it’s quite alright, it was I who was intruding. I apologize if I made you uncomfortable.
my deepest apologies
Is there someone on the rooftop next to my building staring at me or am I going crazy?

Jason’s younger sister (pt.3: A Brother’s oath)
this one might be a little longer than the others
⚠️TW: blood, attempted kidnapping, drunkenness⚠️
Amelia ran as fast as she could, her little 3 year old legs pounding on the pavement as she darted in and out of alleys and doors, her breathing fast and ragged. She looked back over her shoulder, checking to see if he was still behind her. Seeing no one, she slowed her pace and hid behind a trash bin, trying to get her breathing under control. She heard footsteps in the entrance to the alley she was hiding in and held her breath, her heart pounding. Amelia listened as the footsteps came closer and closer, tucking herself further behind the trash cans. The steps stopped right in front of her spot, causing her to freeze. She put her hands over her mouth, trying to stay quiet. The trash can in front of her was ripped away and Jason appeared. “Found you!” Jason exclaimed, grinning widely at her. Amelia couldn’t hold in her laughter and burst into a fit of giggles. Jason held out his hand, pulling her to her feet. He squeezed her hand and they took off. “C’mon pixie-pop, we have to find the others!” “Okay, Jay-Jay!” She said, running after her 9 year old brother. Now, Crime Alley is known around Gotham for many things, but one of the lesser known is the fact that due to its many cracks and crevices, it is the ideal place for a massive game of hide and seek. And that is precisely what the children of Crime Alley were doing. About 50 street kids of all different ages were currently locked in this game, the older ones helping the younger kids hide. So far, about half of them had been found, making it much easier to find the rest. Once everyone had been found, they restarted the game with 10 seekers. Amelia was found faster than the last game, and so she joined the group of seekers and set out to find her brother and everyone else. She ran down the street, finding other kids and sending them in different directions. She turned a corner into an alleyway at full speed and crashed into a pedestrian. She looked up to see a man of about 30 years, a beer bottle in his hand. “Sorry sir!” She apologized, smiling brightly at him. He looked down at her, a drunk smile on his face. “I’salright sweetheart.” He said, his words slurred. Amelia grinned and turned around to keep looking, but the man grabbed her arm. “Where’d you think yer goin’, sweetheart?” He asked, pulling the 3 year old further into the empty alley. Amelia’s eyes widened as she began to struggle, trying to get away. The man’s grip on her tightened, his other hand pulling out a knife. “Now now sweetie, stop struggling and be a good little girl.” The man said, wrapping his arms around her and putting a hand over her mouth when she tried to scream. Amelia bit down on his finger hard, tasting blood as he cried out. The man dropped her, staring at his hand that was now missing a finger. The 3 year old spit the finger out, turning to run. “OH NO YOU DON’T!” The man growled, lunging at her. He grabbed Amelia’s ankle and pulled, sending her face down to the ground. *CRUNCH* Red blood poured down Amelia’s face from her now broken nose, staining her shirt. “HELP! SOMEBODY HELP! JASON HELP ME!” She screamed as the man dragged her to him.
“Amelia, where are you, are you oka-!” Jason and 2 other kids ran into the alley and saw the man trying to take her. “HEY! LET MY SISTER GO!” Jason screamed at the man. The man’s grip lessened in surprise, and Amelia managed to get away. She ran to Jason, sobbing in his arms. Jason zeroed in on her broken nose, his eyes narrowing. The 9 year old knelt to her level, holding her hands. “ Did that man do this to you?” He asked her softly, wiping away her tears. Amelia nodded. “He tried to take me, but I bit off his finger. Then he got mad and hurt me.” She told him, shaking. “Ok. I’m proud of you for fighting back. Now, go with them. I’ll be right back.” Jason nudged her toward the other 2 kids, telling them to meet him at the base. When they were out of sight, he turned to the man. Jason’s eyes glowed with rage as his body shook. “How dare you hurt her.” He said, advancing toward the man. The man laughed. “ Look at you! A little 9 year old kid playing hero.” The man grinned, waving around the knife in his hand. Jason ran at him and tackled him, punching and kicking the man. The man grunted and slashed at Jason’s face. Red hot pain exploded in him as blood gushed from the cut across his eye as Jason stumbled back. “ Now boy, you made me lose the girl. That pretty little thing was gonna make me a lot of money!” Jason felt white hot rage burn through him. The man was a trafficker. The man was going to sell Amelia. THE MAN WAS GOING TO SELL AMELIA. Jason’s vision went red as he let loose a gut wrenching scream of rage and charged at the man. The man stumbled back, dropping the knife. Jason grabbed the knife and jumped onto the man, plunging the knife into his chest. “HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY LITTLE SISTER YOU FUCKING PERVERT!! I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!” Jason screamed as he kept stabbing and stabbing the man. After a little while, Jason’s rage worked out of his system. He looked down at the man, dread filling him. The man was dead. Jason had stabbed him a little more than 50 times and he had bled out. Jason got off of the body and stumbled back. He reached up to his face and felt the long gash over his eye. He could still see, but it was going to leave a nasty scar. The 9 year old looked back at the man and felt nothing. Jason turned around and walked out of the alley, leaving the body behind. Let him be a message, Jason thought.
