How russian propaganda works:
Tumblr media
Transaltion (not the greatest): On the web appeared videos from the last attack on the National Police Administration Building in Kharkov.
What actually was the building:
Tumblr media
The fucking Finance/Economi faculty of the Ukraine University.
Tumblr media
Translation(also bad): The was an attack on the center of Kharkov, the building of the University is on fire.

So Lukashenko showed us the map... and Moldova is right on there with its own little arrow.
I knew this was going to happen. I've mentioned in posts that Ukraine is the last line of defense for Moldova. But, seeing that map is not proving that Moldova is next, it's proving that Moldova is a package deal for them.
My sister called about 3 hours ago, panicked because she wants to get her boyfriend out of Moldova. He's just the right age for conscription. We all know that if it gets to it, Moldova won't fight, it's pointless. Ukraine has patriots, it has people with training because of the constant russian conflicts. It has people. Moldova is too fucking small, it has too many problems, too many people disappointed, and just plain tired of fighting for their countries to face a force like russia. Moldova also has the 14th russian army on its territory. There really isn't a point in fighting.
My parents want me and my sister to go to Italy, to my aunt. I know I have to leave because I'm enrolled in a Romanian University, which wants to start IRL lessons.
I don't want to leave.
Here's the thing, I'm not afraid of death. I've been suicidal for, what? 8 years? If I have the opportunity to go down while fighting, I want to take it. I will give up my life if it means protecting my family.
I don't know what to do. I really, truly don't know. I've never feel so uterly useless and hopeles at the same time.

You know, I think I finally get how russia makes people outside of russia, where they control everything, believe that Ukrainians are Nazis.
Do you know how? They exploit the fact that people can't make a difference between being a nationalist and being a nazi.
Oh, nazis were nationalists, which means that every nationalist is a nazi. NO.
I'm a nationalist. I love my country. I want my country to prosper above all else. I believe that my country should put its citizens' lives above other countries' interests.
If my country did something horrible does this mean that I'm going to ignore it and continue saying how great my country is? Also fucking NO.
I get angry and feel ashamed when my people do something stupid. I also feel proud when I see them succeed. And when I say my people, I don't mean just pureblooded Moldavians. I mean ukrainians that live here, I mean Romani/gypsy people no matter what they want to be called, I mean the jewish people that choose to remain here even when all left for Israel, I mean russians who lived their entire lives here and love this country as much as I do. (There are a lot of nationalities here, I'm not going to name them all, but I do consider them moldovans no matter what.)
Am I a nazi for loving and wanting what's best for my Moldova?
Zelinsky and his party aren't different from me and seeing as I didn't particularly like him as a president of Ukraine because he did a lot of mistakes, this whole conflict proved just how much he truly loves his country.

aOk, so here's a "hot take"(??)/crack theory on the first day of the russian invasion.
Starting off with some facts on which I'm basing this entire thing.
Transnistria is a "separatist territory" fabricated by russians, so consider this a Luhansk or Crimea of Moldova.
From what I remember in Transnistria in 2011 there was a very legal, very not rigged referendum where 97% of the Transnistrian population voted for independence and becoming a part of the Russian Federation.
In Transnistria is still stationed the 14th army from the Soviet period, but everyone just considers it a russian army, which also had some "military exercises" on the same days the invasion started.
In the days before the invasion, I have seen an article where a leader of the separatist region stated that "We aren't planning a double attack on Ukraine with Russia", which is not only suspicious but far too specific considering I haven't even heard rumors of something like that.
in the morning of 24 February 2022, many regions in Moldova heard the sounds of bombing in the distance. It was loud enough for me to wake up at 6:20 something, and I'm in Telenesti. I'll put a map here so you can see the distance. (consider Balti as a !me point, even though it's like 50 km from telenesti.)
Tumblr media
Most of us assumed that, since we clearly heard what we heard, some even reported that the sounds wave threw open a balcony door
But later in the day, the Ministers of Defence and Internal Affairs declared that "transnistria didn't bomb ukraine"
Ok so here's the discourse part:
It's impossible that on the first day so many of us reported hearing bombing in the distance that morning and then everything died down when the bombings from Russia clearly continued, some clearly closer to Moldova (Vinnytsya, from what I'm guessing). What if Transnistria did bomb Ukraine, but got the "stop and shut up, don't make this a Balkan war" order? Or even Putin's plan was for that initial hard bombing from all places where Transnistria's involvement was necessary?
Or, you know, it could actually have been the training of the Russian army in Transnistria where they just had a class on how to bomb 101.
This btw, is just rambling on my part, don't take anything from the "discourse" part seriously. The facts are facts, but the crack theory is a crack theory that should be treated accordingly.
(not gonna tag it as ukraine because god does this tag need some rest from the discourse)

Honestly, I should just change my blog name from Polyanom to "A complete slut for Ukrainian soldiers/people", because at this point? They could step on me and I'd thank them. It's not a joke, it's the complete truth.

