my favorite cinematic theme is when a woman finds out her spouse is cheating on her and she cheats back, watching him cry bc he thought he’d never get caught & she’d never get her lick back. Like he spends time laughing at her perceived naïveté, but in reality, she never cared. And now, she no longer has to pretend to, doesn’t have to tend to his curated version of reality.
