Girl with a Pearl Earring  by dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.  Who is this mystery girl? Some historians believe that it may have been Vermeer’s daughter, Maria. She too was known to be a talented artist, and believed to have painted 20% of Vermeer’s paintings.  And what is any good artist inspired by? Pizza. This painting showcases the intimacy between the subject and the pizza, while she gazes longingly for the bottle of ranch on the table, across the room.

Oh, Jeff... I love you, too... But...  Roy Lichtenstein, 1964.
One of the founders of the Pop Art movement in the 1960's, he elevated cartoons and advertisements, with their word balloons and Ben Day dots, to the realm of high art. "Oh, Jeff..." is known as Lichtenstein's "Mona Lisa."
A forlorn gaze off into the distance. There is a mystery about the relationship of our pop girl and Jeff. But there is one thing we do know, Jeff is not satisfying the subject. At least not the way pizza can.

Not sure who did this drawing.
in classic mythology cupid  is known as the god of love and desire. He was born to Venus, the goddess of love. In this depiction it appears that Venus is giving her son a slice of pizza.  It looks like bees like pizza too.

Frida Kahlo- Self Portrait with Necklace of Thorns, 1940.
Frida painted this after a divorce from artist Diego Rivera. The painting entails a lot of symbolism that pertains to her personal life.  The monkey symbolizes the devil, which was a gift from diego. The cat symbolizes bad luck.  The pizza symbolizes crying her sorrows into an empty pizza box, which was the only comfort that she had.

We'll try and post as much content as possible and eventually take submissions (hopefully)! Sometimes we might have a hard time remembering who our painters are, like this piece. I promise we will get our shit together!
