Does anyone know how to make your artwork have secrets in it?

By that i mean how some artwork have special lore or Easter eggs if you play with contrast & saturation.

For example, when x_cast_x made the two mesmerizer artworks, but if you played with the contrast and saturation it showed a creepier version.

I wanna try doing it myself but i dont know how, so id appreciate any help.
