U. Tesseract gets a cookie

this isnt technically done cause i want to make a proper background at some point but if i dont post something then itll just never get done so heres what is here.

i dont know why but i feel like hyperlanders are sort of jello like and translucent. thats mostly cause is some of the previous art ive seen of U Tesseract the eyes in the back can still be seen, so i kina interperate that as them being semi transparent, and when i think of semi transparent stuff i think of jello. probably not accurate but i just didnt know what else to do so... i also kinda made that desision cause i thought he just looked odd if he wasnt transparent. i think it adds to the otherworldyness of them. and then of course Rubix is gon try and give him a cookie. cause uh...cookies are great.

Art dump.

No clue how to make proper titles on mobile, so we get small text. But I have a bunch of doodles that I haven’t posted cause I just kinda forgot about them. These will be in chronological order so uh…yeah… some of these are biology or ecology stuff for space land, some of its just little character things.

This is one of the ‘plant’ concepts I had for spaceland. I kinda just refer to these ‘lollipops of doom’ because of what they do and are. Basically the top part is made of harden sugar and fibers, it’s a sod pink color, like bubble gum. And yes, it is edible. The ‘doom’ part of the lollipop has to do with that during the stormy season the top part bursts and the thousands of tiny jagged shards of sugar get blown about by the strong winds…and yes, they’re are deadly.

Over here I was messing around with the idea of the antenna functioning like hands, it looks like garbage. Glad I didn’t do that.

There’s a lot of stuff on this one. It’s mostly just a bunch of B Square stuff. Cause honestly, B is free real estate as far as characterization goes, since we don’t know anything about him other then him being the chief/president circles assistant. I like to think he’s pretty much the exact opposite of A Square.

Over here I was messing around with biome and armor ideas for the flatland campaign. Environments are very important to me because in my experience, a lot of campaigns don’t really have you need to think about traversal, and travel should be a challenge just as dungeons and combat should be. By having each biome or terrain have different challenges it forces players to interact with the natural world as well as NPCs, which I think would add to immersion.

Here I was just doing random doodles. Oh hey pathos is there. Also Orbiton is eating a sandwich. This was made before I changed Rubix from being Orbiton partner to her kid….and also made the tip of the antennae a reproductive organ…something on this page aged horribly. I was also messing around with the hand design…it’s horrid.

This is the first doodle I have with the newer flatlander designs. Honestly, the women look like weiner dogs. That triangle is actually from the B Square doodle page. Basically what I have for him so far is he’s B Squares best friend, he makes a living off of selling produce (particularly beans and peas). Also the relationship between him and B Squares is a bit odd because B Squares marriage with his wife was arranged and although they get along they arnt like…you know, like each other in that way. However, unnamed equilateral friend does have romantic interest in B Squares wife, and so B Squares decided to wingman for his bestie for his own wife. The surprising part I is it actually worked. Also A Square is also there, just being the sad confused old man that he is.

This one I did today actually. Decided I should get the scale down and since we now know that A Sphere is 18 inches I went ahead and put him there as well cause I think it’d be funny…haha, shorty. And then also A Square (my adaptation) cause you know… there’s also a couple baby Rubix doodles there as well.

No idea what tags to even put for something like this. Oh god it’s all so itchy. everything below my knees. I’m not really looking for advice because it will pass. And a damp rag and distractions ( like writing this) seem to be good enough for the time being. I cannot say I remember being in any state of spontaneous suffering like this in a long…long time… it all feels like urchin are growing under my skin. Tiny, numerous ghost urchins. They’re too weak to break free but they try so…so hard. It was worst at the bottom of my feet or between my toes, not because it occurred to me there most often, but because my skin there is simply too smooth to scratch effectively. I think I was half asleep for a lot of this two. Like, during a lot of this it was just understood that there were metal plates where my skin was because there wasn’t any flesh there anymore. I think this is the first time a sensation has bleed into a dream while it still held a concrete connection to the real body, that I inhabit, and that experiences the world. This was litterally just so persistent and so awful and happened to fuse with my unconscious in such a way that I think I might just have to draw it…to try and immortalize what this felt like in some way… or maybe I’ll do a short writing piece cause I never write and it could be a fun dable in a different medium.

whelp, i guess thats a thing now

so im in a spec bio server right? at a few weeks ago i had asked for advice on my project thus far and someone recommended giving spacelanders chromatophores, similar to how it is in the humbolt squid. but i wasn't sure about the idea. however since theyre brightly colored that created a narrative issue cause wouldn't a square just call Orbiton out as a chromatist immediately??? (that was also something i noticed in the ladd film, it just doesnt make since, i mean bro is BRIGHT YELLOW). anyways them having chromatophores solves that issue cause orbiton could just...de-saturate their colors. so i guess that means i need to detail visual languages involving that... (this is not the aformentioned biology post, that is in the works)

Small ish post. Made a pretty major change with how Rubix and Orbiton are with each other. They are no longer together as I have changed Rubix into Orbiton child.

Also they can go ahead and get their own tags since I’m gonna be posting more about them. Soonish there will be a biology post. I like biology. Biology is cool.

honestly towards the end of the texturing i was getting lazy. also i lied, shes not complete theres one more thing that needs to be done but im not sure when thats gonna happen. its litterally just the final touch and she'll be done.

also here's a quick video showcasing one of the many acursed things i encountered. basically what went wrong is one of the bones in the fingers was weight painted to the headphones. even though im not moving that bone specifically the headphone issue still presents itself because the finder bone is parented to the bone i was moving. it took me 5 minutes to fix this.

Bizarre dream (actually all my dreams are like this I just can’t remember most of them)

so I just woke up and I had this odd dream. From the beginning (from what I can remember).

so like, i was running around in the world of juice galaxy and then i confronted this guy who started summoning bubbles, and i had these wires wrapped around my left hand that ended in two prongs and the bubbles were attracted to it because of some ‘energy field’ so they would just pop on the prongs and not damage me. But then I bested the guy and he flew off into this giant ice cube fortress and was gonna crash it into the ‘ceiling of the world’ whatever that means. So like, someone (honestly I’m not even sure if the ‘main character’ of this dream was supposed to be me) drilled through the ice cube but it was like a maze so they gave up and let the man crash into the ceiling of the world and nothing happened. So then I get called back to HQ and I’m sitting on the sidewalk with some blond child and he tells me I did a great job and tells me to follow him. So we walk into the woods for a bit and come across this door and he check it out and says ‘if only I had a clue’ and then I say something about five levels and the door opens and a deep voice says “there are five levels to this dungeon” then the blond bly pokes his head in and is all like “yeah well check this out later” and we head deeper into the woods and towards this cabin we head inside and in a corner there’s an arcade machine with the word ‘Flatland’ on it and the boy explains that the machine ‘simulates astral projection’ so they could monitor the second dimension without having to project themselves….he immediately proceeds to teach me how to project myself and then I eat 2d churros and the dream ends.

also at some point there was this panic catfish with legs that was controlling a hoard of xenomorphs and predators (the xenomorphs were chasing the predators, I’m not even a fan of the franchise but oh well) and I talked to the psionic catfish and it said “I wanted to be more than a fish”. Honestly this might have been a fragment of another dream but I don’t know.

Also you’ll have to learn the gurps system, it’s not that difficult to understand and I can help you out. I just wanna gather specific information about what you’d want in the campaign so I can make the game as fun as possible. It will be hosted on a yet to be made discord server and will be play by post (meaning we won’t have to worry about scheduling). Currently my ideas for the campaign are either a post apocalyptic setting primarily taking place in space land (spacelander and flatlanders are playable) or maybe something involving timelines getting messed up.
