The fact that Emily Windsnap’s grandparents are never mentioned again post Book 4, even after moving back to Brightport with her, makes me suspect they never truly reconciled ☹️ (they have so many chances to be in her life yet for some reason they aren’t )
right? At least Emily doesn't seem to suffer for it. Though they didn't seem like great parents either.

This is so lovely, and exactly what I had in my head. I love how long Ricky's hair is!
You're so talented! I love you're work!
“I never stopped loving you" {WIP}
Just the lineart, but I'm so excited I wanna post it anyway! Will color sometime later.
Oh! I just can't help myself. Starved for Mystery Incorporated content, I wanted to do fanart based on this top tier fanfic. Purposefully Silent by @orithereticent, you're the goat! In chapter 8. My favorite scene so far.

You think Ricky gives goods hugs? He's a larger fellow and the detail of him not only hugging Cassidy but lifting her off the ground to hold against him is just peak. <3 <3 <3

I also play a level 2 twilight cleric/ level 3 chronurgy wizard, winged tiefling.
She’s real fun because she has 18 ac, plus shield so 23. Advantage and a plus 6 to initiative. And twilight sanctuary plus chronurgy shift. And she can fly.
I don’t take damage often.

I love playing a changeling in dnd because during combat she used her action and bonus action to change her appearance and her clothes (has glamoured armor) into the boss of the tavern we were in and told the guards in the other room to give her the keys and leave.
And it worked.

I love this!!! I love that Ricky's tired in every universe no matter what lol.
I need to work more on this au, but for some fun, some out of context writing I did on it. -------
Ricky flipped a dial and began playing. The notes matching the vocals with as much regularity as he could manage.
The singing, for the first time since Ricky had first heard it, faltered. Then stopped all together. Ricky cursed.
“Sorry,” he muttered, quickly silencing his keytar.
“Hello?” the voice which must have been the one who was singing, asked.
“Can you hear me?” asked Ricky, surprised.
“Yes? How?” The voice asked. Ricky thought it might be a girls voice, it was higer pitched than his own was, anyway.
“I… used a radio?”
“... Why?” the girl asked hesitantly.
“I… I like your singing, I wanted to tell you that I liked your singing.”
“Oh? Oh!” the girl seemed pleasantly surprised, “thank you!”
“You’re welcome!” Rick answered, also surprised he hadn’t managed to mess up this interaction yet.
“I’m… Angel,” the girl volunteered, “Angel Dynamite.”
“Mr. E!” cried Ricky, desperately wanting to sound cool or interesting
So a year ago, @orithereticent and I had talked about their mermaid AU. And within that AU, Ricky is the one posing as the DJ/owner of K Ghoul. That idea came back into my head and I finally had an idea I liked, so here’s a Ricky based on that concept

I like playing dnd because it forces you to examine what specifically is wrong with you.
Like “hey why do all my characters have abandonment issues?” Then you think about it and you’re like “ah, I see.”

For everybody saying "the moon has a name??" eh, kinda. The moon, in english, as a body, is called the moon. Specific parts of the moon have names, and the specific part chosen to be landed on happened to be the sea of tranquility, which is a mare, and also translated from latin, the name in latin being Mare Tranquillitatis. Mare are the parts of the moon that appear darker in colour to the naked eye. This is because they are newer, mostly basalt, and generally much flatter than the lighter parts of the moon which are called the highlands, the highlands are older and more rocky and cratered than the mare.

Earlier you told me you like Mary Penelope for than Jake Windsnap. After finishing the entire EW series I absolutely agree with you! They’re both great characters but Mary Penelope has more nuance, more emotional range, more acknowledged flaws to balance out her strengths, more specific hobbies and interests, and a much bigger character arc. She felt more like a real person (maybe it’s why I’m obsessed with drawing her 😆) .
Yeah! I think that while I like both characters, Mary fasinates me because she's much more 'human' so to speak. Emily grew up being taken care of almost entirely by Mary, and Mary spent 12 years raising a child while her memory was deleted every week.
I love Jake as a character, but it interests me because he doesn't really know how to take care of Emily, and he's almost stuck where he was 12 years ago.

