Pokemon X and Y Serial Code Events
Keep in mind that many of these are exclusive to Japan.
Mystery Gifts are awesome. As of Pokemon X and Y, a new form of Gift was introduced-code gifts. Many of these require, well, codes.
Quick Ball
The first one is the Quick Ball Event. On October 12, 2013, Japan and England gave out the serial code to win 12 Quick Balls. In Japan, the code was exclusive to games bought at Pokemon Centers, a specialist store just for Pokemon merchandise and goods. In the UK, marked copies of X and Y bought at Tesco could be redeemed for the code.
CoroCoro Garchomp
The next event (which is exclusive to Japan, like I said) gives away a male Garchomp with the moves Dig, Draco Meteor, Crunch, and Dragon Claw. It is a level 48 and has the ability Sand Veil.In the CoroCoro magazine issue that was released on November 15, 2013, a special code was put in each individual magazine. The download will only be redeemable until August 29, 2014.
Movie Darkrai
The last event I will be talking about today is the Movie Darkrai. This is currently going on with it being accessible fromApril 18 to September 30, 2014. When you book a ticket to the movie Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie (In advance), you will be eligable to download Darkrai. This is distributed by a serial code on the ticket. It knows the special move Phantom Force and holds an Enigma Berry, a berry that restores a Pokemon's HP when it is hit by a foe's super effective attack.

How to Properly use a Hawlucha
Hawlucha. A luchador bird. What could go wrong? The fact that it has 4 weaknesses. Fighting/ Flying? That was never a good idea... But anyways, you can still use it, regardless of its looks and weaknesses.
You don't really need its hidden ability to shred the battlefield. Its hidden ability would be Mold Breaker, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't shared with LITERALLY 19 OTHER POKEMON. Also, it just ensures that your Pokemon's move works even if the opposing Pokemon's ability prevents that. Its other abilities, Limber (Pokemon can never be paralyzed) and Unburden (Sped doubles when item is consumed) are good enough.
This beast learns Sky Attack at level 48, a Flying type move with a base power of a whopping 130. But wait, there's more! At level 44, Hawlucha learns Jump Kick, a Fighting move with roughly ten more base power points than Sky Attack. There is one setback to the latter move however, because if Jump Kick misses, your Pokemon gets hurt instead.
Hawlucha also has some pretty decent stats that can be perfected with Super Training. Here is a list of its base stats.
HP-78
Attack-92
Defense-75
Sp. Attack- 74
Sp. Defense- 63
Speed- 118
Speed seems to be its strong suit, with Attack coming close behind. The only thing that needs to be worked on is Special Defence, which is down by ten points compared to many of the other stats.
So in all, I give Hawlucha the rating of...
Somewhat useable until level 40.

How to Properly use a Dedenne
Dedenne is the Pikachu of Generation VI (not including the fact that it doesn't evolve), as they are both common electric mouse Pokemon. Dedenne has an extra Fairy type added on as well. Dedenne is a good example of the Pokemon that you have no idea why you caught it so you just shove it away or put it on Wonder Trade. Believe it or not, this wimpy mouse actually has a decent moveset.
Its common ability, Cheek Pouch, makes it gain HP whenever it eats a berry, even if it isn't supposed to. If you have enough berries, Natural Gift can be a good move, but Dedenne can only get it by breeding with a few Pokemon in the Field and Fairy Egg Group. For a full list, click this link: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/egg/702.shtml#naturalgift
It doesn't learn very many moves on its own, however. When hatched, it starts out with Tackle and Tail Whip, two very common moves for Level 1 Pokemon. Level it up, however, and this little guy can learn powerful moves such as Thunder, Discharge, and Play Rough, a new Fairy move that causes 90 base damage and can also lower your opponent's Attack stat. It also learns a wicked move called Parabolic Charge at a measly Level 17. The move can be perfected with constant IV and EV training.

How to Properly use a Smeargle
Many people underestimate the true power of a Smeargle. It can learn practically any move and at every ten levels, seeing as it learns Sketch at those times. Since it is a Normal Pokemon (which certainly helps its reputation), it is still weak to Fighting and immune only to Ghost. This makes it a lot harder to use since Generation V introduces many common Fighting Pokemon. Since Smeargle can learn nearly any move, it is very versatile, yet it can be hard to teach it the move you want it to learn.
One method is what I call the Trubbish method, because it involves a lot of wasting. Find a Pokemon that knows the move that you want to teach Smeargle. Then, find ways to completely waste your Smeargle's move, like using X- Sp. Attacks or healing without reason. Once the desired move is used by your opposing Pokemon, (Smeargle must be faster than opposition) use Sketch. This will copy the move and you can then run away.
Another method is the Tall Grass method. Your Pokemon doesn't have to be faster than its opposition for this method. First, find an area where you can get a Smeargle. Next, snag a Pokemon with the desired moveset that you wish to implement onto the Smeargle (make sure Smeargle can't faint). Get into battle with one and use the desired move. The Smeargle has no choice but to copy the move on either the first or second turn, depending on your speed. Then, simply catch the Smeargle with an Ultra Ball or Quick Ball to get it over with.
