Grey's Anatomy - Beautiful Doom 9x05

Another Grey's episode and this one was entirely about Meredith and Christina. Whether that's a good thing or not, I'm not sure of... Also I'm re-watching the series and I have to say that everything was a great deal better in the first seasons (second!).  

Summary Meredith deals with a critical patient who affects her personally and she keeps in constant touch with Christina in a snowy Minnesota. All this also while trying to take care (or let others) of Zola at work. The drama Parker-Dr. Thomas (finally learned hos name.. Right on time)continues and ends in the last-mentioned dropping dead in surgery.  

Awesomeness

Dr Thomas! I liked him from the beginning and I think it was a bad call for him to die. He had some of the best lines, not only in this episode but in the entire season so far. I wanted to transfer his relationship with Christina to Seattle, it would have been great fun to see him interact with say, Derek or Arizona. Anyway, now he's dead and I have to admit, I did NOT see that coming... 

Meredith and her 30 seconds dance party. Of all the characters, she's the one I'd picked last for something like that! Surprising and funny, especially how she threatened the interns. Nice to see some other sides of the main character. 

Christina is back! Simple as that. 

The scene at the end, with Hunt and Zola. Sweetest thing ever. He'd make such a great dad and it's sad because I really want him and Christina to end up together but that also implies no children... 

Downsides

The split screen and the echo sound (? At first I thought it was the streaming site's fault). I like when shows split the screen with phone conversations or such things but this was simply too much. As a non-native speaker, I didn't catch every word which was frustrating. 

The aggressive and edgy side of Meredith. She was extremely annoying but at the same time very cool. Like the way she yelled at the witnesses by the accident. However in the end it got tiring and only irritating. 

I'm still not used to the new interns. They seem so boring, the guy in particular.

Glee - The Role You Were Born To Play 4x05

It's finally back! After weeks of waiting and wondering, Glee has returned and hopefully will be recurrent right up to Christmas. This episode focus was the school musical Grease and the auditions to it, exactly like last season. But is it just me or has the show lost it's heart and warmth? Everything seems so shallow this season... 

Summary Time for auditions for the musical Grease. Marley is heading for Sandy but so are Kitty, Unique/Wade wants Rizzo which creates some obstacles since he's a guy. Sue forbids it but Finn, who is the new co-director (and also the one who's gonna take over Glee club when Shue leaves), decides to fight her and choose Unique for the part. He also finds a new kid, Ryder, and convinces him to audition for Danny. Mercedes and Mike are back to help with Grease which is hard for Tina and Blaine continues to be miserable over his break-up with Kurt. 

Awesomeness

Beiste is back! And as a psychologist to Will and Emma, genius. I've missed her, I hope she'll have a bigger part when Shue leaves, especially as a support to Emma.

Artie. He was great in this episode, a real leader! He took the initiative and I really see him as the rock in ND. How's things going for him and Suger btw? Too much focus on the new kids...

The character Ryder is finally presented. Blake was my favorite in The Glee Project and I'm thrilled to see how he portraits this new guy Ryder. He seems dorky but in another way than Finn. I'd love to see their relationship develop and I might like it just as much as...

... Will and Finn! Why can't Will be Finn's dad? That would be so amazing. Their relationship is so great and in particular now that Finn is an "adult" and they can talk man-to-man. Don't know what more there is to say, I just love it.

Downsides

No Rachel. I didn't think of it 'til it was over, but there was no NY in this episode, no switch-overs. Perhaps that was a good thing as well, but no Glee without Rachel.

I'm not sure that Will leaving means that he's gone a few months from the show too, it'd be sad but than again I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with ANOTHER switch to Washington. Seems a bit far off. But Shue is Glee and he'll be missed... 

Still not a fan of Unique and I really think that Kitty should have gotten the Rizzo part! That girl is like a Santana and Quinn in combination, she just spits out punchlines everytime she opens that mouth ("What's that cologne you're wearing? Jealousy by You?"). 

