I’m not dead I promise!

I’m so sorry posts have been late lately. I’m gonna be completely honest and say the last one took me forever and I’ve been super busy. But I’m still working hard to keep posting my art.

Here is a little easter themed comic I made (because I clearly missed the holiday) and I wanted to do a post with Raph. Raph, like with all the turtles, is Kip’s ULTIMATE big brother. He was the first to truly understand she wasn’t one of Baron Draxum’s tricks, the mental issues and high standards she put on herself, and how she was just a kid who wanted to be loved. He comforts her on her mistakes and is a key part in Kip’s mental healing journey.

Kip in the Mutant Mayhem universe has a similar connection to her Raph but as that version of him is fueled with more anger, Leo and Raph sort of switch roles in that universe.

One more note: I don’t know if anyone saw this in the hashtags but please ask as many questions as you’d like about either Kip or Ellie or any other character I post! I love to talk…which I’m guessing you can tell.

For quite a bit of time, Kip had very little confidence. She didn’t talk a lot about things, didn’t share her music often. She still felt trapped in this idea of what was expected, even if her family were very accepting of who she was. Leo was that person who understood that on a bit of a deeper level than she thought he did and was her main cheerleader in everything she did. She also got a but load of sass from him too.

Heyo!

I really wanted to figure out the sort of basics of how these random dorks became a couple of random dorks. I didn’t want one of them to instantly have a “love at first sight” thing (2012 ifykyk) and their relationship grow from an unlikely friendship to a ridiculously hilarious period of pinning.

In season 1 we kinda have Ellie introduced as Leo’s friend. She’s a super happy and positive thinking character who is completely different from Donnie. Donnie loves Science and is very passionate on it, Ellie loves fashion and is a little upset over the fact that he sees it as more of a hobby that isn’t even that hard. Even after being around the brothers for so long, Donnie has very little interest in her life and just finds her plain annoying. They don’t bicker often but eventually Donnie gets a sort of idea that there’s a little more to her than probably even Leo knows.

We then get to the end of season 1 and start of season 2, right where that fight with Shredder is and for some reason (which I have yet to determine) Ellie’s magic awakens in this random burst. Since it’s very dangerous and Barry has very little knowledge of its origins, Donnie volunteers himself on figuring out what and how it works. With spending a little more time with each other, they get a better understanding of why they act and do what they do. It’s only till Ellie actually saves Donnie’s butt with a trade of her most prized possession (her hair) does the romantics of it all sort of start.

I also decided to play on the idea of Donnie’s “cute but mean type” because I found it funny. Like, he suspected the winged insects crawling around his stomach for a while but this annoying sunshine girl just whipped 3 shipping containers at a bunch of Foot soldiers Ike it was a set of pillows and proceeded to turn around and ask if he was okay…He is not okay. But yeah they’re adorable in the future and probably CJ’s only set of experience of a lasting and healthy relationship.

Rise Kip has launched!

This was my first version of Kip I designed (Since it was way before the MM movie) and I’m always adding little tweaks and details to her. The Rise ver follows around the same story except the Shredder is replaced with Draxum with maybe a bit of a redemption thing between them? I’ll figure it out later :)

P.S: They kept the raccoon. His name is Bartley.

New character unlocked!

Meet Ellie Cortez; fashion queen, self diagnosed sunshine girl and magic wielder. She met the turtles at 6, shortly after April, when she ran off and somehow ended up lost in the sewers. From then on, she became an official member of the Mad Dogz and Leo’s bhff (best human friend forever). She of course loves the turtles equally, even Donnie. Maybe she likes him a bit too much…
