“You’ve had a long journey, haven’t you?” Zephyr is leading her through the thick woods, only armed with a small golden dagger that they use to cut away any foliage in the way. “You came from so far north, I’m amazed that you survived this long.” They look over their shoulder, and there is no contempt in their eyes or on their freckled face. Just kindness and sympathy.

Sage wants to stop walking for a moment to stare at the sky, allow her weary body to rest just for a few minutes. It wasn’t until hours ago, at dinner, did she realize just how tired she is. How on edge she’d been – how on edge she still is, but like Nyx had told her, they don’t have much time to rest. They’re here to hopefully get the Emperor and Empress of Ayathia to help them as her mother has already formed a large army to begin invading where they can.

also in trans news that should be talked about. laverne cox has stated that on saturday her and a friend were assulted in a park and it’s not really getting the same attention as elliot. we can still be proud of him without ingnoring what happened to laverne and her friend.

if you claim ally ship to the trans community then you can’t ignore the bad things that happen to especially trans woc. and if you’re a white trans person you can’t just talk about other white trans people. it just shows that you only care about trans people if they are white and that shouldn’t be the case.

if your gonna talk about elliot please also talk about laverne. she deserves better and we should all do better to raise up the voices of black trans women.

I don’t study genocides war crimes and human rights for fun. I study it bc my people have been at the foot from the very first genocide of the 20th century and previous attempts to exterminate my entire race. The fact that no one is speaking up when another genocide is at the brink of occurring to the ethnic Armenians living in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) is mind blowing. I have to say I’m not surprised by the lack of effort - Americans, especially, are the most self interested humans I’ve met. This isn’t about narrative, this is about rapid belligerent individualism. We can philosophize all day about it but at the end - people don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. There is rarely any altruism left in this world. As Monte said, no ones gonna fight for us, we will have to fight on our own to survive. The alternative is not an option.

“So you want to play it like that?” Lev asks softly, his hand going up to push back my hair. I snap at his fingers, but he grabs my hair and yanks my head back. I glare at him, shooting him the most loathing look I can muster. Faster than my eyes can follow, he backhands me across the cheek, an agonized cry coming from the corner.  

“Please, please,” Pavel sobs as my head cracks to the side. “Please, I’m begging you - I’ll do anything -” 

“I’ll kill you, I fucking swear it -” I gasp, pain reverberating throughout my entire head. “Bastard -” 

Lev grabs my hair and yanks violently, causing a shameful yelp of pain to escape me. “That’s not how we talk to our superiors, now,” he hums as I pant. My vision goes red.
