this is a post i never thought i would have to make so soon. as most of you mightve seen on my friend @spooksier 's page, oil is no longer with us. after an unexpected and abrupt health decline, she was put to sleep at 1pm on 4/21. she was an absolute once-in-a-million cat, and my heart breaks every single day for how much i miss her.

second photo is what we did with her favorite spot to lay in the sun. my mom sent me a bouquet of plants on monday so we set them up in oil's basket so that something is still always soaking up her sun.

may she rest so peacefully. i miss you so bad sweetie :(

as for those of you who have sent in messages about oil - your thoughts are all very appreciated and oil would have loved the attention. lastly, grease is doing well (lonely but shes a soldier and a shelter kitty) and getting as many pats as she can receive comfortably

another lore dump for my dnd campaign :)

sister wizard-demigoddesses teitoca (on the left) and mao (on the right.) teitoca was the goddess of chalk, and mao was the goddess of salt. they grew up during a time of strife, with their secluded home-village of lo'kureen threatened by the machinations of another, much older goddess: ruee, the goddess of blood. ruee had spent about 20 years prior to the girls' birth leading a crusade on the eastern coast of tunturioma, turning the land inhospitable to all but the hemoids over which she ruled. with starvation rapidly becoming a problem in lo'kureen, teitoca and mao were chosen to lead the townsfolk on a pilgrimage to find a new home.

teitoca, the goddess of chalk, collaborative magic, and ceremony. four years older than mao, teitoca was decisive, charismatic, but decidedly cowardly. she was the first to propose evacuating lo'kureen, suggesting that they seek a safe, hidden area in which to settle. about six months into their journey, by which point already had many lo'kureenians perished to the perils of the road, the walking town discovered a small, angular, concrete shack in the middle of the jungle they were passing through. this shack stood inconspicuously above ground, betraying neither its origin nor the sprawling bunker-complex buried underneath it. teitoca knew instantly upon descending into the bunkers that it was exactly what she had been looking for. she moved in that day, cultivating the underground community with her magic for years to come, christening the newly founded settlement "dur'elesh."

mao, the goddess of salt, abjurative magic, and resilience. more cunning and ambitious than her older sister, she devoted herself at a young age to the practice of battle magic, quickly rising the ranks in their town to become an official guardian of lo'kureen by the time she turned 17. around this time, with ruee's dark magic beginning to overtake the surrounding lands, mao took up the helm and started teaching defensive magic to the townspeople to ensure they could defend themselves. once lo'kureen was evacuated, this preparation proved invaluable, drastically reducing much of the risk of travel. upon discovering dur'elesh, a massive rift suddenly formed between mao and teitoca. despite being an optimal location to remain undetected and stay safe, living in dur'elesh would mean being near-entirely severed from the outside world. despite teitoca's pleas to stay, mao left dur'elesh, continuing west. during the continued travel, mao grew ever-stronger and ever more adventurous, establishing a distinct sect of warlocks who drew immense abjurative power from her. she and her group roamed for almost 5 more years, before finally discovering a frigid swath of snowy land at the northern tip of the continent, on the opposite side of a treacherous mountain range. it was here she founded the town of "mejya'nul." with mao's warlocks to keep them warm, the people of mejya'nul slowly developed the city into a thriving bastion against the cold.

big bug-type dump from the last few days :)

the crawldron line, little hermit crab bugs that live in ceramics! love hanging around humans but are mad skittish. great defense + hp but otherwise low stats

the bludbrite line, starting as a sweet little fairy caterpillar, a tiny chrysalis, and finally evolving into a dark-type mosquito with a bioluminescent blood sack like a firefly

i turned 21 last week and acquired a birthday ipad so ive been returning to my roots (fake pokemon designs)

first is mudfish line that grows prosthetic plant legs as it evos :)

second is a little man-made clay dove doll that people make for their wedding - during the ceremony the dolls come to life and go to live in the wild. if the married couple has a child, one of the deuxves they released will evolve into a vasilisk and return home to protect and care for the child!

another piece for my dnd campaign :) i was working on another piece that went along with this one but it went missing 😔

STILL though this is the back of the infamous half-elf motil caríon! intelligent, debonair, and deeply vain, he was notorious for his necromantic antics and magical mad science.

he was a major nuisance for many of the people on the island (tunturioma, the island my dnd world is based around) while tunturioma was unified under the sea goddess and her holy city.

he described himself as a "spell inventor," constantly working on some new half-baked magical formula. he stumbled into a few successful cantrips and low-level rituals, but more often than not would have his experiments blow up in his face -- often literally.

an example of this is a ritual he invented when he was 15. the beautiful wings of the tropical birds in his home inspired within him a great longing to have wings of his own, so he shoddily stitched a few transmutation and enchantment rituals together, and cast the resulting spell on himself every night before bed.

he theorized that within a few months, his wings would begin coming in, growing feather by feather out of his shoulder blades. and so he kept on, casting his spell every night for two years. he did it in secret, until finally his mother saw the huge webbed scar on his back and grounded him, confiscating the spellcasting components he was experimenting with.

grease has made so much progress since we took her home :) theyre both still a little hissy at each other but they have started giving each other tiny kisses!

last august I posted the lineart of this (plus an art nouveau style background frame) to subscribers on patreon but i've never been able to finish it, so after using it as marker brush practice today i hereby release it from my custody into the wild...

to all oil devotees: we have officially adopted a second cat!!! we have named her grease and she loves sleeping in our closet. oil and grease haven't really met yet but they're both ourbeautiful daughters