Songs

Hopelessly Devoted To You - Boring song to start with, too flat. But Blaine does a good job, his voice is like heaven. Sidenote, that scrapbook...? No comment needed. 

Blow - To begin with, very cool arrangement. They both looked really cool and Marley had a new and edgy attitude, I liked it! However, Unique's falsetto voice was the only thing that I could hear. It took over the whole song and after a few seconds, it's extremely annoying. Great song when Pink sings it, but this was horrible. 

Jukebox Hero - Ryder!!! And Finn!!! Great combination and the concert feeling felt cool and creative. Blake's voice is very good but I hope he looses that Beiber look, it's too similar too Sam's. 

Everybody Talks - Kitty's voice is very alike Quinn's! I was impressed by all the dancing and it made me start shipping Jake/Kitty. What's their name? Jitty? Kike? Hm.. Anyway, GREAT song originally, not as great when they did it but definitely approved.  

Hand Jive - My absolute favorite scene in Grease, the song is awesome and the choreography is terrific. There was a lot going on but without doubt the best number in this episode. I loved seeing everyone on that stage and they looked so happy. Also, Mercedes is back!

HIMYM - The Autumn of Break-Ups 8x05

The other break-up of the season, two down one to go. It was just a matter of time for Victoria and Ted to call it a day and the cause was... wait for it.... Robin. Again. Surprise. Anyway, finally an episode who brought the story forward. One step closer to the mother.

Summary Barney finds a new wingman, a dog named Brover. Ted understands that Victoria wants to move forward in their relationship but something is holding them back, which apparently is Robin. Lily teaches Marshall some of her gifts. 

Awesomeness

Marshall! I could talk about him in this episode all day long. He is officially the most fun character in this show right now, yes he has replaced Barney. The snapping, the girly voices and the southern accent! He has no limit!!! Yes, Marshall was the star this week. 

Even though we know they are breaking up soon, it was nice to have some more information about Nick (- the bad boy chef!). The search for a catchphrase was real fun and got me to think about the time then Robin wanted one when she was the host of the news, a few seasons ago. 

Horrible

The whole "Robin or me" thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that Victoria and Ted are through but it was a real lame way of doing it. Come on, that was like moving backwards several years! Robin shouldn't be an issue anymore and the writers should have found some other reason for them breaking up. But I'm excited to see how Robin will found out what Ted did.

Brover. Honestly not that funny but I get that Barney needs some sort of plot when everyone else are off doing stuff with their partners. Perhaps it's because I'm not a dog-fan haha.

New Girl - Halloween 2x06

Another Halloween episode with great costumes (Reining-cats-and-dogs how creative was that?) and slightly frightening scenes in New Girl's latest. It left us with some new and widly open plotlines but very much laughter.

Summary Jess works at the haunted house dressed like a zombie and when figuring out that Sam is a pediatrician and acutally cares for people, she starts to fall for him for real. She asks him out but unfortunately he rejects. A college friend and an old crush visits Nick and they fool around some but he eventually realizes that the reality didn't live up to the idea of her. Schmidt's jealousy somehow leads to friendship between him, Robbie and Cece. Winston and Shelby break up. 

Awesomeness

Jealous Schmidt! And the way Robbie deals with it, like a man. The headbumping, hilarious! I hope to see more of this friendship thing, even though the look on Cece's face in the end told us that she might still love Schmidt. 

Sam, with mixed feelings. I love his personality, not so cliche and stereotyped. But he turned Jess down, which makes him a douche (not really but a little). Anyway, I hope, and guess, that we'll be seeing more of him in future episodes. 

Nick being Nick, that is to say kind and, when it comes to it, put other's needs in front of his own. A true friend. Going in to that haunted house, despite his fear, just to save Jess from a heartbreak just made me love him more! And that girly screaming... Haha. 

Horrible

Nothing in particular, overall just didn't find this episode as fun as the rest of the season...
