Additionally, what are your thoughts on April’s father? Do you think he’s still in the picture? Perhaps he travels for work, or maybe he has a career with demanding hours.

Personally I’m not sure what head cannon i subscribe to yet and April’s parents are never explored other then the one background cameo.

I do think Carol being a doctor, ER nurse, nurse practitioner or a paediatrician would be fascinating in any apocalypse timeline AUs especially because it would allow Carol to be a prominent noncombatant member of the resistance.

Additionally I do quite adore the comics where Carol is sweet on the turtles and cares for them like sons but of course that is all fanon as i believe in the dinosaur trampoline episode (can’t remember the episode name) Splinter said something about being under the impression of getting to finally meet April’s parents (I could be mistaken) implying April has kept her family in the dark as to the true nature of the turtles and Splinter. One would hope her parents would be able to accept them but considering April hasn’t told them about the turtles and Splinter it may indicate April’s not exactly fully convinced her parents would or could accept her friends as they are. Or possibly one of her parents works in some career that would obligate them to report or investigate the mutants…

Ramainder of Me Au Information-

Poison Yokai-

Oleander is a poison yokai, a member of a hated group of Yokai. Poison Yokai are hated and feared by yōkai society seen as “dangerous” and “volatile”. Poison Yokai are abandoned at birth to the poison temple (if not killed upon birth by their parents or others) to avoid the stigma of having “poison blood” in their bloodline. The poison temple exists on the outskirts of the hidden city up along one of the cavern walls and removed from the general population in the hidden city and functions much like a non religious monastery.

(To me this means no family, single person small rooms, a courtyard out front surrounded by stone walls, a inner sanctum where the three poison elders learn, train and teach the younger ones how to control their abilities and not hurt themselves or others, a large library, a communal kitchen etc. I obviously know nothing about monks or monasteries but it’s the best way I can think of to describe the look and feel of the temple.)

The poison temple is funded by hidden city taxes. The temple has a garden and fruit trees and all clothing is secondhand donated. In the temple once a child can fend for themselves (note this is a very bad standard in the temple itself as no one knows how to care for children sufficiently and they don’t have the means to learn about or get assistance leading the members to stop caring for children between the ages of 2 to 6 years old- the exception being older members will make food or wash children’s clothing or clean them but provide no emotional or educational support. The elders do make sure children can read and speak on a base level though) they are left to their own devices. The poison Yokai that live in the monastery do not foster friendships or relationships, they rarely even talk to each other unless they need something. All the current poison Yokai are orphans raised by other orphans. There are about 49 Posion Yokai left and all reside in the temple. Poison Yokai are not permitted to leave the temple unless deemed “safe” by the high council of Yokai and given the permission to leave temple grounds and the sigil that marks them as “safe” to be amongst the general population (though poison Yokai that are allowed to leave find they are unemployable and are refused housing elsewhere leaving them with little choice put to live in the temple) , this sigil is a mystic mark that looks like the symbol of the poison Yokai/temple being a triangle with a toxic flower emblem inside it.

But even with the sigil that marks them as safe any poison yokai outside of the temple is likely to experience extreme discrimination, often not allowed to enter businesses, denied service and sometimes even threatened or attacked by other Yokai out of fear and bigotry towards them.

The hidden yokai restaurant on the surface “Run Of The Mill” run by the serious Spanish Skeleton yokai “Señor Hueso” is one of the few places to not discriminate against poison yokai, thus why Oleander quite loves the place.

Hell hath no fury... like a little sibling snubbed by their older sibling(s) Tiny Turtle Tot Mikey is about to show his his big brothers just how capable of playing snowball fight he is! how dare they leave him out due to being "too little"! (And yes. those are rocks in his snowball... clean snow is hard to come by in the sewers you know! XD)

RiseCember Day 3 - Holiday Mischief

Draxum came home to find all his normal clothes missing and his house covered in festive Wrapping paper. don't worry the boys cleaned it up! eventually...

RiseCember Day 2- Hot cocoa!

Had a long day so we're doing a cute snapshot~

Mikey made Hot cocoa for the whole family, everyone's favorites of course! Raph- (Santa mug) classic hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzle.

Mikey- (Splatter/Spraypaint mug with green handle) Gingerbread hot chocolate, hot chocolate with molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger, with a little whipped cream and a gingerbread man topper!

Leo- (Jupiter Jim Merch mug/Planet mug) white hot chocolate, he tried it once and decided it was his thing and totally not because he wanted to be different. Donnie- (I only use S Ar Ca Sm Periodically mug) Mocha. Hot chocolate with coffee. No extras, whipped cream can leave a film on the surface and it’s a texture thing. Splinter- (World's Okayest Dad mug) classic hot chocolate with marshmallows. April- (Red and White candy cane stripe mug) Peppermint Hot chocolate~ peppermint candy cane garnish! Totally doesn’t turn every candy cane into a shive.
