Mallari at Baconaua (Mallari and Baconaua). Mallari is a moon goddess in one of the various mythologies of the indigenous cultures of the Philippines. She's supposed to be very beautiful but one of her eyes is blind (from a fight with her brother Apolaque, the sun god). Baconaua, meanwhile, is a celestial dragon and one of the many moon-swallowing (i.e. eclipse myths) celestial creatures from Philippine mythology.

Colored a sketch in my sketchpad I kept coming back to do for some reason. A very loose and decorative interpretation of Storm, from the X-Men, done in a mixture of my own take on Art Nouveau, some ethnic jewelry elements, and some inspiration from Maxfiel Parrish's undercoated style. #ArtNouveau #Liberti #Jugendstil #MaxfieldParrish #Storm #X-Men #XMen #Comics #Marvel #MarvelComics #EthnicChic

Went to the Make Playing Cards site for a Gravenchase Lenormand deck but couldn’t seem to select it. Can you advise? Thanks. Dee Dunckley
Hello! I am sorry about the late reply. You can get it here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ParalumanStudio (it will still be printed by MPC). :)

For those of you anticipating the release of Tarot de Maria Celia, US Games has informed me that there has been a minor delay and its release, and that it will be available early next year instead. Still so excited about it (and the tin!)
Here's some more sample cards to tease you till its release (I am really loving the font they used!!!).

I know I haven't been posting a while. I've been going through some stuff. Anyway, just to keep this account updated with posts (albeit on old stuff), here's some images from Tarot of the Lepidopteran People, one of the first two decks I ever self-published. This was back in 2004/5 I think. The deck's title is inspired by the wording of the nicely retro deck, Tarot of the Cat People, as well as my childhood love for Zoology - Lepidoptera being the taxonomic classification of butterflies, moths and skippers. The correct form of the adjective would have been "lepidopteron" but I opted to use "Lepidopteran" instead, to distinguish my antropomorphic creatures from the actual insects they represent.

The Lord of the Setting Sun, (a personification of) Anorien. Tolkien-inspired art. Hopefully I can submit it as the Sun card for next year's round of a yearly collaborative tarot project I am a part of. He has a twin brother, Ithilien, the Lord of the Rising Moon (see the illustration I previously posted).

Something that didn't make it to the final cut. The Happy Squirrel card for the Anino Lenormand set I released a couple of months back. It wasn't included because the numbers were wrong - there were no extra cards left for it. I might include it in the "oracle expansion pack", if ever that idea pushes through.
(Also, FYI - The Happy Squirrel is sort of an inside joke to tarot folks. It's in reference to a Simpson's episode where Lisa went to a card reader to have her cards read and one of the cards that turned up was the Happy Squirrel card)

Work-in-progress. Moon card for a yearly collaborative tarot project. A bit Tolkien-inspired. The artwork's title is Lord of the Rising Moon. He has a twin brother (The Lord of the Setting Sun) which I hopefully can use as the Sun card for next year's deck.

Anyone here on Instagram? I’ve recently decided to revive my old (and then-empty) account there. Mostly because they now have a desktop app.

Sharing another review of The Gravenchase Lenormand I forgot to share here last month - because the past few weeks have been shitty as hell. :-/ She also asked me to do a guest article on how to use the Zodiac Oracles which come free with both The Gravenchase Lenormand and Anino Lenormand. It’s supposed to be out around this week.
Have a good week ahead, everyone! :)

Sharing a review of The Gravenchase Lenormand which was recently uploaded in Aeclectic Tarot (the forums may have shut down, but the main site still lives on). :) The deck is available here.

Two illustrations for the title cards of two consecutive collaborative tarot decks I've been participating in for a couple of years now. They depict Captan and Maguayen - wind deities (and lovers) of old Filipino mythologies, in colonial attire. Captan is a god of land winds while Maguayen is a goddess of sea winds.

Almost all my decks these past 15 years (been posting my tarot art there since 2002!) were created in Aeclectic Tarot Forums - each one had a deck creation thread there wher people would give inputs and suggestions on my works-in-progress. The experience really made me grow so much as a tarotist and as an artist.
The forums are closing down for good this July 14th. I'd like to pay back the community which helped my art by a small parting gift: I've taken off $5 from each of my currently available decks' regular price, and this will run till the 14th. :)
The decks are available via
my Etsy store and my GameCrafter store

Aquarius and Cancer cards from The Gravenchase Zodiac Oracle and Anino Zodiac Oracle. They come free when you purchase a copy of The Gravenchase Lenormand or Anino Lenormand (shameless plug lol).
The Gravenchase series was inspired by medieval woodcuts and manuscripts while the Anino series was inspired by shadow puppets and ethnic textile patterns.

Something from like more than 15 years ago, when I was just starting out learning Photoshop (not that I’ve gone very far with it haha). It’s one of the earliest incarnations of my longest ongoing project called the Masque Tarot (some photos of which I posted a while back). The project has undergone several style changes, as can bee seen in the older style of this card’s image.

Drawing for the Magician card of Tarot Gascot. Haven’t really finished coloring it yet. It was originally meant to be just a majors-only deck, but I am thinking maybe I can expand it into a full 78 card deck (albeit with less scenic pips, since this particular drawing style is difficult to color for me).