I took some time to rake through the entire evidence there is for the whole "racism at ukraine borders and Ukraine train stations".
But first, some facts are in order:
India, from the very beginning of the russian assault on Ukraine has avoided supporting ukraine, choosing to be neutral in the lights of Putin's actions. India also has a great Military relationship with Russia, here we have a motive for pro-russian racism propaganda that works beautifully with the "neo-nazi" propaganda that Putin has been pushing for a while.
Nigerian president told the Nigerian students to "help themselves" and Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama said in a video released on Twitter that once airports reopened his government would assist with the evacuation of people who wanted to leave.
Moving on to what is happening now:
Videos and statements of Nigerian students having trouble leaving Ukraine are popping up. Most videos are short and without any context. Here are the logical explanations that you should know before crying out "injustice" and helping out russians with your posts:
https://mobile.twitter.com/cyberelster/status/1497783319257399301?s=21
Tumblr media
Here's an article on the full story of the african students, that also mentions racism at the borderer. I'm still skeptical this isn't a measure put in place because of the diference in documents needed and lack of comunication between embassies and borderpatrol.

Tumblr media
https://mobile.twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497855625044365314
As for the videos from the border, multpiple people suggested that those videos could be taken from the belarus border crisis a few months ago. This is not fact checked, just a posibility that has to be taken into consideration.
Moving on to India: https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/stopped-assaulted-at-ukraine-border-say-some-indian-students-2793334
multiple articles like this have been posted by indian networks and shared by accounts that have a history of russian propaganda posts about nazi Ukrainians and so on.
Another reason why I would highly doubt that article is because there are multiple videos of the border checkpoints made by volunteers, where nothing of the sort is happening, and things like this can't exactly be hidden because of the way those checkpoints are arranged.
That's it on this until I have more information. Stay vigilant, don't believe everything you see on the internet without checking.

Just some thoughts on the last news from russia.
So, Adolf Putin decided to put nuclear arms on high alert. Not shocking, but it does raise a question that I'm kinda afraid to answer.
You know the ones that are constantly saying that "if the russians weren't provoked nothing would have happened" and "It's NATO's expansion that caused this war" or even "NATO and other countries should have armed the Ukrainians, we should leave them to deal with Russia themselves"?
Would those people also say, in the case of Russia actually using a nuclear bomb (if they have one, tbh I'm not even sure that they aren't bluffing with this) that Ukrainians are the ones to blame for the deployment of it?
Think about it, those people are the ones thinking that we should appease russians, we should do whatever they want just to avoid war and armed conflict. So I wouldn't be surprised that in case Russians do deploy the atomic bomb, those people would consider it Ukraine's fault because they continued to fight russians. Because they should have predicted this outcome and taken one for the team.
There aren't a lot of russian appeasers right now, and it's a stretch to think that those bastards would use an atomic weapon, but we also thought (and hoped) that it's not that probable that russians would attack (even though we knew better, I've been literally explaining to romanians why Putin will attack just 4 days before the invasion)... But it is something we should consider... honestly, just the thought of a smaller possibility of shifting the blame from russia to Ukraine makes me sick
So the point? I... really don't know? make whatever you want out of this

You know, I was thinking why didn't the "Ukrain is neo-nazi" people replay to my answers?
Tumblr media
(btw, my answer to "step on a landmine" was "I will, when I fight for Moldova's freedom from Russia if Ukrainian soldiers fall")
Guess why there weren't any more replies?
Tumblr media
THE POST WAS DELETED, I'm literally crying from laughter right now

I didn't want to make this post, but you know what? I'm fucking tired of seeing people post "not all russians want war". Because guess what? I. Don't. Care. Do you think I mean all russians when I say "fuck russians, I hope they get what they give"? or "I hope russians get to feel the same pain Ukrainians feel"? No.
But here's the thing, if you know you aren't the one wanting war, you know that you aren't the one that allowed this to happen, why do you feel affected by those statements? Because if you feel guilty, that's on you. It's your conscience that works the right way. You should feel guilty. It's your nation. It's your compatriots. You lived your entire lives near the same people that now write "I hope Ukrainians burn", or "kill the Ukrainian pigs" (and that's the most censored ones I remember). Most of you didn't correct them. Most of you didn't give a fuck about those because you thought it would lead to nothing. It always leads to something. To violence.
So yeah, feel guilty. It's the right thing to feel. Don't try to clear your conscience by writing "we didn't want war". It doesn't change the lives that were lost.

