Okay, so I wanted to write a civilian x kakashi fic myself because I see most fics avoid it these days (understandably). I'm Inoue shiori fan, fanfictions got me into the "Kakashi cult", for the context. And I wanted to try something more traditional? Sorry I'm going off. But then, I read this fic ( I adore it btw), Idk if you've read it; https://archiveofourown.org/works/5059978/chapters/11637067, (it also has a sequel where the whole ordeal is from Kaka pov) I got tired just reading the fic with how evasive Kakashi was being (or maybe that was my 3 am memory exaggerating). So, I decided to drop my endeavour.

So, how how would you rate kakashi's behaviour there(if you have time to read, (´∩｡• ᵕ •｡∩`), please)?

Haha i've never been asked to read a fanfic and what I think of it before. I find the people that became big fans of Kakashi through fanfic super interesting, I didn't venture into fics until I was nearly out of the fandom tbh.

Anyway, I have read this fic before! It was YEARS ago and I remember loving it, and the writer was very talented, even though of course I'm sure that I might not agree with every little aspect of the portrayal of Kakashi, just because we are different people and that's what happens when we all create our own works of an established character. I definitely don't have time to read it again though, and I haven't read a fic in literal years, so I'm not sure if I can really get on the fic train again any time soon! But I remember reading this writer's other story, The Wolf, and loving it!

But just to answer your question - I do think it's realistic af that Kakashi would be evasive and the s/o would have to be persistent in their faith, as annoying as that might be, but I can't answer specific details. That would involve reading it again which is time I don't have, and also going all in on picking apart someone else's work publicly, which feels a little strange for me, aha.

Kakashi with a chubby/fat s/o?

Hey anon! I just don't think how he'd behave or think would really change all that much. Everything I've said about Kakashi with an s/o can be applied to a plus size s/o, literally does not factor in. He is not specific in what he is physically attracted to and I've no reason to believe he wouldn't find a chubby s/o attractive. Maybe he could understand that they may get insecure sometimes, especially in a society that probably is fatphobic, but he's big on reassuring them. Most of all, he'd love a s/o that is confident in themselves and loves themselves, and he's happy to help them achieve that state of mindwhen they waver.

Can I request a insight into Kakashi with vegan/vegetarian s/o please? If it's not too much bother, I'd like to know how you imagine the couple would adjust? What Kakashi would think, how they adjust their meal habits, if he likes the food, if they cook together or if they cook for each other still, etc. Thank-you

I think Kakashi would be fine with a vegan/vegetarian s/o. I can see him enjoying the food, and most of it is healthy and he strikes me as a health nut.

More logistically, it depends, if the s/o does the majority of the cooking, then obviously he'd adapt to eating mostly vegetarian food and only eat meat if he's cooking for himself or if he eats out. If the s/o wants a more equal split, then he'll cook vegetarian meals etc on his days but I don't think he'd switch to completely cooking 100% vegetarian food for all of his time. They'd enjoy cooking together too!

The only time I see it being an issue is if a) the s/o expects him to assume all cooking responsibilities

b) adopt to their values

In terms of what he'd think - he's pretty open-minded and understanding, but whether he'd follow it himself is a whole other story. I think it comes down to a cultural thing - having lived in Japan, there's just a completely different attitude and philosophy to eating meat and animal consumption, so that's largely why I don't think he'd necessarily be compelled to adopt a plant-based diet himself. It's so deeply entrenched into the culture here - I don't think I've ever met a Japanese vegetarian/vegan in all my time living here and I've asked if they ever consider it, they always say no. I have a few dietary restrictions myself and I've ran into a lot of people just *not* getting it. But like i said, I definitely see him enjoying vegetarian food, but I still feel like he would want meat and fish in his diet.

Yes, he could, it just would take a lot longer. I just think the situationship/sex before relationship thing would be his way of addressing the sexual tension/attraction without dealing with his *issues*, and that's why I think it's a likely that that's how he segues into a relationship.

He just has to do a lot of internal work to be ready to enter into a serious relationship with somebody, and it would have to be someone he already has an attachment too as well as attraction, and just the amount of time that would take without sex coming into the equation makes it a little less likely.

But not impossible!

They probably just start off as friends or comrades, not a huge part of each other's lives but have spent time together in certain situations like missions etc, enough to build up a connection. But he just has to do a lot of internal work before addressing on any romantic feelings. And it's hard for me to imagine him pursuing a partner with the interest of a relationship from the get-go, you know? Which is why I think how these feelings would come to the surface would be a kiss or something after a lot of tension, you know? But it doesn't have to necessarily involve sex.

Idk, even the word 'situationship', like yeah I guess a lot of my previous headcanons do entail that kind of scenario but I never thought of it like that, like it's a very contemporary dating issue being applied into a different world so it's kinda hard for me into the specifics of how Kakashi might enter into a relationship in a normal way because I think it'd be very hard for him to? Having relationships isn't an established part of his life and whilst I do see him potentially pursuing sex easily I don't see him doing the same with a relationship unless they already had a super strong connection to each other, which sex helps facilitate.

But again, not impossible! I just don't really know how it would go beyond them developing a close friendship with an underlying attraction, then some tense situation might force that attraction out, like my previous headcanons about them having a bad fight about a mistake on a mission, which might culminate in a kiss. But then maybe the OC can put up a boundary, saying that they don't think it's right for them to have sex. And then maybe it can force him into dealing with his own feelings for this person, and maybe say that he wants to have a relationship with them.
