After the Centaurs beat the Voyageurs in the playoffs, Shane is condemned to sit at home and watch Ilya compete for the Stanley Cup. He’s proud of Ilya, but he also still feels bitter about the loss. After Alec cannot help but voice his less than stellar opinion about Jace in a press conference, things get heated – on and off the ice.

The sound of a lung constricting, when the air was being pushed out until the opponent gasped or grunted when you checked him into the boards was one of the most satisfying sounds in the world. It was better than the crunch of fresh ice when your skate hit it for the first time. It might be even better than the sound of sex, the breathy moans Alec was never sure were real. This was real, and it was music to his ears.

Only when he realizes who exactly JJ is going to choose, he changes his mind and claims his rights - and his prize.

Shane wasn’t a fan of the winner’s room and all it stood for. He hadn’t been picked again, thank god, first his rookie status then his clean, Canadian boy image protecting him. In a corner of his brain Shane believed that he might play even better if the doom of what was to come when he was selected first star weren’t there. He didn’t go to this corner often, not daring to examine what this said about him too closely. Most players thrived on the prospect to get their hands on the enemy for a few minutes or more.

Fandom: Game Changers Series - Heated Rivalry Pairing: Hollanov Rating: E Tags: Winner's room AU, bjs, mild angst, mildly dubious consent Summary: Shane is not too worried about being picked as forfeit for the winner’s room after losing against the Boston Bears. Rookies are off limits, at least that’s what the unwritten rules dictate. But then, when has Ilya Rozanov ever played by the rules? Shane hated losing, almost as much as he loved winning. It should be the same level Shane thought, but somehow it wasn’t. There was a thing in between where you hadn’t won but also hadn’t completely lost, a middle ground. This felt a bit like it. He had lost his first game against Rozanov, but he had won their first face off, and this was something no one could ever take away from him. The incredulous look washing over Rozanov’s face the moment he realized that he had lost, and the puck was Shane’s was something Shane would keep dear. It definitely sweetened the sting of the loss.

I have plotted this fic already and wrote some scenes, so the likelihood that I will finish it sometime is rather high, I'm not a fan of wips 😂

Title: Something like this Summary (for now):

When Alex and Yassen have to relocate in the middle of the night yet again, Alex decides that he can’t live like this any longer. He breaks up with Yassen to have the normal, uneventful life of a university student. He slowly realises that he might not be as suitable for this kind of life as he thought he would be, and that he misses Yassen more than he ever missed being normal.

Authors on the other hand shouldn't expect former readers to care when they update a fic after a hiatus. I guess there are readers out there who are still excited about the fic, but there are also tons like me who are not interested any longer. And I do not appreciate being followed into my own works and get comments like: "I updated the thing, read and comment!"

When a fic is not updated in months I inevitably lose interest in it, and chasing after me won't change that fact. Like the reader chasing the author for updates won't change the hiatus.

Yeah, seriously. I may not even be in the fandom by the time they finish. And that's fine! Some other new reader will care. Just don't expect the same ones to come back.
