I broke up with him so I feel like this is a no win situation. Like he wants to show me he has moved on. If I dont show then I look like  I hold a grudge, but if I do go it will be awkward, I just don’t know. Its tough.”

Macaroons that they do in my bakery are the best in New York as the  pastry chef is from paris :)

I”m going to need a joint replacement, eventually. I’m trying to put it off- don’t wanna start replacing stuff before fifty.”

“Well let me know when the time comes as you are gonna need help, I can look after the girls any time and  if you need to me to take you home from the hospital then I’m there. Until then,  if you need anything, you know I am there for you.”

Caleb raised his eyebrows, letting out a slight nervous laugh. “All of that sounds fantastic, but I don’t exactly have a ‘love of my life’ at the moment. I suppose I could settle with doing most of that with a close friend.”

“Caleb, you need to find love.. you are handsome and funny and smart. You need to find a person who can just look after you on your day off as you spend all your time taking care of everyone else. I would marry you in a heartbeat but I’m pretty sure I’m not your type.”She said with a knowing smile. “ You know what... we should go speed dating.”

Silas sputtered for a moment, rolling his eyes, “Pearl! I was sending out a quick message to Walker, alright? I didn’t think she’d be so fast. Gotta leash the little beastie now, I suppose.” He huffed, still catching his breath. 

“Stop calling her a beast.” She giggled and held the small child close to her chest. “ C’mon lets get you back to the bench before you pass out, I have donuts for us  and bread to feed the birds. How’s the leg doing?” She asked looking at his leg with a small frown

“Shouldn't you get the job first?” Pearl asked chewing on her lip. “ Wait.. was he hot?”  Pearl wiggled her brows then winked at him. “ Maybe he is just trying to get a little slice of Carter y’know.” 

“Some dude who came in late at the diner asked me if I wanted to be a model for his clothing line. Pretty sure it’s just an indie brand of like, super comfy shorts for men with bigger thighs and butts, but I’m so for it. Also that means he was probably staring at my ass the entire time but. So exciting! Should I cut my hair? Should I celebrate?”

Pearl was walking along the path, looking at the way summer had made the park more beautiful, when she saw a little girl come running to her reaching up for a hug. “ Oh hello there cutie.” She said scooping her up and then saw Silas. “ Si.. you know that looking after her means actually looking at her.” She said with a giggle. “ She is so adorable.”

Silas was sat in a park, sun shining down bright, his youngest daughter Serena playing in the grass with a few toys. It had been a nice day- his daughter had just been figuring out walking, toddling along a few steps before falling onto her ass. He had been sending out a text to his son quick, a picture, and when he looked up, he was surprised to see Serena making a beeline toward someone, faster than he’d expected her to be able to move. He scrambled onto his feet- though with one bad knee- it was a slow scramble, “Watch out. Watch out for her! She’s a feral little beast.” He called out.

“Excuse me.” Tempest looked up from her coffee and spoke to another person. “Could you do me a real favor and pretend to be my friend for maybe five minutes. There’s an elderly man with his wife on the other side of the patio watching me like I’m about to start a fight or something because I’m the only one out here alone. I just want them to stop staring through my soul.”

“Sure, only if you can pretend to be my friend for the next twenty minutes as my ex is going to walk by with his new girlfriend and I need to look like I am not a sad and lonely spinster.” She said smiling as she took a seat and sipped her latte. “ Why the old folks giving you evils?”

“How about a walk in the park followed by trying different types of ice cream without buying any, then a boat ride to the statute of liberty and then a take out and a good movie in bed with  the love of your life?”

“So, I did the math… turns out, I haven’t had a proper day off from the coffeeshop in about a month and a half. I can’t believe it. What should I do today? I honestly haven’t the faintest idea where to start.”

Pearl

pearl oldman is a 34 year old hetreosexual cisfemale that was born on august 5th. she lives in Manhattan, but they’re originally from New York city, NY. they are a fabric designer for a living, and often get told they look like Blake lively. we wish them the best of luck in the city that never sleeps!

Here’s the pearl of the city...

Pearl Annabella Oldman was born in Greenwich Village and had a simple cheerful life until a car accident which caused her to be deaf in one ear. She never let that bother her and  worked her way through NYU to become a fabric designer for a well known clothing company. She met a man through university and they spent a lot of time together and started dating, it lasted five years until the love faded and they stayed friends. Now in her own apartment in the city, Pearl is ready to have a social life again.

 She is a shoe fanatic and would literally give up food for shoes. 

Although she is deaf  only in one ear, she can lipread and sign should she meet anyone else who is hearing impaired. 

She has a younger sister and  they are close friends. 

Pearl doesnt really like negative people and tends to avoid them.

Her favourite ice cream is coconut.

Pear loves her new apartment and decorated it herself.

Whenever she feels sad or lonely she feeds the birds in Central Park. 

She cannot stand tuna, it makes her gag.

her favourite programme is Suits. 

Her Ideal man is Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal or Jensen ackles.
