a/n: LET US TAKE A MOMENT TO APPRECIATE GLASSES REID. LOOK AT HIM. OMG. this has been proof read, but i'm blind as shit so please let me know if there are any mistakes, and feel free to send me some requests. the fandoms and people i write for are here!

his pen was tapping on the desk in a constant rhythm, a dull echo filling the otherwise silent room. we were sat opposite each other, eyes latched onto the board on the other side of the room. we'd been like that for a while, only ever moving to occasionally take a sip of coffee, or to stretch. it felt like we were missing something, something glaringly obvious, but neither of us, nor the rest of the team, could figure it out.

we had been left in the station, happily agreeing to stay and figure out the geographical profile, and work with penelope to find any link between the victims.

so far? nothing.

we had worked out the geographical profile ages ago, high fiving each other with smiles before we turned our attention to the now 6 victims. they looked nothing alike, and lead very different lives, ranging from a 13 year old girl, to a 78 year old grandmother. the only similarities was that all of the victims were women.

i sighed again, rubbing my eyes with the palms of my hands before i pulled them away, catching a glimpse of my book that had been abandoned on the table. i jolted out of my seat, rushing over to the board to stare at the photos, rereading the details of their deaths.

"what is it?"

spencer asked, rushing over to my side to glance at the board before his eyes fell back to me. i didn't quite hear him, still staring at the photos, my eyes widening when i found exactly what i was looking for. i turned to face spencer, pointing at each of the women's left eyes.

"horror literature. that's what links them. they've all been killed and mutilated according to classic pieces of horror literature. i'm reading 'lord of the flies' and it just hit me."

spencer's eybrows raised, waiting for me to continue, and i took a deep breath, pointing at each woman as i spoke.

"lily andrews had all of her blood drained and had four small puncture wounds on her neck; dracula. millie mayweather was cut apart and then had her body parts reattached; frankenstein. amber jones was poisoned; dr jekyll and mister hyde. danielle smith was starved and then crushed by a boulder; lord of the flies. nancy williams was killed in a boiler explosion; the shining. amy mudrow was thrown out of a window; the exorcist. all six of these women have been killed in a way that emulates people or deaths in those books, which means we're looking for someone who is obsessed with the horror genre, specifically horror literature."

the room fell into a silence again, and i glanced back up at spencer. his eyes were wide with wonder, his mouth slightly open. my eyebrows creased, and i placed my hand on his cheek, opening my mouth to speak, but being cut off by spencer.

"i love you"

his words caused me to freeze, muscles tensing and eyes widening. i blinked, words catching in my throat. he seemed to notice my frozen state, and his eyes also widened, panic setting in.

"sorry, that was just incredible. you're incredible. you linked all of the victims because you happen to be well versed in horror literature. you're amazing. i mean, i already knew you were amazing, but-"

i cut him off by placing my hand over his mouth, giggling softly as his brow creased considerably, staring at me with confusion.

"i love you too, spencer"

i responded softly, moving my hand away from his mouth. he relaxed visibly, cupping my face softly before he leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. i responded immediately, kissing him back as i wrapped my arms around his neck. the clearing of a throat behind us caused us to rip apart from each other, red beginning to stain our cheeks as we turned to look at derek and emily. they were both smirking, causing our cheeks to redden.

"you're never going to let us live this down, are you?"

i muttered, already knowing the answer as emily and derek both responded with a laugh and a simultaneous shake of the head.

"oh my god, are you jealous?"

he turned to me with a glare, all but throwing his bag down on the double bed, shrugging his jacket off and letting it fall onto the pristine white sheets. he didn't respond, and i felt my lips curling into a smirk, tugging my shoes off and sliding them next to the bed. i sat down on the end of the bed as he rose to place his shoes next to mine.

"there's nothing wrong with being jealous, spencer. it's completely natura-"

i was cut off by the warmth of his lips on mine, hands cradling my face and pulling me impossibly closer, my neck craning up to deepen the kiss. i placed my hands over his, forgetting whatever it was i was going to say. he was the first to pull away, smirking at me slightly.

"why would i be jealous when you're already mine?"

he was so close to me, our noses touching, lips brushing against each other as he spoke, sharing the same air in the tiny space our faces were occupying. i raised an eyebrow at his words, a sly grin painting itself on my lips.

"oh yeah?"

i challenged, nudging my nose against his, staring so deeply into his eyes that i felt as though he could see into my very soul.

"prove it"

i whispered, my smirk falling from my face the second he pulled my lips back onto his, a newfound hunger in the kisses as i slipped my hands around his neck, gasping softly when he pushed my shoulders back. he pulled our lips apart, a smirk now growing on his lips as he hovered above me, my cheeks involuntarily turning a dull pink. he, as i had done to him, nudged my nose with his own, leaning down to press his lips against the shell of my ear.

"with pleasure"

his lips were warm on mine, hands falling to rest on my waist softly. his grip was barely there, hovering over the cotton covered skin like he was asking for permission. i smiled into the kiss, covering his hands with my own and placing them on my hips. my own hands moved up slowly, coming to rest around his neck to play with the hair at the nape of his neck.

he was the first to pull away, cheeks painted a soft pink, shadows from the few candles we had pulled together dancing on his skin. his eyes were illuminated with a soft orange, twinkling like the stars we had been watching moments before. i smiled, moving one of my hands to cup his cheek.

"you're beautiful, spence"

i murmured, so quiet i didn't think he heard me. he had, of course, and his cheeks lit up in a bright pink, eyes falling to stare down at the blanket beneath us. his brain was short circuiting, and he opened and closed his mouth a few times, unsure of what to say. his eyes eventually snapped back up to mine, a shy smile playing on his lips as he took in my features.

"takes one to know one"

before i even had time to open my mouth, his lips were on mine again, the thought lost as we melted into each other.
