This is me in the middle of review seasons for my board exams. God help me.

I basically started watching Shadow and Bone because Ben Barnes is the love of my life and I like fantasy so it looked like a cool show... And like??? It’s the best fucking thing I’ve seen in a VERY long time???

I was expecting a nice fun show to watch during the week... BITCH, I ate it up in 2 days, I have two new favorite ships, I know the names of the entire cast and if I don’t read the books soon I think I might die. I’m obsessed and I Iove it.

I like this theory. Shall I psychoanalyze? lol

My theory is that patient/woman isn’t actually Mun Yeong’s mom but just a fan of Mun Yeong’s mom and an instigator. I think when she was laughing and said people don’t notice her and they’re finally starting to notice her, she must be the type that’s constantly listening and taking in information when people think she isn’t paying attention. She’s always watching. Her personality seems to enjoy messing with people. When she slipped that note to Sang Tae about how the little brother kills the older brother.. she was going out of her way to start shit between them. She just likes messing with people and Mun Yeong’s family is an easy target. Everybody in the hospital knows their business.

I'm calling it. My favorite side character award for this series goes to Seon Deok, our resident mom. She's just so understanding and accepting. She's fun to be with, but she knows when to discipline the "kids". Her heart is just too big for all of them.

P.S. I watched the episodes, but I'm only squeezing time so I can't do the impressions per chapter thing. Sorry guys. I promise I'll be back for the grand finale! I'll still drop tidbits of my impressions when I watch, but I'll save the best for last.

Let’s talk about the new home dynamics

Yes, Sang Tae and Moon Young squabble a lot. But I realized they all are showing other sides of themselves now that they share a common space. Moon Young shows a childish wishing to be pampered side, that’s why she pouted when Sang Tae said she looked better with long hair.

Kang Tae is more childish too, he had never really kicked his brother under the table or laughed as much before, also, he also shows jealousy.

Sang Tae is both maturing a lot, but at the same time, with Moon Young besides him, he also gets to be childish.

Like, the three of them had stunted growth, they had been frozen in time, but time is finally running for them, and that’s why they’re also showing other sides of themselves.

They’re in an environment where they can all be a little bit “selfish” and others will listen.

Kang Tae gets to escape and have someone to be his accomplice.

Sang Tae gets to say what he wishes to share and doesn’t wish to share.

Moon Young gets to demand being complimented.

It’s not that they’re all enabling each other, quite the contrary, really, they had never really had a safe space to say these thing out loud.