I'm watching videos from the ukrainian lines, and let me tell I've never been more proud that I was named after an ukrainian woman and that my family considers her family just as important as (if not more than some) blood relatives. (Can I be ukrainian by christening? I'm not joking btw)
But this also reminds me that if or when russia invades Moldova, I'll be just as disappointed in moldavian citizens as I am proud right now of Ukrainians.
So yeah, conclusion, Слава Україні! I know this is like speaking to the void, but I am thankful for your sacrifices, for your bravery, because you are the ones standing between Putin and the rest of us. You are the heroes that this world needs, but doesn't deserve.

For the Ukrainians who want to take refuge in Moldova:
- This Facebook group has constant offers and updates on how to get from the border to other cities, places to stay, and legal procedures if there is a need for them. To cross the border you need only an ID in order to be identified.
There are offers there for psychological help, translators, and anything really, most ready to help you with even organizing a way to reach Romania and an airport there if you have relatives in other countries.
- This is an official telegram channel created by the gov. to keep people updated. Important posts for Ukrainian refugees are written directly in Ukrainian, others have multiple translations, including russian and english.
If you need help and for whatever reason can't use those two links, you can reach out directly to me, and I'll do whatever I can to help you, including redirecting you to other people/organizations/shelters.
I'm located in Telenesti and can help people be relocated in this district as I have contacts with multiple mayors. Please be careful and don't be afraid to reach out.

So you know how everyone posts about not making memes out of the Russian Invasion? Yeah, well I live in Moldova, it's literally bordering Ukraine, we have a "separatist" region just as they have, controlled and generated artificially by russians. I'm currently enrolled in a Romanian University, which is also not far from Ukraine, they also have borders with that country. They also suffered from a soviet regime.
So you would expect that there would not be war memes, right? WRONG.
Students post jokes about "should I study for the summer exams if there is a wwIII?", "when you're a geography student and the borders already change", putting manele (a genre of mostly happy romanian music about money, women, and power) other soldiers and videos from attacks.
I'm enraged and I'm halfway to posting a very angsty text with videos from Ukraine on the group to make people understand. The only reason I haven't done this is because there have been only a few posts like these

I've had a few drafts about the Russian invasion that I've never planned on posting because I'm not Ukrainian, and besides what Russia did to my country I won't understand the way Ukrainians feel.
But this morning things changed. I woke up to the sound of bombs and rockets launching from the separatist region of Moldova, maybe a 100 km distance from my home. The place that Russians occupied nearly the same way as they did with Crimea, just earlier.
The russian troops that have been stationed there since the 90s and the russian colonists started a two-way attack on Ukraine with Russia. (while there are people with russian roots in Moldova which I would not consider colonists, there is no another word for this, trust me)
I'm crying while listening to my parents plan what to do next. Gas reserves, flour, an electricity generator for when the lines will be down. Sending me away to my relatives in Italy.
Ukraine is under attack, people die and I still hear and read some say "yeah, get em Putin". I see romanians defending him, saying that they should just come and kill their government. Romanians planning to flee the country the moment Russia points to Moldova.
We're literally defenseless as a country, depending on Romania and Nasa, and if Ukraine is being obliterated with its citizens wanting to fight for its independence, I don't want to know what will happen in russian troops get to MD.
Is there a point to all of this I'm writing? probably no, I just need to get things off of my chest and say that if you support Putin, if you say Ukraine deserves what comes, that Putin is right in this situation, as he enacts his plans as a Hitler wannabe, then take responsibility for what comes next, for all the lives lost, for the genocides that Putin will enact, for the countries that will disappear off of the world map.

The objectively worst thing about Moldavian Politics
No, it’s not corruption. I know it’s a big problem and everyone is always ready to point it but in the last few months we had a first row view of the actual reason this country is failing: arrogance.
Politicians and arrogance go hand in hand, however this generation just brought this all to a new level. We have an ex-president who can’t let go of his post, a wannabe prime-minister/mayor/president/minister/..., a whole party of “everyone is bad except us”, a mayor who is doesn’t even live in Moldova because of his criminal record and who publicly stated he stole the billion, a whole 50+ pms that are... there and a president who cannot let go of their political ambitions. It wouldn’t be anything new if, you know, there wasn’t A LITERAL PANDEMIC GOING ON, or maybe this county’s medical system wouldn’t be  AT THE BRINK OF A COLAPSE. But, I guess, it is what it is.
