“Data from NASA shows declining ozone concentrations over time. Since the Montreal protocol went into effect in 1989, ozone levels have stabilized.”
The public should be reminded that the outcries over the ozone layer and acid rain, both of which happened in living memory, were not incorrect. In reality they led to concrete policy changes, which were effective. For example the depleted ozone layer was stabilized (shown above). Important point: not fixed, but stabilized. Ironically instances like these are now used to cast doubt on the concern over rising atmospheric CO2 levels (a.k.a. “climate change”). The incorrect storyline used for this purpose is like this: scientists are hysterical and their fear mongering about the ozone layer was crazy because look we’re fine. But the reason we’re fine is because action was taken.
Using carbon-neutral energy sources is a far more difficult problem than changing the worldwide standard refrigerant chemicals. It requires a concerted effort of young people spending their careers building a knowledge base, identifying possible solutions, and seeing them through.

Generally in life, and especially in the metro, everything was unclear, changing and relative. […] then just what could be said about other indisputable views of life? […] there were no differences in any of it. […] Any faith served man only as a crutch supporting him. [...] He understood why man needs this support. Without it, life would have become empty, like an abandoned tunnel. […] But for him, repudiation of the Observers, the Snake and other metro gods made life easier. Did that mean that he was stronger than the others? Artyom understood that was not true. The cane was in his hands, and he was supposed to become brave enough to recognize it.
