It has probably been said before, but if I were traveling with the Doctor, who is notorious for getting into trouble, and he told me to stay where I am, I would (hopefully, probably) stay. 🤷♀️ (And as much as i don't like Rose, I don't necessarily mean her, but like the Companions in general)
I know the Weeping Angels are regarded as the "creepiest and scariest" villains. While, yes, they are pretty scary, I personally think the Cybermen are much worse. With advances in technology, maybe that’s what will happen in our future too. Like through the thought experiment "Roko's Basilisk" — it's just creepy to think about.
Micky staying there. Good for him.
Yeah, it was a pretty solid episode. Not much more to say tbh.
Doctor Who Rewatch & Review 2-5 The Girl in the Fireplace
I'm gonna say it beforehand: one of my favourite episodes.
The Doctor geeking out about things is one of my favourites. He's just like me.
Hello there, Arthur the Horse.
Okay, so, they probably didn't mean anything by it, but when they mentioned the Doctor talking to Cleopatra and him calling her 'Cleo,' in my head that was River, like later, before the Pandorica opens.
"Drunk" Doctor kind reminds me of Crowley, I don't know why.
Everyone always talks about how Nine would never leave Rose for 5 hours, and here I am just being sad that Reinette never got to see the stars like the Doctor promised. So sad 🥲🥺
But yeah, like I said, one of my favourite episodes.
Sarah Jane Smith! I love you 😘 My favorite classic companion. So good to see her.
K9 is also here; that's an episode made for me.
"Mickey, don't compare yourself to K9. As much as I love you, K9 is better.
I'm going to take a little sidenote again, but, this time I'm watching the episode in German because my dad is watching with me and I think it's pretty funny that Rose and the Doctor have known each other for like a season and a bit now yet they still use the formal 'you' ('Sie' in German) as if they just met and aren't friends/love interests."
Okay, I'm going to say something, but as you should know by now, I don't like Rose. I know Rose and Sarah Jane are both jealous of each other, yet I find Rose so annoying. The way I see it, Sarah Jane is jealous because the Doctor lived on without her and has a new, young companion while she also wanted to stay with him, but he left her. Rose, on the other hand, seems jealous because the Doctor has other (female) friends that he knew before her. Like ... he is what? 700 at this point. What did she expect?
It's so good, when the Villain knows what the Doctor is and uses his Species against hin. So good.
K9 = bestes Boy
(That's me btw. 😋)
Oh Rose, don't be so annoyed at your Boyfriend being there with you. 🙄
All in all, a pretty good episode. Loved it, if you couldn't tell.
I also love it when the Doctor is rude without noticing it. It's a pretty cool side to the character, showing that no matter how long he 'lives' on Earth, he still is an alien. Or maybe that's just me, and I interpret too much into it. 🤔
It's so good when they mix supernatural stuff with sci-fi elements. Like the 'werewolf' that is from the stars, and the fish-vampires later with the 11th Doctor. Just a pretty amazing concept.
