When Violet Bright and Buttercup Shine were born, Applejack was so excited, so ready, to be a mother. Rarity and her had produced two perfect little foals, twin sisters, that Applejack was ready to raise with her wife.

And if you had asked Applejack in the beginning if she had found parenthood challenging, the answer would have been "Heck no! It has come as naturally to me as buckin' apples!".

But then her precious little foals started growing up.

And Violet Bright started rebelling. She ignored curfews, she swore, she slacked with her chores, she skipped classes, dyed her mane, pierced her ears, did nearly every thing she could to rile up her parents - Applejack specifically.

Violet had her reasons - School was rough and she felt as if everyone preferred Buttercup over her. Violet felt that Applejack definitely favoured Buttercup over her and it was the subject of many fights.

Violet had convinced herself Applejack didn't care about her - Applejack's heart was shattered when she hear the words from her foal.

They could feel the weight of everything on their eyelids, and they wanted so desperately to curl up in their sister's bedsheets and sleep for as long as possible. The midnight symphony was interrupted by a sudden noise, the unmistakable sound of teleportation magic. Luna knew who it was before the figure even spoke. Discord frowned, "Hm yes," He vanished then reappeared beside Luna within a second, "But it would be much more exciting if it was!" He laughed, clapping his mismatched claw and paw together. The Chaos Demon huffed, but there was a slight crack in his voice. Luna's expression softened. "I know. I miss her too." They spoke softly, eyes now staring up at the stars. Discord's ears flattened for a moment, as he sat himself down beside the Princess of the Night. "...I do not know what you're insinuating." He whispered back, gazing at the stars with them.
