i'm glad you still got some helpful stuff out of it, but that experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that i don't think i could force myself to sit through another listen of the audio book. tho if you've got any highlights or pointers from the book you'd like to share i'm all ears

finally found an mp3 for one of the cleaning books i've been putting off, kc davis' how to keep house while drowning. three chapters in and it's already disparaging both konmari AND bullet journaling and the eye-rolling rage that induced in me woke me up from where i was nodding off while listening to davis

this is my like number 1 pet peeve, when cleaning/self-help/mental health or whatever books put down a different system to tout their own as better. it's the exact reason i've been putting off reading this book

it doubly pisses me off because davis not only boils konmari down to, "marie kondo says to tri-fold your underwear," as if the literal thesis of her method isn't already spelled out for you in her books' titles, but also adds bujo to the mix while tacking on shit about "self-help gurus undermining the physical, mental and economic privileges they hold" as if ryder carroll hasn't talked extensively about inventing thw bullet journal in order to manage his ADHD

like. hello??? what in the actual fuck are you talking about. can you maybe do a second of research instead of talking out of your ass

decluttering my phone apps rn and i'm debating on whether i should delete the tachiyomi app already. devs stopped supporting it around 01/15, so it'll be officially "dead" for two months in a week or so, but idk if enough time has passed for the new alt to have taken over the full functionality/support of tachiyomi. like i've fully migrated over but idk how long to wait before it's safe to delete

ughhhhh life's been super hectic lately so i keep forgetting to post here but i've finished reading a bride's story and crossplay love: punk x otaku. both fun reads for me despite how far-off they are from each other! also the villainess's stationary shop. i'm posting this here to remind myself to talk about em in more depth in the future

i also read a bit of ranma 1/2 mostly for the gender shenanigans, but it rlly is dated in a way that it's not very fun to read through from that angle. this is one of the few series where i think i'll def enjoy the material more with the anime, and even then it would mostly be something i put on in the bg while i do other things

hey i know it isn't immediately clear on this blog specifically because i try to curate my posts to all be 100% about the books i'm reading, but i stand with palestine. i'm saying this right now because i just noticed i got a follower that reblogs a bunch of posts about how "violent" the leftist pro-palestine movement is, that saying "death to israel" is antisemitic, and a bunch more mealy-mouthed nonsense that boiled down to "b-b-but won't someone think of the poor israelis while palestinians are being bombed and starved en masse!! 🥺"
