hi! i was just wondering who your favorite dancers are?
Hello! There's quite a long list...I'll try to narrow it down to my absolute favourites, and dancers that I have seen perform / are currently dancing with companies / etc. I do admire the usual suspects, however - Nureyev, Misha, Fonteyn, and the like.
I'm absolutely in love with the ensemble at Stuttgart. In particular, Friedemann Vogel, Marijn Rademaker, Sue Jin Kang, Evan McKie, Alexander Jones, and Alicia Amatriain. Such a talented company!
At ABT, I think Daniil Simkin, Roberto Bolle, Julie Kent, Gillian Murphy, Paloma Herrera, Angel Corella, Sarah Lane, and David Hallberg are absolutely wonderful.
Andrei Merkuriev, Ivan Vasiliev, and Natalia Osipova from the Bolshoi are brilliant, too. I'm also fond of Chi Cao from the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Yuhui Choe from the Royal Ballet. Need to mention Polina Semionova, Mathieu Ganio, and Isabelle Ciaravola as well.
There's a plethora of fantastic dancers at the National Ballet of Canada: Jiri Jelinek (formerly of Stuttgart), Xiao Nan Yu, Greta Hodgkinson, Guillaume Côté, and Aleksandar Antonijevic are obvious standouts. Zdenek Konvalina, too - but he's just left the company for the English National Ballet, it seems. In the up-and-coming category, I predict that Chelsy Meiss, Naoya Ebe, Brendan Saye, Elena Lobsanova, and Dylan Tedaldi will do great things.
Clearly I wasn't able to narrow it down, haha. But there you go, my favourite dancers as of right now!