If anyone else dares to touch her sister, they will know: If you hurt Amelia Rose Todd, Jason Peter Todd will come after you. And you won’t live long enough to run.

Jason’s younger sister (pt.2: lullabies)
here’s part 2 of my au!! ( just a little song fic)
“WAAAAAAHH!!!” Jason was awoken once again by the wailing of little Amelia, scooping her up into his arms and trying to calm her. The 7 year old boy had no clue how his new little sister could be so loud because she was so small. But she had a huge set of lungs and would not. Stop. Crying. Jason rocked Amelia softly in his arms, wiping the tears off her cubby cheeks as he shushed her. He was so tired of her constant wails but he didn’t know what to do. He just continued to sway with the baby and hope she stops crying. Jason started humming softly, trying to pass the time as he waited for Amelia to quiet down. The baby’s crying stopped immediately as soon as she heard the quiet sounds and she began to giggle. Jason’s eyes widened and he smiled. “Oh! You like that, don’t you?” She began to fuss again, and Jason panicked. He racked his head trying to think of anything to sing to her. The only thing he could think of was a song he had heard a couple days ago, which he barely knew. Amelia’s crying pulled him out of his head and his panic calmed. Jason looked down at the little girl in his arms, took a deep breath, and started to sing. “Now hush little baby,
Don’t you cry,
Every things gonna be alright,”
He trailed off, looking at Amelia. She watched him, her big Greyish- blue/green eyes wide. She smiled at him, and he continued.
“Stiffen up that upper lip,
Little lady, I told ya,
Daddy’s here to hold ya through the night.”
Jason saw Amelia’s eyelids begin to droop, and kept going.
“I know momma’s not here right now,
And we don’t know why,
We feel how we feel inside,
It may seem a little crazy,
Pretty baby,
But I promise momma’s gonna be alright”
Amelia’s eyes dropped even further, her breathing steady. Jason kept singing, his voice soft and slow.
“And if you ask me to,
Daddy’s gonna by you a mockingbird,
I’ma give you the world,
I’ma buy a diamond ring for you,
I’ma sing for you,
I’ll do anything for you to see you smile.
And if that mockingbird don’t sing,
And the ring don’t shine,
I’ma break that birdies neck,
I’ll go back to the jeweler who sold it to ya,
And make him eat every karat,
don’t fuck with dad.”
And just like that, Amelia was out like a light. Jason smiled down at his little sister, rocking her slowly. He carried her back to the little pile of clothes and blankets that they used as a bed and laid down on it. He curled his body around the sleeping baby, his hand resting on her stomach. Jason watched baby Amelia sleep, his heart bursting with warmth. He drifted off to sleep, the love for he felt for little Amelia Todd like a fuzzy blanket, warming him from the inside out.

