let not time deceive you (you cannot conquer time) by Draco_sollicitus, Academia AU, 85.7k, complete, Nicky is a PhD candidate, looking for someone to translate a famed love poem by a little known poet in an extinct dialect. See: Joe. Different meeting, academia, angst with a happy ending, a wild ride.

Iris by pinesboi, Wild West AU, 62.1k, complete, Yusuf leaves New York to put down roots as a blacksmith in the Idaho Territory. Nicky works on Andy's ranch just outside of town.

Junction Prompt: Worlds Collide

Characters from two different fandoms meet.

some injuries will immediately incapacitate a human without exception, obviously. but there are plenty of injuries that will have varied impacts on people—aka your characters. i think how characters respond to pain and discomfort is an interesting look into their experiences, personalities, and even physicalities. i think it's also realistic to give your characters varied responses to different types of pain & discomfort.

from experience, someone who can walk off a major broken bone injury might be laid out flat by a sinus headache.

someone who's covered in tattoos might faint getting a routine blood draw because they forgot to eat breakfast.

human bodies are funny and we can't really control how we react to things.

Junction 2025 Writing Prompts

This month for Pixel Grove is a little more difficult than what you may be used to, but stick with it, think outside the box, and enjoy the creativity that flows!

Junction is Pixel Grove's June writing event focused on the idea of meeting points—whether it’s two fandoms colliding, blending unexpected genres, or exploring relationships that rarely get the spotlight.

Use the prompts to combine fandoms or universes in crossovers, blend genres, put your spotlight on rarepairs or unconventional relationships, and explore ideas that bridge the gaps you see in your fandom/writing.

Had a dream last night where I was at a Critical Role live show and was with a group of seven randoms that got picked at the gates to play NPCs with some kind of connection to Campaign 3 PCs. We were sat in the centre of the small stadium on the ground with great view of stage -- players were behind us though, stage was reserved for visuals. That's not important, though.

The important bit was that the show started with 20 vocalists singing a theme (Thursday Night), followed by a random guy picked from the crowd to play bassoon. Taliesin Jaffe was called to the stage to sing so joined 1960s Willy Wonka style complete with cane wearing a teal glitter suit. After first song, he then pulled out an electric guitar (also blue and sparkly) and Michael J Fox'd his way through a few songs with this bassoon player.

Anyway, the game started and we were all on an asteroid. I think I was playing a barbarian but we were asked to role something to apply to our stats and it was stupid complicated because each stat needed a different dice and a different amount of dice and I hadn't paid attention to the instructions because I was trying to find my subclass in a book and then the book came apart and pages fell out. As I was trying to reorder the book pages to read, Liam O'Brien had one of his characters basically storm Fortuna Villa on this asteroid.

So anyway, that was my weird critical role dream last night.