Ayda's meteor shower love letter...
Fig was a young teenager, and her horns grew in. And very suddenly, her entire identity had been uprooted and destroyed. No longer Fig Faeth, the daughter of Gilear and Sandra Lynn, the wood elf, but a tiefling. And suddenly, her dad didn't love her anymore, and her friends abandoned her, and her mom lied and lied.
Do you think that she felt like some sort of monster?
Do you think she felt unloveable?
All the while, and all that time, fragments of unconditional love remained buried, devoted to by a knight, flying across the stars.
She was so loved even before stars that would eventually make up her body had burned out.
Nobody touch me. I'm going to cry.

I genuinly find it very funny that Gale just so happens to get yoinked from Waterdeep just before the events of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, I like to think that as soon as he gets back to Waterdeep, this is now a problem for him to solve.
Like, imagine you're Gale, you get home from saving Baldur's Gate if not all of Faerun. Perhaps you've found a lover (in my mind, Astarion because that is the funniest option), or perhaps not, regardless, you've made a group of lifelong friends.
You get home, (taking Yenna and Grub with you, and picking up Arabella because they are like 8 and they are not living on their own.)
and
fucking Volo contacts you to say "Old friend (who's eye I may or may not have taken) I need some assistance."
and Volo, the godsdamned lunitic, has somehow involved himself in the disgraced open lord of Waterdeeps son being kidnapped.
So now you're contacting your friends (Karlach and Wyll are back from Avernus after fixing Karlach's heart, and they've adopted a little girl??? Okay cool. Shadowheart and Lae'zel, for some reason you don't understand, live on a farm with Shadowhearts parents, Scrach, and the Owlbear. they also have a son now... kay. Halsin says sure, he's been living in the woods with a bunch of orphans, this does not suprise you at all. Jaheira and Minsc are in Baldur's Gate with Jaheira's family, attempting to rebuild, this is also unsuprising. Astarion is living in your house, so you know what he's been up to, which is to say he's been up to shenanigans with you, the two girls who now live with you, the cat, and Tara.)
Volo has given you a tavern... that he had for some reason.
You are now running a tavern with your friends while there's a gang war in Waterdeep.
You are Gale, and you just want a nap godsdamned it.

Tumblr being the first social media site I ever used, when I joined as an adult, and the only one I used for several years was probably a terrible mistake because I now cannot comprehend how other sites work.
I recently made an instagram.
Was trying to figure out instagram. I do not understand how I’m supposed to find things I like.
Also I searched for outer wilds fanart, I don’t care about your face, please just show me outer wilds fanart.

So I know that dragons in 5e probably don’t shed their skin.
But could you imagine if they did?
You and your party have been told of this horrible dragon. For some reason, you go to attempt to slay, if not reason with it.
So you and your party sneak into the dragons lair.
and you SEE the dragon. It's... sleeping?
You and your party attempt to attack it, hoping to suprise it.
The wizard casts fireball, the blazing magic swirling in the air around you as the fire flies towards the dragon.
then... it... goes though the dragon? the entire thing bursts into flames?
then you're suddenly hit with lightning breath from behind because the real dragon HEARD that, and you realize that what you've done is attacked his shed skin.

Funnily enough, my half elf's mother is also a druid (her bio mother, however) but her mother couldn't take the emotional toll of having a daughter that she would outlive, so she and my characters human father stayed together until my half elf was 9, and at that point, she left to rejoin the druid circle she had left. Not fully abandoning her daughter, but not able to stand being around her too long.
My character, in contrast, is fiercely protective of her father because she's well aware of the fact she's going to outlive him. To the point she made a pact with a great old one to save him.
I agree. Lifespan differences are so incredibly interesting in how various races interact, and in the case of half elves specifically, how it affects their relationships with their biological families.
Half elves are so interesting to me.
You’re born to parents with ridiculously different lifespans. One parent could potentially live to be 750-1000 years old. The other parent has 100 years at best.
But you? You’ll probably live to be about 200.
And more often than not, you’re parents aren’t together long term.
Maybe you’re raised by your elven parent. You’re looked at with pity, a half human, not really an elf. You’re elven parent looks at you with dread, they know they’ll watch you age and die. Wither like a flower before them with nothing they can do to spare you or themselves.
Or maybe you’re raised by your human parent. They breathe a sigh of relief that they won’t outlive you. But they watch in fear as they watch themselves and the humans around them age as you stay young. They know that you’ll find yourself alone.
They’ve condemned you to forever live on the outside, regardless of whether you’ve been raised by humans or elves. You’re condemned to watch one parent die far too soon, while another remains young while you age and die.
(I’m playing a half elf, I was just thinking about how she must be viewed by her human father versus her elven mother.)
