pile 1: my first thought for this pile was a complicated relationship with your mother, unworthiness, perfectionism and parentification. i feel like for some of you, a lot of your traumas originate back from your childhood or the way your mom's parenting style impacted you while you were growing up, possibly something related to your education or career or the things she said about you to others. it probably made you feel as though you were not enough, so you started overcompensating. and this lead you here, to this cycle where you over give until you break. anyway, let's get into this. you are in a very specific cycle where you keep giving without receiving nothing in return, especially in relationships or your close friendships. people don't match your effort, your energy, your love, your affection, your time. you are represented by the empress: she wants things to grow, she wants people to thrive, just like you do. somewhere in your subconscious, you believe that your worth is measured by how much you can give without being asked so that people will see you as "valuable" and "good". this card was paired with the ten of swords, it screams of betrayal by those you trusted most. people keep draining you over and over again, people you nurtured turned their backs on you. relationships you poured all your energy into ended with silence. you have been learning the same brutal lesson: giving more doesn't guarantee being loved back. you always think as though you can do better, more, you can love more, soften more and maybe things will be different this time. but it always ends the same way and you are still forced to get up and resurrect yourself, even though you are deeply hurt by how little care or empathy you have been shown by others. this pattern becomes self perpetuating because you keep giving more in hopes it will finally create safety or connection only to be left feeling emptier than before. this pattern probably developed early in life, especially in situations where you were either parentified, emotionally neglected or praised only when you were "responsible" or "good" or brought home A's. you may have been placed in the role of the emotional stabilizer, the one who keeps the peace and keeps things functioning while holding it together for the whole family. eldest child or middle child perhaps. i feel this relates more to your mother rather than your father with the queen of pentacles being here. as a child you were constantly juggling, trying to manage everything without ever being asked what were YOUR needs or wants at that moment. now, you show up as someone who is EXTREMELY self reliant, perhaps even emotionally avoidant. you are perceived as calm and discerning but also emotionally unavailable, distrusting or private. you refuse to ask for help from others because you were taught that you can only rely on yourself. you may also be someone who avoids vulnerability out of fear that it will cost you more than it will give you. you intellecutalize your pain a lot and that makes it harder for people to get inside your mind. you've also had to learn boundaries through pain, you are someone who has high standards and is quick to cut off what feels unsafe or overwhelming. it's funny because you are so deeply intuitive but you have this tendency to dissociate or withdraw as soon as things get too intense for you. you're not cold, you are just afraid of the consequences that come with being open, so you hold your feelings and problems and wisdom close. hence why you often feel lonely and burned out. this pile reflects deep patterns of survival, self protection, an avoidant attachment style and feelings of unworthiness. patterns are learned and that means they can be unlearned, so fear not!

pile 2: this has a similarish vibe to pile 1 in relation to perfectionism, but the difference here is that you are more focused on being perceived as THE BEST by everyone, not just your family but even strangers. your pattern is overdrive, relentless motion, endless effort and a grasp for control no matter what. you move through life with so much ambition and yet so much pressure to succeed at all cost which can be a great thing and something i can relate to. one of the maaaany problems here is that even when you're tired, you keep going. you don't know how or when to stop, there is a part of you that believes that if you work harder and stay disciplined and keep everything tightly directed, then you'll finally arrive at your destination: success. what you long for isn't just success but that feeling of safety. being finally loved and respected by others. here comes the loop: hyperfunctioning to avoid collapse, you may feel like if you stop moving, everything will fall apart, so you don't stop even if it kills you. it's a heavy burden for sure. this pattern likely started after a traumatic event, something that relates to money or stability. maybe your home life was unpredictable and that led you to feeling unsafe all the time. either way, the tower suggests a moment of deep instability, sudden change or loss, a time where your life was totally turned upside down. it shattered your sense of stability or safety, it could have been a divorce, financial loss, trauma, abuse, abandonment. from that moment on, you decided you couldn't rely on anyone but yourself. maybe a father figure or the family's provider was absent or let you down