Jason’s younger sister (pt. 1: discovery)
here is the beginning of the story:
The rain pounded down on a 7 year old Jason Peter Todd as he darted between the dark alleys. He could hear the furious shouts of the men chasing him, getting closer and closer as he tried to outrun them. Oh how he wished he could go back to a few weeks ago, when he still had a home. When his mother was still alive and they were together. But who was he kidding, he would have to go back years for his mother to care. To go back to a time before she was hooked on the drugs that put her into a coma. He wanted to go back to her laughter, her smile. But 7 year olds can’t go back in time. When she died, he knew that there was no way he would let CPS get him, as the foster system in Gotham City is absolute shit. So he ran away. Jason had been doing ok on the streets, scavenging for food and sleeping in little, confined spaces that only he could fit in. That was one pro of being a scrawny 7year old. He was pulled out of his thoughts when he slipped on the slick concrete, landing squarely on his face. He released a string of words that he should not know, struggling to his feet. He looked around the alley he was in, panicking as there were no other exits except for where he came in. He heard the voices getting closer, the angry shouts rising in volume. Oh why did he have to steal the bread? He didn’t want to steal, but he was desperate. An old lady who had let him stay with her for a few days had run out of food and he had gotten the bread for her, so that she would eat. The old lady was very kind and she had taught him how to read. His eyes darted around the alley, searching desperately for a place to hide as the pounding of footsteps got closer. He wedged himself behind a dumpster, huddled behind boxes and bags of trash just as the 3 men stepped into the alley, carrying baseball bats. His heart was pounding so hard he was sure that they could hear that sucker through a brick wall. He held back a sob as they started searching.
“Where is that little shit?” One of them growled, smashing a box.
“I don’t see him, but he can’t be far.”Another spoke, placing a hand on the other’s shoulder. “When we find him, we’ll make him pay.” Jason let out a little whimper, then smacked his hands over his mouth, curling farther into his hiding spot. He prayed to what ever god existed that they hadn’t heard him, silent tears rolling down his face. He stifled a scream, eyes squeezed shut when one of the men spoke. Right on the other side of the trash pile.
“Hey, I think I heard something over here.” The third one said, poking the pile with his bat.
“Nah, there ain’t nothing over there. C’mon boys, he must’ve gone this way. Oh, I can’t wait to get my hands on that little brat.” Jason listened as the ponding footsteps of the men faded, trembling in his hole. He stayed tucked in his spot for what felt like eternity, calming his breathing and drying his tears. When he finally emerged from behind his trash can, the rain had long since stopped. Morning had come, and he could finally see his surroundings clearly. The alley was trashed, filled with boxes and bags of waste decomposing. He started forward, nudging boxes out of his way. He pushed a covered basket out to the side and froze when it whimpered. Jason stared down at the basket, convinced he was going crazy. Then he heard a baby crying, the sound ringing through the air. He crept forward, his eyes glued to the container as his curiosity got the better of him. He lifted the cover and gasped at what he saw. Inside the basket was a baby girl, her eyes squeezed shut as she cried out. Jason gently took one of her little hands in his, shushing her.
“Shhhhhh, it’s okay, it’s okay.” He rubbed her knuckles, her hand dwarfed by his.
She immediately calmed, her eyes opening. She stared at him, her big stormy blue eyes shining. She giggled at him, clutching his pointer finger in her chubby fist. Jason’s heart swelled, his smile returning. “ Hey there little one! My name’s Jason, and I’m 7! What are you doing out here?” He scoped her up in his arms, alarmed by how light she was. Jason didn’t know a lot about babies, but he was pretty sure they were supposed to be heavier. Movement caught his eye, and he turned to see a paper fluttering to the ground. He picked it up, careful to keep the baby tight to his chest. It was a note:
To whoever finds her,
Please take care of her. Both of her parents are dead, and she cannot go into the system. thank you.
The note ended with her birthday.
August 15th
“Hey, you were born one day before my birthday!” Jason exclaimed, looking down at the baby in his arms. She babbled at him, waving her arms around. “You are so cute! Why would anyone leave you alone?” He asked her.She smiled at him, and he thought about the note. Both of her parents are dead.
He started to walk, bouncing the baby in his arms.
“Y’know what, I’m gonna be your brother.” He declared. He looked down at the baby, realizing that she had fallen asleep. He smiled, holding her tightly. “ Now, what to name you?” Jason looked around, his eyes catching on a poster. “How about Amelia?”He said. He looked at his new little sister again, watching the fluttering of her eyelashes against her chubby cheeks as she slept. He chuckled softly. “I’ll name you Amelia Rose Todd. I’m going to protect you and I will never abandon you. As your big brother, I will teach you everything you need to know.” Amelia nuzzled into his chest, letting out a little sigh. Jason kissed he forehead, rocking her in his arms. “ I’m going to love you forever.” He whispered in her ear, his chest warm.
Jason Peter Todd didn’t know much at 7 years old, but he knew one thing for a fact. He was never going to let anything happen to Amelia Rose Todd.
To his little sister.
