The Underworld River—Styx

Titaness of the river of the Underworld, Styx has one of my favorite designs from Lore Olympus. I decided to draw her for an art challenge. I gave her a “dancer’s” pose to go with her water element.

“I don’t like to delete old texts because I feel like I’m deleting our history together…” -Leuce

Because my headcanon is that the text messages that Leuce had were real and we were all robbed of seeing true character development of Hades and Persephone in reflection of that potential conflict. Leuce uses the job interview as a way to get close to Hades to confront him about what he said to her years ago and is more interested in closure instead of reigniting a glinting flame.

Tried to mimic the art style of the creator, Rachel Smythe. Being a cousin of Thetis and Amphitrite in LO, I wanted her to look more like an oceanid instead of like a "flower nymph". And keeping with what happens to her in the greek mythology, I added some poplar tree accents to her outfit for some foreshadowing.

More of my Leuce redesign for a Lore Olympus project I'm working on. Still keeping with the axolotl features for her and made her live up to that "most-sought-out-for" nymph look that Zeus spoke so highly about.

It has certainly been a while and I plan on finishing a few projects that have been put off as I become more settled in the flow of the Army.

As I slowly get back into things, I decided to brush the dust off my tablet and draw something! I have been a fan of Lore Olympus for years but its last season has had a few issues that have already been beaten to death by so many others so I'm not going to bring that up in this post.

What I will mention is that the introduction of Leuce in the story was definitely not the direction I think it should have went. Her design was also not unique in my opinion. I have seen a few artists redesign her with axolotl features--which I think is so perfect--so I've decided I will do the same. I also drew Persephone's hair in a messy bun as opposed to it flowing down in part that I think it looks nicer this way after her long day and also that it just wouldn't cooperate when I was trying to draw it ^^;

I am considering a bigger project with this scene so stay tuned!

The last three months have felt like they would never end but I finally finished my Army Basic Combat Training on February 26th. As I wait to head to AIT, I have a bit more time to focus on art and writing again. So for the end of our cycle, a few of us trainees were given the opportunity to repaint the killzone in our platoon bay!

The idea is a variation of our platoon gear, which was also designed by me! Our platoon started out as an all-female platoon and our name was “Cobra Kai” so we went with a badass Medusa meets karate mash up for the final design. We also say it is inspired by our Senior Drill Sergeants, who is so strong and feared that she turns the trainees to stone when they look at her lol

I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of what the killzone looked like when we first arrived in November because it... wasn’t the best looking lol

This was also the first time I ever painted “professionally” and I’m so proud we were able to leave something for all the future trainees!

Day 16 & 17- Love Sentence and Rare Pair

Both Jackie and Tom have some similar interests and personality traits, would’ve been nice to see them interact in the show. They’d definitely enjoy themselves at a Love Sentence concert!

Day 12- Raising The Dead

Technically, the Magic High Commission is “dead” since they were wiped from existence with the destruction of magic. So in an alternate universe somewhere, maybe Tom has the ability to raise them from the dead somehow!

Let’s redo the Blood Moon Ball, but this time Tom actually has fun with his demon friends! :D

Day 10- Character Swap

The return of these two swapping characters. Last year, for the Tomtober  “Opposite Personality” prompt, I came up with Tom being the karate-loving safe kid and Marco was the more “bad-boy” type. I really liked this idea lol.

Day 9- The Underworld

Going to try and do the best I can with catching up on the days I missed. In my fanfic, Tom Vs. The Underworld, he explores many parts of the Underworld he hasn’t been able to see and even makes new demon friends. The demon city, Chernabog City, lies in the Prickly Plains of the Underworld and is very crowded from its people to its buildings stacking over each other.

Season 1 of “Drawing Followers As... Iconic Horror Movie Characters!”

I spent some time finishing a drawing challenge series I started back in September on my TikTok known as “Drawing My Followers As... Iconic Horror Movie Characters”. Before I post all the pictures I did to this page, I wanted to give a little insight and my experience doing something like this for the first time.

About The Challenge: As soon as September hit, I was already in full “Spooky Season” Mode (our house was decorated for Halloween by September 2nd ^^;) and I wanted to continue that same spirit art-wise. I knew Drawlloween, Inktober, and Tomtober would all start in October but I was ready to create something NOW. So, since I love horror movies, I decided to draw horror movie characters, but with a twist! I randomly selected a few followers on my TikTok  to draw and share the results in some videos. It was really fun trying new styles and drawing different characteristics of people--I even pushed myself to draw things I’ve always been hesitant about (glasses, fingers, etc.). And then, for some cosmic reason, the “Algorithm Gods” decided to make Part 4 go viral and the overwhelming amount of notifications I received after that was mind-blowing! I never imagined it would gain so much attention, or have as many parts as it did, but seeing how a lot of people enjoyed my series, I decided to keep going and drew more than I ever have in a month!

Limitations of The Challenge: I decided to set some limits as far as this challenge for myself. I decided not to do characters with masks (Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Leatherface, etc.) due to the fact that I wanted to showcase the facial features of the people I drew. I also mashed my art up with the original video of the follower’s TikTok I used as reference, so if I were to select someone they would need to have a clear view of their face in their video content on their account. 

My Experience From The Challenge: 

Positive What I learned from doing this series was that a lot of people actually liked my art. I use to be hesitant about posting but I am slowly overcoming that. I am still learning. It was also really fun to share my love of Horror Movies with others!

Negative I never understood what other artists would mention about others requesting they draw them for free, until I started this series... The fact that so many people commented “Do me”, “Draw me next”, “Where’s mine?”, repeatedly was very disheartening. I never said I WILL draw every single person that follows me, I never even asked anyone to follow me when I posted this series. But for quite a bit to expect me to draw them just for following me and spam-liking every single video was ridiculous. There was a point where I didn’t even bother looking at comments anymore on my videos because they were all the same statements flooding the whole section. Others would be so rude to start posting “Day xx of asking” or “I’m unfollowing because you didn’t do me” and I just was left SMH over such inconsideration of my time and effort put into something I love. This was intended to be fun and to display something unique to me, but seeing how unappreciative and demanding people can be really made me feel a bit taken aback to continue this series. 

Luckily I did finish it and I plan to do a “Season 2″ eventually!

What’s Next?: I am going to do another series of “Drawing Followers As...” soon, but right now I want to catch up on Tomtober and do some Drawlloween prompts now that I have time. Spooky Season isn’t over yet after all!

Day 8- Redesign

Dave and Wrath Fusion?! That’s kind of how it came out ^^;

I redesigned as a cross between his Mom and Dad. I imagine he would also be tall and muscular like his Mom, but not too tall.
