time wasn’t spearheaded by Clive Barker himself, though he remains in the production credits. It isn’t hard to believe, 1, because the film was released the year after the first, and 2, because the loose storyline and weak plot really stand out. Hellraiser 2 isn’t a necessarily bad film, but it doesn’t really build off of the strong foundations of the first. Number 1’s strong but simple storyline is easy to follow, which allows the gory and gruesome nature to stand out even more. However in this, it’s almost complicated for the sake of being complicated, areas feel utterly confusing and lose you, and it feels like the film relies on the shock factor and grisly scenes to keep you engaged. They’re crazy and are well worth the time to watch, but beyond face value don’t do a lot for the movie. The score is good again, and is about on par with the first one, which the same can be said about the acting, there’s no complaints there, although again, I feel let down by how they portray pinhead. He could have had a 10x better story in my opinion. As I said at the start the film came out a year after the first, and that is evident, I think if there’s one way to describe Hellraiser 2, it’s probably just that, rushed. Which is a shame, because with a solid storyline behind it, number 2 definitely could have been as successful as the first! Overall, Hellraiser 2 fails to build on the strong foundation laid down by its predecessor, opting for eye catching visuals instead of a meaningful story. It’s a rushed story that will leave you wanting if you want a good story, but satisfied if you have a thirst for blood! #Hellraiser2 #Hellraiser2Hellbound #Hellraiser2Review #Hellraiser #Hellraiser2HellboundReview #CliveBarker #Pinhead #Cenobites #Omareviews #FilmReview #Horror #HorrorMovies #80sHorror #CultHorror #ArrowVideo #ArrowVideoReview #Cinephile #LockdownReviews #LockdownSuggestions #HorrorReview #HorrorFilm https://www.instagram.com/p/CIN5YdUFzJB/?igshid=1e6zk32lno37r

Hellrasier (1987) When Julia discovers her husbands brother half deceased body in the attic of their newly moved into home. She must do the unthinkable to help him escape his demons! Hellraiser is a really good horror movie, similar to ‘The Omen’ in the sense that it stood out amongst a lot of B movies that were being churned out at the time, Hellraiser brings the heat! From the get go, Hellraiser chucks you in at the deep end, engages you and keeps you there. It’s different to what you’d expect, but also positive in the way it keeps things realistic with elements of the supernatural, where some films do too much of one or the other. Directed by Clive Barker, on a story by Cliver Barker, he’s having a great time! There’s so many elements to Hellraiser that make it enjoyable and creepy, there’s bugs, blood, guts, gore and more! If I’m being critical I would have liked to have seen more of the Cenobites, as they’re brilliant characters but we don’t get much of them. Give me more Doug Bradley as Pinhead! There’s also the matter of why Larry never visited the top floor which baffled me but apart from minor plot holes the rest is pretty solid! The film is held together by a great score that ties scenes together perfectly. The music is from Chris Young who honestly I’m not familiar with but looking at his discography is well renowned in the horror industry of scores! The acting is good in general but Clare Higgins who plays Julia, plays her role brilliantly, showcasing a torn wife who has to make big decisions very well and Ashley Laurence has a great breakthrough role as Kirsty! Overall, Hellraiser is a staple of 80s horror and it’s not hard to see why it still holds up even today. It’s a thrill ride of a movie that will keep you guessing all the way until the end... and even then will leaving you wanting more! A must watch! #Hellraiser #Hellraiser1987 #HellraiserMovie #HellraiserMovieReview #HellraiserReview #Hellraiser1987Review #PinHead #Cenobites #HellraiserCenobites #Horror #HorrorMovie #80sHorror #ArrowVideo #ArrowVideoReview #HellraiserPinhead #Omareviews #Cinephile #LockdownReviews #LockdownMovies #FilmReview #FollowForReviews #CliveBarker https://www.instagram.com/p/CIF7rvKlW-K/?igshid=kfwbpdzufml2
