matt murdock is a great character because it’s like what if you wanted to be loved but every person you loved either left you or died in circumstances that, to you, are at least partially your fault and those who are left can’t know everything about you because that also puts them in danger so you’re constantly lying to people you care about to keep them safe but more importantly so they don’t see all the ugly parts of you and run but uh oh! nothing good ever comes of it
