The final installment in my Rings of Power portrait series! Galadriel 9/9

I have so many feelings about Galadriel. I chose this image of her as my references because I think it really shows her at her most conflicted, making the final decision about her future.

There’s a lot in that moment about moving on from the past, and deciding who you’re going to be.

Adar- Rings of Power series 8/9

In this house we Stan a villain who is a hero in his own mind. Does he kill a lot of people? Sure. Does he destroy an entire ecosystem? Absolutely. Does he facilitate the death and enslavement of the orcs he claims to love so much? Yes, of course. BUT HE DID IT FOR THEM!

Side note- Can we talk about the complexity of @realjosephmawle ‘s facial expressions? His acting is so beautifully subtle. He’s underrated.

The Stranger- Rings of power series 7/9

I adore Daniel Wayman’s portrayal of this enigmatic character. (But he’s totally Gandalf right? I hope he is, it’s such a good origin story for him)

The greatest strength of Rings of Power (except the design which is so spectacular I can’t even rank it) is that it’s showing us more of Tolkien’s world than we’ve ever seen before. I can’t wait to see what adventures the Stranger and Nori are going to face.

Bronwyn- Rings of Power series 6/9

I love Bronwyn’s story. I love seeing seemingly ordinary people do extraordinary things, like standing up to invaders and defending their homes. It’s one thing for a centuries old near unkillable elf with expert combat skills to stand up to hoards of orcs, it’s quite another for a woman from a village to stand up to the army of evil with only a handful of humans with farm tools at her back. I know there’s pushback on her story line but I really think it’s in line with Tolkien’s themes of ordinary people saving the world from evil.

Who is the best character in Rings of Power and why is it her? I love everything about her, the style, the attitude, the potential Lady Macbeth heel turn at the end. Hell yes. We Stan.

Say what you will about casting in the show but I think Robert Aramayo absolutely nails young Elrond.

I am exceptionally proud of this piece. The color pallet is really doing it for me.

The next portrait in my Rings of Power series, markella.kavenagh as Nori. Hobbits (Harfoots included) always speak to my heart and I adore the view of pre-shire halflings. And of course Nori is the most adorable creature in middle earth.

I’ve been working on #inktober this year, and for today’s prompt “skitter” I tried to draw a cat from memory using a sharpie.

And it looked terrible.

So then I had to convince myself that I understand how to draw cats.

As you can see, I am an expert at cats.

Bob Ross

I have a deep love for Bob Ross. My grandmother, who passed away a few years ago, was a remarkable artist. I remember on days that I spent with her we would watch Bob Ross tapes together. She would paint along, but she never painted what he was painting, her favorite were desert scenes. I would lay on the floor with markers or crayons and draw along. He was an inspiration for countless artists over generations and from countries all over the world.
