Clearing up some things:
Chains and the Abyss do not exist here. Though chains can be represented through things like stuffed animals and pets. The Abyss is just an old fairytale.
If they share the last name, they are obviously related though it doesn't have to blood related. They could be related by either marriage or adoption as well.
I guess the family rivalries still exist and stuff like that.
I'm still not sure what time period this is set in, but I know it takes place in England.
The school does in fact have uniforms and there will be separate dorms for both students and teachers. The teachers of course have more free reign.
