Adding to this because I noticed another thing about my type thanks to a new edition to the brainrot pile
Cool and/or funky coats are also liable to make me love a character
I'm learning I have a type when it comes to the characters I brainrot over and it's misunderstood men with bad fathers. No I will not examine this further why would this possibly say anything about me as a person

Fanfic writer asks: 11, 23, 29. (Thank you!)
Thanks you so much for the ask! (I ended up having things to do basically right after I reblogged it, but I'm here now!)
11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general? Hmmm. I'm trying to think of one, but it's difficult to sift through and figure out what was for fanfic and what was just from my own rabbit holes lol. Maybe that it was snowing in Indiana on December 23rd 1984. There are some thing with fanfic that I will absolutely just bullshit my way through, and then completely get absorbed in madness research for small details like that one.
23. how do you deal with writers block? Tbh I ignore it and hope it goes away lmao. But for real sometimes all it takes for me to come out of it is talking with someone and having a real conversation about the story or setting a timer for like 10-30 minutes where I just put on some music and force myself to write- kind of like a sprint! But without as much pressure to write a lot in the time frame. It's more to build the momentum by force
29. give us a spoiler for one of your stories. I don't currently have any fics in the works, but I suppose I could give a teaser for the book I've been trying to write for a while! The death god is not the villain for once. He's actually the main character and him not being a bad guy is actually part of the main plot of the entire book lmao
Link to the ask list if you want to send any (totally cool if not though!)
#ask game#thank you for the ask!#j writing#friend soph#i also remember researching what was in theatres#for the fic i mentioned in the research question#but i don't think i actually mentioned one#but yeah!#this was fun#fanfic asks#writing asks

Acknowledging that “critical thinking” means “thinking about things in a thorough way from different perspectives” and not “finding every flaw in a thing and fixating on it until all the joy is gone” is so liberating.
It’s supposed to be about intellectual curiosity, not about finding ways to devalue things that aren’t perfect or that we personally dislike.
