Tiktok is suppressing my video but I trust y'all Ancient Rome freaks (affectionate) will appreciate it
P.s. my tiktok is actually the tiktok for the classical studies department where I study! @ classical.studies.biu
Most of the content isn't in English, but if you want to follow us I'd appreciate it (we're trying really hard to attract new students)

THE problem w studying history/classics imo is that its sometimes... too relevant to current events. do ppl who study sciences n stuff deal w this. r they ever like 'i cant rn, this equasion is just too real'

"what did students do before chatgpt?" well one time i forgot i had a history essay due at my 10am class the morning of so over the course of my 30 minute bus ride to school i awkwardly used by backpack as a desk, sped wrote the essay, and got an A on it.
six months later i re-read the essay prior to the final exam, went 'ohhhh yeah i remember this', got a question on that topic, and aced it.
point being that actually doing the work is how you learn the material and internalize it. ChatGPT can give you a short cut but you won't build you the the muscles.

So I personally think that getting a classical studies degree should also come with full legal permission to violently murder at least just one (1) Percy Jackson fan. Please.

one of my favorite things about classics blogs is each one has like a favorite guy or couple guys and you can tell. i love opening peoples (clearly) classics blogs and figuring out which roman senator or poet or greek general or whatever theyre obsessed with. sometimes its explicit but other times you get to figure it out and that is amazing too. one of the great joys of life