multiple times, prompting you to become that person, prematurely. you might have had to grow up way faster than your peers, it's almost like you had no childhood at all. so now, you build your life around the idea of being the provider you needed while growing up, you want to become unshakeable. the moment things start to feel a little unstable, you throw yourself into work, plans and anything or anyone you can control. you don't want to feel that fear again and it's understandable, so you work hard enough to outrun it. workaholic syndrome for sure. overall it feels like you're extremely, deeply tired. you are exhausted and your body and your mind are begging for rest, stillness and recovery and yet you resist surrendering into it. you don't believe in "resting". even when you try to slow down, you are still thinking about what you need to get done by the end of that day, you are still holding so much tension in your body. it's like your checklist or goal list NEVER ends. your mind is feeling foggy or overwhelmed right now, you may struggle to make clear decisions or trust your clarity. i feel like you could relate a lot to vienna by billy joel, slow down you crazy child. there is too much input, too much pressure and not enough stillness for you to think clearly or act the way you want to. you want to be productive at all cost but it all ends with you feeling numb and disconnected. you might be also struggling to identify what you WANT because you're so used to doing what you SHOULD. "where's the fire, what's the hurry about? you'd better cool it off before you burn it out, you've got so much to do and only so many hours in a day". vienna was written for you for sure lol

pile 3: random observation but this is the only pile that had 3 major arcanas as their cycle, that's so curious to me. maybe number 3 is relevant to you in some way. i feel like this pile relates to a cycle of family expectations, performance and putting on so many masks for others that eventually you started losing yourself. it might feel to you as if you're playing a role in your day to day life, pile 3. you are stuck in a cycle of chasing external validation from your family, striving to do things the right way, your parents might have chosen for you your a career/education path and you let them do that, you might have had different dreams or wishes but you still went with it because deep down you crave their recognition, approval and their structure. all of this often comes from outside of you, not from within. it's not that you can't think for yourself, it's just that you don't want to. you might have internalized rules or systems that promised belonging, such as cultural norms, family expectations, achievement midnsets and performance ideals (like i have to do this by the time i'm 20, i have to have x amount of money by the time i'm 25 and so on). those rules come with invisible chains, they dictate who to be and how to shine. you've learned to play your part quite well, perhaps due to the fact that you have been praised so much for your light, your talent or your competence. and yet, it all feels so suffocating. you struggle so much with people pleasing that you don't even know yourself anymore, you crave freedom but you also fear rejection. so you keep meeting the standard, no matter the personal cost. it's going to sound boring but it definitely originated from your childhood, this began as hope or as potential. you were likely a very gifted child in some way, smart, bright, creative or unusually mature. there was a sense that you were destined for something greater, so your parents or your family might have started to project their dreams onto you. you were seen as having value but that value was conditional. your gifts and talents were admired but only when they served a bigger purpose. your dreams weren't encouraged but your family's were. they probably implanted some idea of success into your head and you were basically led down that path from a very young age (think those child stars or super young athletes and so on). so somewhere along the way you have started equating being chosen or being praised with being loved. now you carry that equation into your adult life, trying to turn yourself into someone people will see as worth investing in. unfortunately this comes with the grief of unmet hopes. you might still be holding onto a dream, even though you think it's unrealistic or not aligned with who you are supposed to be. right now, this pattern shows up as leadership. you may be or appear to be in a position of power, visibility or confidence. and yet, you yearn for more. you still feel like you have to hold it together and keep going, you can't afford the same softness or kindness you reserve to others. you might even feel invisible in the very spaces where you're admired because it might feel like an act to you. huge identity crisis for sure. you might even resent your own gifts or talents because you feel like it's because of them that you're now feeling this way. the five of pentacles also shows deep emotional abandonment, feeling unsupported, unchosen or like no one sees you beyond the image you worked so hard to project. this pattern is heartbreaking because it works. you're often praised and admired but you still can't feel any of that love. the system you’re stuck in rewards you for staying stuck in it. you succeed to be worthy.
